My Position thus remains that; the IGP did nothing wrong by obeying the call of duty as it regards to his office! The IGP can as well say that the court pronouncement that Status Quo be maintained had nothing to do with his office, as his office was not involved in the suit... Back to the Bowl of Contention! Tambuwal and every other politicians that defect on a daily basis defect for Selfish reasons alone and not necessarily for the interest of the Country, and I don't hold it against them, instead I hold it against our highly reverend Constitution and the lack of sound philosophy in the politicalsphere of Nigeria. That there may be crisis and/or Factions in Sokoto state PDP does not necessarily mean that there is Crisis and/or Faction in PDP in General ( again any Good lawyer can argue that, because of the incomplete, incoherent and ambiguous nature of the 1999 Constitution as amended) because at that point, once the national body of the party recognize one faction it simply means the other faction are labeled hooligans! And with what has been unfolding in recent day showing Tambuwal's political moves it is sure his future political aspiration was more certain in the APC, (I don't have a problem with the either). My displeasure is that, why can't they just act like responsible citizens by resigning then defect, and let the house conduct another election for their speaker! He would have earned more respect by and for Nigerians, by placing the interest of the nation first over his personal interest, and by doing all that is humanly possible to respect the number 3 seat of the country. But No! Tambuwal decided to gamble with the respect accorded to the institution of the office of the Speaker, the Number 3 seat of the Nation by placing his personal interest first because he found a loop hole in the nation's Constitution, and we all should support him because politicians and selfish interest are words that normally go hand in hand and because this is democracy! *in MI's Voice* "You all should clap for yourselves! Weldone!" |
1025:You don't still get it! Do you? Take some matters to Court and they remain in court because of the very ambiguous and incomplete nature of our constitution! Some issues has to be "veto"ed over! |
1025:You all said more than this during the time when SLS details were withdrawn and when his Diplomatic Passport was seized, till today No court of Competent Jurisdiction made any pronouncment against the IGP or the presidency! Let's all watch and see if the same won't take place in this case! The IGP did not remove the speaker from Office, If you like take. A case to court and tell the court that he refuse to call Aminu Tambuwal "Speaker" and see if that kind of case won't be kicked out of the window! |
muktarmtt:You can't even write Good English! In Nigeria instead of being Innocent until proven Guilty, it happens the other way round |
sucess001:There is no division in PDP! Any form of division he points to is self orchestrated |
Jerry24kay: The below is what I mean! If only you could understand! [quote author=mikeansy post=28375937]those who crafted our constitution hoped that a Speaker who is a custodian of the law will be a responsible citizen and do the right thing and resign. But it seems clearly that the Nigerian constitution was expecting too much from a typical Nigerian politician who clearly have no honour. Tambuwal is no longer in HOR! and should not be addressed as Speaker! At least not while the subject is being debated in court. |
Etinosajay: Read what's Below and draw some sense into you skull! sucess001: Read this! Abagworo:as if it's impossible for him to complete it by himself? You Mu*Mu o! |
Jesusloveyou:Nooooo! He himself knows that there is a Lacuna somewhere somehow in that constitution and he is banking on it, knowing fully well that it could cause troubles in the polity and the system but he is still swimming in the loop hole and telling everyother Nigeian that we can kill ourselves if we like in as much as the constitution has no way of hanging him! That's not what is expected of an elder states man! |
donphilopus:they said he denied his plane from landing, you are here on Nairaland.com ranting and vexing up and down... I wonder what you would do if he is then arrested for questioning that one you will take to the streets with grenade and AK 47 assault rifle! |
Jerry24kay:so I should wait for a court to explain to me what is in that shit of book we call a constitution! Guy am not in that league! Let Tambuwal come out and tell us why he should still even be called a house of rep member, because he left his party while there were no faction in pdp and pdp did not merge with any party! Go get yourself a Nigerian Constitution and read! The most annoying part of this whole defection of the speaker is that I don't think those who wrote the constitution considered a speaker defecting because if they did, they won't have to say that the speaker or the presiding officer is the only one to announce a seat vacant in the case of defection of members when parties are still intact |
what on earth is wrong with this fellow? Can't he just lay off! When he talks like this, one is left to look back and think of what he did when he was in power and it's so irritating that he did absolutely nothing! Instead he wanted a third term from these same law makers |
omenka:what are you saying? Like I care?! If they can promise to kill innocent people and they did and they are still doing, if they can kidnap over 200 girls, if they are willing to form an alternative government just because they want to get to power come 2015 what else can't they do? |
Amaechi would never complete that project! Let him go and learn from Akpabio on how to start, Monitor and Commission Projects, instead of wasting his time talking like a market woman or a pseudo-male |
The IG has just done the needful the only story that is quite off the hook is the explosion of tear-gas, every other reason are justifiable! And he is right not to have called the former speaker "Speaker" I wait to see what the committee would do next! |
it's possible apc could be pulling all these stunts to woo puplic sympathy! |
Demdem:a man that according to your constitution should lose his seat! still remains the speaker abi? |
tuborme:you are enlightened |
wakacome:The Court? Just in case you don't know or maybe you have forgotten or maybe you just chose to ignore it! The Court is the cause of all of this from the first place, because if the court has been able to categorically tell politicians and Nigerians in general if a house member is to lose his or her seat, if he or she defects to another party, all of this drama would have been greatly reduced... instead for months now the Court and it's Corrupt set of judges has not been able to interpret that very issue for us, the first case is still in court till tomorrow! And here you are calling the Court in this! Am not saying anybody should take laws into their hands but the court can't help on this one abeg |
I see! When people know the constitution and what it says, they can always put politicians where they belong! |
lol! OBJ is simply playing the majority of Nigerians by berating the president, just so he be seen as the better democratic president! Which politician doesn't want to remain relevant? |
and that's how they would keep gallivanting still 4 years after Amaechi's tenure has long elapsed! Our Judiciary system is a mess! Little wonder it's called judiciary system, not "Justice" System |
this is only A good News to the Yahoo Boys... |
and that's how his family will visit him and start planning his escape |
Medunah:how much be the normal price? |
oyetunji12:take correction |
Caseless:the OP did that Na? |
Alphaoscar:Oh! I see! |
Alphaoscar:You tag Umana joining APC progress? You must be kidding! |
For crying out loud what manner of write up is this! The Mod should not allow such a post still be on here! The OP is not writhing in any known language, for if that is English he is writing then I must say that the school he is in now or that which he attended should be shut down and barricaded ... he is writing like the Yoruba man who is a state house of rep member from Ekiti whom channels TV interviewed few days back! Gosh! |
