Hello everyone please has anyone evaluated this nacetem diploma successfully as two or more degree. Please put me through before I enter the plane going to nacetem headquarters.

I'd also like to know if anyone has the NACETEM curriculum or syllabus, especially people who are currently in the program.

Thanks.

Congratulations on your RP approval.
kofoironic:
After months-- since July 23rd 2018, I finally got a positive decision yesterday. School is already on second semester. I will have to resume in Autumn 2019.

What I have learned so far is:
1.Make sure you have 6720 euro that didn't just appear in your account, and if it did, make sure you can prove where it came from, and how the person who gave it to you got it.

2. They do not want Nigerians /Africans filling up their country; they will do anything and everything within their power to sabotage your residence permit application process/decision. Have that at the back of your mind, make sure you have the money or a genuine sponsor. And be ready to have that money untouched for more than 6 months.

3. Make sure that whatever you say or write down during the interview remains consistent during subsequent requests for supplementary documents.

4. If you want to go to Finland, have a plan B--Finland did lose its appeal to me-- shebi na book i dey go read? Abi no be manage-manage I go dey do for there? In my mind I already forgot about Suomi -- I already fantacized about the car I could use my school fees to buy. I could totally be balling in Naija.

5. What I am trying to say is: Make efforts to read about things, crawl this whole thread and the Internet about the best practices about RP application process.

6.Apply early, if possible, spend a whole year getting your money and your documents right.

To all who are still waiting to hear the goodnews, and like the enterfinland 3week email would say, "please wait patiently".

@Marcopolo65 and others, please see below for the new Finnish government rule that applies to Third-country nationals.

Starting from September 1, 2018, researchers and students can be issued residence permits with a longer duration – the first permit can be issued for a maximum of two years instead of one. Starting from September, the residence permit for researchers can also be granted for persons conducting research with a grant. A researcher or degree student that has been granted a residence permit in another EU member state can enter Finland and perform research or study with an approved notification to the authorities, instead of applying for a residence permit for Finland. After completing the research or studies, the person can be granted a residence permit for the purpose of undertaking a job search or starting a company.

The new Finnish law and the changes in the Aliens Act are based on the European Union Directive 2016/801/EU on the conditions of entry and residence of third-country nationals for the purposes of research, studies, training, voluntary service, pupil exchange schemes, or educational projects and au pairing.

Marcopolo65:

I have been to migri's website and was unable to get anything related to the new rule... I will be glad if I can have an idea about the new rule or a direct link to the page....Thanks in anticipation

Thank you for pointing this out, apparently "ours cases are different" . I'm in no way blaming Migri for their decision.
Yanganbiwa:

And this is a classical example with regards to my earlier post.

"I submitted some docs available at the time but not all." This "could" mean means NeeYoh did not submit ALL the documents needed.

When your application to study here starts taking long despite having scholarship, it simply means you did not package it well. It might take long (some are still positive) bc the outcome variables rest on their hand if they are convinced. But if you package your application well, their hands are forced to give u whether they like it or not.

Thirdly and most importantly, if you are using a sponsor, your chances are like 50-50. There are so many documents and loopholes migri can exploit to deny you and you might get confused on what to present. The best way still remains self sponsor.
Travel / Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by NeeYoh(m): 12:32pm On Dec 07, 2018
The new rule is stated in Migri website.
Zudoka:

Sorry about this Neeyoh.

If you find out what the new rule for applicants from third world countries is, please do let us know.
Travel / Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by NeeYoh(m): 12:27pm On Dec 07, 2018
I was only granted full tuition scholarship not including living expenses support. Sorry if my earlier post wasn't clear enough.
frankie2K:

Did your school grant you 560 euros/month living expense? if they granted you both scholarship and stipend then no need submitting sponsors bank statement and dox. because i am quite confused. can u screen shot the new rule on third world countries and upload here.
Travel / Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by NeeYoh(m): 11:34pm On Dec 02, 2018
The scholarship I was awarded covers full tuition for 2 years like 10-12k euros/year (for my course) and estimate for living expenses is 560 euros/month.
RoastedCorn:
Hello Neeyoh, sorry to hear about your negative decision.... I hope you get it next year....

However how much is the scholarship and what's the estimate for accommodation and feeding a month...... Just asking for a friend
Travel / Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by NeeYoh(m): 12:39pm On Dec 01, 2018
I used a sponsor. I submitted some docs available at the time but not all.

kofoironic:
Were you self sponsored or you have a sponsor?
If you have a sponsor, did you submit clear documentation of where your sponsor's money came from?

It is always about the money. So Sorry NeeYoh
Travel / Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by NeeYoh(m): 9:31am On Dec 01, 2018
Hello everyone,

Hope we are all doing well. So I received a negative decision regarding my Residence Permit application for studies from Migri on Wednesday 28th, November 2018 (that's 2 months after submitting the requested supplementary documents). The reason given was that they feel I would evade their rules in the country while also stating that my financial documents weren't credible enough. Most of the text in the decision doc were in Finnish (especially the explanations) as only the decision and the reason for denial were in English. Also, there's a new rule/act that applies to applicants from Third World countries stated in the document.

Attached with the Residence Permit decision is an Appeal doc for instructions.

I've been in contact with my Finnish university the whole time of the delay in which they also moved my admission along with my scholarship offer to next year 2019.

I wish those of you still expecting a decision a positive outcome.
Travel / Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by NeeYoh(m): 10:39pm On Nov 09, 2018
The situation is really disheartening. Your idea is welcomed.

Hafeez89:

My good people in the house, please I want us to have a crictical look at the delay in issuing us the RP by migri this year. Even though it is beyond our jurisdiction as all the authority to grant/deny is vested in their authority. We have people that is now over 4months they did their interview and yet no decision. We the applicant is at the receiving end. I want to suggest we take proactive measure in making our voices heard,I'm thinking Nigerian ministry of foreign affairs can help us contact either migri/embassy on our behalf,or any other suggested agency that can contact them on our behalf.
Lastly,I discussed this delay with one Bangladesh applicant and he told me maybe Finland don't want to welcome 3rd world countries citizens in thier country anymore that is why they are complicating the decision process, cuz all other nationality have been attended to by the same migri and they have started thier studies in Finland. I am writing this piece to awaken us and have a roundtable discussion to reach a consensus on what we can do on our own path because we can't just keep folding our arms and watch as time fly away.
Even if they want to serve us a negative decision,it is better they do so on time so that we can start planning for a fresh application or apply to another country as some of us are having such thought.

I await your kind contribution. May God see us through.

UPDATE ON RESIDENCE PERMIT: From 1st of September, Residence Permits issued by Migri is now valid for 2yrs. The implication; prospective students will now have to show means of support for the duration of their studies in Finland. Those who applied before September or those with pending applications aren't included.

Please I got admission into metropolia University of applied science Finland. Please I will want you to share with me your interview experience, my interview is on 27 of August and also I did online application not ope1 form does it matter??

Congratulations on your acceptance.

It really does not matter whether paper or electronic application. Just have the required and supplementary documents sent.

The interview is more like a direct question and answer as the interviewer is concentrated on typing your transcript/response and only raises his/her head to confirm your answers. At the end of the interview session you'll be given the printed transcript to check if there's any discrepancy between what you said and what was typed for correction. If you made mistakes in your response you can request for the answers to be corrected. Your documents will also be returned to you.

Most of the questions you'll be asked are from your application and try to be as honest as possible.

Very important: Know your school's name, location, course of study there, courses you will be taking and the programme's relevance to your career/home country's development. You will be asked.

For the funding:
You will be requested to fill a questionnaire about the funds in your account. The largest amount deposited and by who and why. If you are self-sponsored; you will fill out your employment or your means of your source of funds.
Your monthly income, the name, location and contact information of this job. Know the year you opened your bank account.

If you have a sponsor:
You'll be asked his/her relationship with you and why he/she is sponsoring you.
Know the contact info of your sponsor off hand if he/she isn't your parent. The job your sponsor does, position at the workplace along with contact info, nature of the job, class of company if your sponsor holds a top position there (plc or ltd) monthly income from the job, if your sponsor is into any partnership, if your sponsor has rental other sources of income(you should add all these amount up as the monthly income if applicable).

Try to have as much info as you can on your school, sponsor and funds. Questions will vary depending on many factors.

congratulations bro. please which school gave you the scholarship, how did you apply for the scholarship, what are the requirements and documents you supplied. I am an intending PhD student please kindly direct me. Thanks

Thanks. I got the scholarship from the University of Tampere. I applied with the regular application process. Depending on the school, there's usually the option to be considered for scholarship. The requirements are listed on the program's webpage of the university. Most Finnish institutions offer students scholarships. The scholarship selection is based on a number of criteria; from your motivation letter, English test to academic background and in your case the research.

Look out for the EDUFI scholarship by the Finnish government dedicated for Doctoral students.

Interview went well. Like I said earlier, be honest with them and most questions are from ur OPE_1 form.
Supplementary is sent to migri eservice.
Know ur course module, where ur school is located, name of ur school, why Finland, where will the degree earned be used in the future, etc.
I do not have all the questions but it's sth that u can relate to.
Be honest when u are asked if u have been denied visa b4. Also if u are self sponsor like me, be ready to explain most large sum of money paid into ur account.

I wish u all the best.
When is ur appointment wit the embassy?
Next Thursday, 5th July
