Good analysis, well broken down into segments, to the extent that even a layman can understand the technicalities used in the financial statement.

I will personally start adding to my Oando holdings when I notice a good rate of honesty from Wale. He is the only reason I am really careful with Oando as na just some left over units I still maintained
The bolded is a valid point though. But Wale is the main reason why Oando is able to make a turnaround, due to his connection with the presidency. And like other CEOs of companies in Nigeria, he also has personal ambition to get super-rich. For now, he is on track to lift Oando to greater height either by hook or crook. That is why I have decided to follow the money for now.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ndept:
ndept:
The possibility of Oando selling 5 times its current market price (CMP) in the next one year is 75%. An upstream oil company selling for less than N20 to me is a steal and I am seated permanently in it waiting for the next one year. The fact that Wale was perceived as a cowboy doesn't mean that he can never change his way to return Oando back to those good old days when Oando was paying dividend of N3, infact he will be super proud to do that. Wale has over 4.7 billion units of Oando amounting to N75b at CMP. If Oando should appreciate 5 times in price, that means Wale's worth in Oando alone will amount to N376bn. Don't you think Wale will prefer to be as rich in Oando just like Ovia is rich in Zenith?
Above is a 15 July 2024 post from me in conversation with yMcy56. Oando was still selling at around N17 then.

Once again, I wish to reiterate that the best time to make a kill on a stock is when a perceived bad stock is going through a turnaround, which is the case of Oando. Therefore, let us master the art of entering a stock when it is undervalued due to the prevailing circumstance surrounding the stock. Except one wants to be economical with the truth, it has been evident from the beginning of this government that Oando is a stock that will benefit massively from government support. Another reason why I bought when it was selling between N7 and N10 was because I have nothing to loose, worst case scenario in the event of delisting is for the company to pay me back the same amount I bought. Even at that, the body language of Wale does not suggest that Oando will delist then.

Moving forward, we need to come to terms with the fact that Oando is no longer the same company as we used to see it before. Those outstanding results will still be released in due course and there will be improvement in it to justify the stock price. Infact, I see Oando price around N130 in the next 6 months. But for me, I will be monitoring it to buy at a dip before they release the outstanding result on 23 October 2024. Any price below or around N70 is a buy for me. For those that bought at higher price, I will advise you do not sell at a loss.

NB: Above are my personal opinion please.

In the spirit of the country’s independence, permit me to say that I have stayed long here to know that some monikers are just great and anytime they mention a stock, I don’t need to look before I leap because they are people that have stood the test of time and proved themselves beyond reasonable doubt. for example, people like @currentprice, despite the fact that he said we should wait for Q3 of UACN, I have already picked over 400,000 units of it, so after the result, I pick more or decide otherwise.

@bagwa is an insider with a difference, gives authentic insider information before you hear it in other places. For those that does not have the boldness to see their stock going down anyhow till it reaches the promised land, simply follow the great investor @emmanuelewumi, his stocks comes with shock absorber and can withstand the test of time, only that you must be very patient. @agbalowomeri is a jovial person that knows his onion, forget about the fact that he jokes and catch fun with women, he is a legend. @yMcy56, our exceptional landlady, nothing do you o. keep the flag flying please.

@Bullbearmarket, your contribution is exceptional. To some, @prophetutuocha may seem to be ranting, but he is surely good in his spiritual analysis (SA), do not discountenance SA also in NGX. @megawealth01, you are too much, a trader per excellence. @mikeapollo, you are good. @Karltom, Our Oil & Gas correspondent and accurate time keeper alongside @dapix, keep it on. @ositadima, you are a jewel, only that atimes I don’t know the problem you have with our landlady, mbok, let peace reign. @Princkez should not be taken for granted, he has a way of being right with about 70% of his prediction. @sunrisepebble is a fast rising star, keep the flag flying. @bovali is good in what she is doing.

@locotrader is now a busy big man that comes occasionally, but then, a great trader. I am missing his bantam with our ever sarcastic @peterichy. @onlygentleguy, you are highly appreciated, even though you are now a visiting emeritus member. RabbiDoracle, sir wanajo, customstreet, we want you back please.

Not to forget the greatest poet, @Deruggedprofessor, a man full of wisdom. The list is endless, crownprince2017, Unite4real, Omooloriredade, stcool, Ihedi (one love), pastor veecovee, sellydion, elder Toluway, Mankind2024:, MarketJJC: @SonofElElyonRet, Megapower, Babs02, Capitas7, brotherly, Mpeace, chairman and CEO Seplat, I see you o. In short, everyone here that time will not permit me to mention, you are all great. We shall all be multi-millionaires and billionaires in this NGX in Jesus name.

I’ve been away since Thursday. Abuja - Kaduna - Abuja - Lagos - Ibadan and now back in Abuja. It’s all about real estate, basically landed property and not building for tenancy. Anyways, thank God for journey mercy.

Better late than never, apologies to good people on this forum that has been made to go through lengthy thread devoid of the normal stock talk. It is all for the well-being of everybody. @Ades1, special apology.

@SonofElElyonRet, kudos for your disclosure, I understand your position perfectly, part of the reason I spoke out loudly last week. We move, but we will never give up on opinion to better the platform, albeit now, differently, probably the style @ololufemi did to godlyguy. Truth be told, the fact that streetinvestor cannot yield to my repeated calls and request to give us his old moniker lay credence to the fact that, he himself is not proud of his old self. On that note, I rest my case. I am @kolaish and still proud to relate with it. Meanwhile despite all the bantam, I still love you, but will be happier to have a better you on this forum.

No man is an island, and if you are one, then, I wonder what you are doing here. To be successful in life, make your plans, network with others, get ideas here and there, and make your decision. For example, my discussion here with @emmanuelewumi, when I sold my farm last year influenced me to buy presco (at around N160) with half of the fund realized from the sale, the rest is history. Thanks @emmanuelewumi.

Street investor joined a year ago? The ancestor himself? hahahahahahaha you must be a newbie. Where were you when he said his target for Oando was ₦20? When the target hit, he shifted the goal post to ₦30. Oando was trading for around 12 or 13 at the time.

The emotions too plenty for here, meanwhile he almost always wins all his arguments because he asks valid questions that no one can answer.

Why is a company with a valuation of ₦6billion+ showing pictures of stockbrokers in a car park according to street. Why not post pictures of what they are selling or their plantation? That is a valid question.
If you must know, this is @kolaish and I joined this forum around 2015 or thereabout and have been on NSE/NGX for over 3 decades. I went for holiday outside the country and during that period gave the laptop I was using to communicate on this forum to my third child who recently got admission into the university so that he can be using it for school assignment. Coming back, I forgot the login details of my old moniker and the email password. This is the reason why I opened a new moniker @ndept. If the so-called to.ut in the name of streetinvestor2 is bold enough, let him give us his old moniker to know who he is.

I have been long enough to know how many resource persons we have lost on this forum due to ru.de people like him and I will not allow him to turn this platform into a mediocre that he is. If he does not stop abusi.ng and calling people derogatory names here, I am ready to tackle him all the way. Good people should not always keep quiet and allow bad behaviour to linger for long until it becomes a norm. That is part of what led our country to where we are now, because people do not want to tackle bad people/behaviour collectively.

As for CAVERTON, I remember pointing out the error on my July 31 post on their H1 financial reports when most were celebrating. The error was very clear for any one to have picked it out when you looked at the figures closely but no way, people jump am pass. They all rushed into it as usual.

Caverton was trading at N1.4 and then the chaos moved it to N4.45 which was over 210% before Caverton had to use proper reporting to remove the minus sign and use open and close bracket to properly indicate a huge loss.

Now the journey is down hill and I expect the management to help those that bought at such a high price because the way am seeing it, people go cry sha.

Oga Emma has always maintained here that we should always crunch the figures on our own and examine properly. No one is immune to error including the authors of the reports
Good to hear from you on this caverton issue again. I bought close to 3m units of caverton, but after your post, I still went back to look at it and to avoid controversy I sold all at the same price I bought. Not minding the fact that the stock rallied over 150% after two weeks, I did not regret selling. Your contribution is valid and thanks.

The moral of the story I posted earlier today is that, the various types of analysis identified on this platform (Spiritual Analysis, Sentiment Analysis, Fundamental Analysis, Technical Analysis, Sincerity Analysis, Gut Analysis and Dream Analysis), there are many different approaches to making money in the stock market. Each method holds value, and shouldn't be dismissed. Instead, every analysis should be respected as they all contribute to achieving success in trading and investing

For those on tiktok, this is the spiritual analysis given on Oando since 9 June 2024 if I am not mistaken. Anyone who keyed into it would be smiling to the banks by now. Not to talk of prophet Utuocha that have been shouting it since March this year.

Please, someone enlighten me, what does the term "Monkey Hunting" mean?
Monkey Hunting and The Stock Market

Once upon a time, a troop of monkeys lived near a village. The villagers in this village were hardworking and sincere. One day, a rich merchant came to this snoozy village. The curious villagers gathered around to see this stranger. The merchant coming forward pompously declared, “I shall buy these village monkeys for $100 each”. The villagers thought this merchant was crazy and they couldn’t fathom why someone would buy stray monkeys for $100 apiece!

Still, excited at the prospect of making some easy money, few villagers caught some monkeys and gave it to this merchant. To their astonishment, he gave them the $100 as promised for each monkey. This news spread like wildfire, and people started catching these poor monkeys to sell them to this merchant. A few days later, happy with the response he had received, the merchant decided to double the price of each monkey to $200 each. Excited and frenzied, the villagers ran around, days on end to catch the remaining monkeys, and sold them to the merchant for $200 each. The merchant, who by now was mighty pleased with the response, announced, he would now buy the monkeys at $500 each! The villagers lost sleep; they caught the last six or seven remaining monkeys and gave them to the merchant for $500 each and now anxiously waited for his next move. The merchant later came and announced, he was going home for a week and upon his return, would buy more monkeys at $1000 each!

He asked his servants to take care of the monkeys he had bought, then bidding his farewell, left the village for good. Villagers, who by now were rich and accustomed to the easy money, became anxious and sad as there were no monkeys left for them to sell and make more money.
Then one day, the servants of the merchant told some villagers, that they were willing to sell a few of the monkeys at $750 each secretly, before the merchant came back.
This news again became viral and spread like wildfire. Since the merchant was going to buy the monkey’s back at $1000 each, there was more profit to be made.
Villagers pooled in all they had saved so far and even raised more capital to buy the monkeys.
The rich bought monkeys in bulk, the poor borrowed money from others to buy as many as they could afford. They made a queue at the merchant’s house the next day, to get their dear monkeys back. The servants sold all the monkeys at $750 each, within a day.

After the successful sale of Monkey’s to the villagers, the servants too left the village, informing them, they would return with their master and asked them to take good care of their monkeys in their absence. The villagers took excellent care of their monkeys and waited patiently for the merchant to return. Weeks turned into months, but nobody came! It slowly dawned upon the villagers that they had invested all their savings to buy useless stray monkeys at $750 each! The Merchant and his servants were now gone forever with their money and all they were left with were “Big Fat Monkeys”.

This story teaches us a lot about how some big IPO’s and Ponzi schemes work.
The Merchants are the promoters of the company, who list on the stock markets, to attract your capital, in the promise of lucrative returns. Making tall promises, inflating the share price, and creating people frenzy is all part of the scheme.

The servants are the bankers, who sell these company shares to the gullible investors at high prices, and end up trapping them with the promise of high returns. Villagers are you and me, who invest in these companies with the fear of missing out, without actually knowing what the company does, and are purely lured by the offer of high returns and easy money. The Monkeys are the useless stocks that we are left with when the company folds up. They are not even worth their weight on paper. It’s true what they say about the stock market. “ It made many more bankrupt and very few filthy rich, this monkey business”
