KarlTom:By tomorrow, UCAP, DangSugar and others will drop their result. But banks will be from third week of March. Personally, I don't see the bear lasting 3 days. |
African Proverb: "A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer!" |
yMcy56:Good observation. You are indeed the IYOLOJA GENERAL of NSEMPA. |
KarlTom:My dear Mr Ding The bear period is the time for vawulence in NSEMPA ![]() We no dey gree for anybody |
vacanci:It's Nestle, not MTN |
I am very sure that more than 80% of those on this platform including myself are here to make wealth, not only for themselves but for others. For those that are here to make katakata, it's just a matter of time before they will run away. Where are the likes of youngbuffet, sboga etc |
WantsandMore:Their Audited result is bad, negative EPS of N100 |
The red in the market is an opportunity to buy low and not to run away o So, keep an eye on your target stock. Set your price entry and hit the buy button when you are convinced that you have bought rightly. |
Very resourceful and insightful analyst on this platform like currentprice etc foresaw all these in their previous analysis but some did not take it serious and were even castigating them saying they are making noise so that they can buy lower. Oya, make una speak now. |
Streetinvestor2:Stop deceiving yourself on the bolded statement. The NGX rose to this height base on their negative policies and not their making. Do you really think they care about the stock market? Have they being able to defend things that matter most about the economy, not to talk of the stock market..... |
Meanwhile DangCement releasing their esteem clients in tranches ![]() |
Krisuba:Audited financial statement of DS and NASCON is just in the next 3 days. Dangfoods consumation/processing thereafter. Patience is key. |
sterlingD:The direction and price movement of stocks in the banking sector will be known when any of the banks release its dividend payout. Their is apprehension/uncertainty if the dividend they would pay can sustain their price. Until then, all that is happening now to the prices of banking stocks are just normal reaction from market operators. |

yMcy56:On point in all that you said. Sugar result may not be that good mainly due to forex loss, even though it may not be that huge like the breweries. And again we can see clearly what forex loss did to the account of flourmill, cadbury and others |
Market dancing sideways like a village bride relocating to the city. It may continue like this until declaration of audited results and dividend by companies from February 27th upward. |
. |
vacanci:You have good points though. But a bad result when released, will definitely have impact on a stock no matter how little. Recall that the price of DS went down for about 2 days when they released bad Q3 before picking up again. The cadbury you referenced went down for some days also before picking up again. I also see DS result going down for 2 days after they release their Q4. By then I will buy the large chunk I want to buy. However, these are all postulations. As you say, the market has a voice of its own. |
Tpharell:Call MPeace. He is a director in Seplat ![]() |
The "oniduro" driving Dangcement (Otes) has left the passenger to their fate. For over 2 weeks now, the exit door has been so tiny ![]() |
yMcy56:Well said. For the purpose of education, so many people don't know the numerous benefits accrue from being a director or majority shareholder in a company. Some of these includes the power to influence the choice of contractors supplying goods to the company, power to appoint people into juicy positions in the company etc. Why do you think Tony quickly fend off Otedola from transcorp. Same reason Jim Ovia, Otedola and others have been busy acquiring the shares of their various banks in every slight opportunity in order to have controlling power in their banks. |
for the market makers in charge of Ellah Lakes, una well done o. I see una hands. Over 3 million units bought at N3.10 and yet they did not allow the price to go down by buying in tranches less than 99,000 units on each occasion. |
KarlTom:You have a good point on DS and I agree with you, taking into consideration that Alhaji has always been good to shareholders. He can even pay dividend from retained earnings. However, I am only saying my opinion based on the negative -N2.22 eps Q3 of 2023 as against positive N2.04 eps Q3 of 2022. So, I don't want to raise my expectation too high on DS dividend payment. On NASCON, the company has a robust eps of over N5 in Q3 2023. So, I expect good dividend from NASCON. Let's not forget that NASCON paid interim of N1 in September last year. |
Streetinvestor2:DS result may not be that good compare to previous AFS due to foreign exchange loss. If at all DS will pay dividend, it may not be more than 50k. However, NASCON may pay not less than N1.50k dividend. |
PuristForest:Simply means that the company OMATEK is currently going through some restructuring probably in their business model. Just to inform you of the present state of the company. |
yMcy56:You are not getting it my dear. You are someone that doesn't like quarrel, but atimes by commission or omission, you always look for it. Why dishing out someone's post when you already know the conversation is not in that person's favour. My reply may sound negative to you but you will be happier if you keep to it. I closed this chapter to face the market. Have a nice day. |
yMcy56:Learn to move on... Emma is not a perfect man or a prophet, he is simply saying his opinion on stocks from his own point of view. If the same Geregu is doing N20 now, will you fish out your response? In addition, will you be happy if people start fishing out some of your response that went negative? You have been good and resourceful on this platform and will be happier if you stay away from bantam. |
veecovee:Banking stocks are the ones dictating the movement of other stocks in NGX for sometime now. If banking stocks go higher, other stocks follow the trend and vice versa. I doubt if it is the works of market makers. It is just the psychology of investors pricing NASCON parri-passu with DangSugar. |
ZikkyChops:Thanks for the update. |
Interesting to note that DangSugar is being used as the benchmark to price NASCON. Another angle to it is that DangSugar may not pay any dividend for the year, while NASCON may pay around N2 as dividend. |
Jaakay:hold on to your Oando. Your target is achievable. |
beejay1:Sentiments favour Japaul. For the company to announce their unaudited result before other company is a new leaf. Something definitely is cooking. I have Japaul and will hold till I see the end. |
