The rule of the thumb is that you should never patronize airport cabs most especially if you're on a low budget cos they're insanely expensive. Anytime I land in Lagos, whether MM1 or MM2, I simply wheel my luggage outside the airport gate to the bus stop and book an Uber from there. Using airport cabs to my house costs between 20k – 30k, but once I step outside the airport and book Uber, I usually pay between 8k – 12k, depending on traffic. You can’t really blame the airport cab drivers too much though. They pay heavily for parking space, access permits, registration, and all those airport charges. So they pass the cost to passengers. But still, 35k for a distance that’s basically a stone’s throw from the airport is just madness. Next time, he should just come out of the airport and use Uber or Bolt. Your wallet will thank you. |
haykay2005:They used to have such option before. But since last month, Geegpay now forces you to convert your funds to naira before transferring to your domestic bank account. Once the money is converted to naira, it can only be sent to a naira account. Unlike before when you could move it in dollar without converting. |
haykay2005:Click on free deposit to US bank. Then put your Geegpay account number as your US account number. |
He might be married, engaged, or only staying in town briefly. That could be why he didn’t push further to collect your contact. |
Father4all:This is obviously my post of the year. You just said the raw truth. |
GloriousGbola:When I was still living in that house, they barely bring us the charge to pay. Infact they come like once in like 3-5 years. Sometimes more than 5 years you won't even see them. The reason I'm asking is that a handful of houses on that street were given charges to pay, but they didn't bring to us. My dad is the one who called me and told me that the tenants told him that most of the houses were given charges but nothing was brought to our house. And I don't want the tenants there to form good citizen by going to Alausa to ask for it, cos doing so would invite unnecessary attention. They would open your file and start assessment and reassessment, adjustment and then penalty for missing so many payments, then future billing. I wish there was a simple, stress-free way to check these things without opening a can of worms. Because once your house is marked, there’s no going back. You’ll be paying, explaining, appealing, and paying again. In 2022 I remember when we were marked by Surulere environmental people (whatever their name is) they told us that the gutter in front of the house is dirty and pasted a court summon on the gate. My dad called me and I told him to tell the tenants there to sort it out. At the end they ended up paying 10k. Can you believe that these same people came in 2023 and collected 20k, and in 2024, they collected 50k. We had to go to Alausa to sort it out before they stopped coming. That's how they behave in Lagos. Once your house is marked, you become their customer. I'll just tell the tenants these to be on the lookout for it. If they bring it fine, if they don't we'll lock up. But no one should go to Alausa. |
omooba969:That's how the game of football is. You win some and you loose some. But mark my words, we'll finish top 4 this season. |
Nazgul:Ok...i just did an automatic scan again and saw they've added a new channel. Number 59. They're currently showing the Morocco vs Comoros game. |
Gotv isn't telvising this year's AFCON I don't know why. I'm using their Supa+ which is N16,800 yet nothing. The worse is that they didn't even advertise it at all like other years. I even did a hard reset on my decoder in case they added a new channel that would show it, yet nothing. Honestly I'm disappointed with them. |
aribisala0:The quote below clearly explains why she was able to buy the house in Satellite Town for that amount. If you had taken a moment to actually read the entire post properly, you would have seen it yourself instead of jumping to conclusions. It was part of a 1979 government scheme where civil servants could purchase lots for N100. We applied, were successful, and were allocated the house. So, we moved into our home in Satellite Town, where my sewing business continued to grow. |
prinsam30:We're winning villa today. That's for sure |
This game should be a walk in the park for Manutd |
This is just common sense. If you don’t have a U.S. passport, just stay where you are. You have no business coming to Nigeria. Don’t come to Nigeria and then start crying when it’s time to go back and immigration starts giving you problems at the point of entry. But if you have a U.S passport, no wahala. Come home, enjoy your Detty December, party with friends and family, spray money, catch cruise, and fly back without stress. Nigeria is not the place to come and be gambling with your future. Entry into the country is easy once you have your Nigerian passport. But entering back the US after enjoying yourself is where the real drama starts. If those guys see that your green passport, they won't mind if you have a resident permit, they can just choose to deny you entry and nothing would happen. |
immortalcrown:You're just trolling...its quite obvious. 😒 |
Imagine UK way don cast referring to us as a 3rd world country. Na wa o. |
immortalcrown:She doesn't need airtime to call you. Not in this WhatsApp era. Airtime was like 10-20 years ago. These days with as little as 20mb, you can talk for hours. And if she can't afford 50mb, then you're in the wrong relationship. |
GloriousGbola:Hello chief, please I wanted to ask… how is Lagos Land Use Charge calculated for house owners, how is it paid, and what determines the amount payable each year? |
sirblend:As in eh! Their own definition of being a Nigerian is to agree with whatever Tinubu dishes out to us whether good or bad. And knowing Tinubu he obviously doesn't have any good policy for us. Today if you see the way I was sweating, you'll pity me. I worked throughout the day without light. Just the heat coming out of my laptop along with the hot weather. It's this evening I put on my Gen. And they've moved us to band A. Yet we're paying more than triple for darkness. |
OriOko88:When you talk, his urchins would defend him. And you'd keep asking yourself what exactly is it they're defending. It's not like the country is getting better. |
MilesMaxwell:I honestly thought I was the only one noticing this. Power supply has dropped drastically, and it’s becoming unbearable. Since this week, we haven’t even had up to 6 hours of electricity in a whole day. It comes briefly, disappears, comes back for a short while, and then goes off again. Sometimes you don’t even know whether to switch appliances on or just forget about it entirely. What makes it more annoying is the government’s incompetence in handling the power sector. They are very quick to increase electricity tariffs, and push everyone into Band A without their consent, but extremely slow or completely unwilling to provide stable power. We keep paying more for darkness. Businesses are suffering. People working from home aren't findet funny cos the heat this period is unbearable. Yet, the same government will come out and tell us to be patient. Patient for how long? You can’t keep increasing tariffs when supply is getting worse. that’s exploitation. If they can’t guarantee reasonable power supply, the least they can do is stop piling extra costs on citizens who are already overwhelmed. Electricity is not a luxury, it’s a necessity which every reasonable government should provide for its citizens. |
How far with the DR Congo parole, has FIFA concluded on the matter? |
alphaconde:And your retirement as well. Because when you grow old and are no longer able to work actively, the income from that property is what will sustain you until the end of your life. It’s long term security, something you build now so you’re not struggling later. That steady cash flow becomes your safety net when strength and opportunities reduce. |
I just transferred some money to my OPAY account I'm surprised I'm not on the list. Maybe the problem is from OPAY. They would definitely sort it out tomorrow and I'll see my name. |
Build which country? The one plagued by insecurity and the government doesn't seem to care, or the one Tinubu is warming up to suck us dry by January 2026 in the name of tax? Nigeria is a lost cause. |
AngelicBeing:Lol you don find me come here. ![]() |

Emmaomotob:It’s not really about the money. It’s more about competing with others and winning. That alone is growth. It’s a clear confirmation that you’re good at what you do, and honestly, it would boostsm your confidence significantly. When you consistently prove yourself in competitive situations and win, you'll begin to trust your abilities more. Everything shouldn't be about money. |
Galay:Click on reply, then scroll down to choose file and attach the picture from wherever you saved it and submit your post. |
Seun:I'll try again.... |
