Her mother is obviously not active on social media. And from a simple look at that picture, it’s clear she didn’t upload it herself. The most likely scenario is that she sent it privately to her boyfriend, who then leaked it. |

Family › Re: Tourism Thursday: I Finally Got Verified—Who Here is More Experienced on Upwork? by Nazgul: 10:03pm On Dec 26, 2025*. Modified: 10:44pm On Dec 26, 2025 |
RevenuesBoost: Tourism Thursday: I Finally Got Verified on Upwork! 🎉 – Who here is more experienced on Upwork?
Nairaland and my website had been giving me all the clients I needed, so much that I got a bit too comfortable and lazied up with my Upwork verification 😅
I actually opened my Upwork account last year but didn’t focus on verifying it until recently. Well, guess what? I finally submitted my ID yesterday, and boom! I’m now officially verified on Upwork!
I couldn’t wait to share the good news with my husband who was out. 🥰
I’ve heard that Upwork pays really well, so I’m curious, who here is more experienced on Upwork? Please share your experiences, tips, or advice. I’d love to learn from you!
I can proudly say I’ve been working from home for three years now and it’s been such a blessing knowing I can pay my bills without waiting for a monthly salary.
By the way, it was my husband who introduced me to the world of remote work, and I’m so glad I took that leap of faith and quit my low-income job to focus on my skills. Today, I can confidently say I’ve grown so much and I know my next big deal is just around the corner. 🤝 That screenshot you uploaded doesn’t show that your profile is verified. As a newbie on Upwork, my honest advice is to start with cheaper gigs, preferably between $10–$50. Those are the jobs you realistically stand a chance of landing at this stage. Most high paying gigs require experience, even if clients don’t state it outright. Trust me, when it comes down to choosing, many clients will pick someone with a Top Rated or Top Rated Plus badge over a new freelancer with no reviews. For now, your main goal should be profile building, not big money. Focus on landing small jobs, delivering excellent work, and getting 5-star ratings and solid reviews. That’s what speeds up the process of earning a badge, which in turn opens the door to higher-paying jobs. I’d also recommend subscribing to Freelancer Plus instead of buying connects. It costs $20 per month, but you get 50% off on your first month, so you’ll pay just $10. With Freelancer Plus, you get 100 free connects, plus the about 50 welcome connects Upwork gives new users. That’s roughly about 150 connects in total. Another advantage is that Freelancer Plus gives you daily alerts on newly posted jobs, so you can apply to listings within seconds of them going live. That alone increases your chances significantly. When applying for jobs, try to focus on clients from the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe. You can skip most listings from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Philippines, especially as a beginner cos clients from those countries hardly give good reviews. And as a new freelancer, this wouldn't be good for you. Lastly, always check that the client has a verified payment method and a hire rate of at least 70%. Anything lower, and you risk wasting your connects on clients who aren’t serious about hiring. Good luck. |

Mrcashout247: Courtesy demands Courtesy requires you to thank people who do you a favour, not those you paid for a service. If you hire a painter to paint your house and later run into him a month after, you won’t start appreciating him again for painting your house. You already paid him for the job. At most, you’ll exchange greetings and move on, because you don’t owe him anything beyond the agreed payment. |

Mrcashout247: Do we even ask ourselves this question.very ungrateful sets of Nigerians You don’t thank people for doing a job they were paid to do. The doctor was simply doing his job, and he was compensated for it. Whether you choose to go back and locate him or not is entirely your decision. It doesn’t make you ungrateful in any way. |

SpencerForbes: It’s becoming obvious that teenagers have completely taken over this forum. I honestly can’t wrap my head around a grown man even having the presence of mind to sit down and write something like this. The level of reasoning is just bottom-tier. That’s exactly what you should expect. When over 70% of the topics on the homepage are deliberately posted to stir up tribal and ethnic clashes, sensible people naturally lose interest. They won’t waste their time engaging in endless toxicity and bait threads. What’s left? Mostly kids and unserious people who still have the energy to argue over nonsense all day. When a platform encourages division instead of meaningful discussion, the quality of users will definitely drop. You can’t drive away thoughtful contributors and then be surprised when the place turns into a kindergarten. |

alezzy13: You will need to trek far from the airport. Some eg MMA2 will detain any e-hailing taxi they see close by, even the bustop opposite the departure gate. You won't need to go far in MM2 cos there's a bus stop directly opposite the airport. Just walk towards the gate after chicken republic and cross to the other side then book your ride. If you don't want to cross, just come out of the gate and turn right, then walk down a bit and book. No body would disturb you. That's how I do. |
