The embassy had to call me to come and pick up my documents since UPS is not a serious company, I don't think they are efficient with their operations there. So my advice is to please always use DHL. Thank you guys. |

Finally, I have my passport stamped with visa!
Interview date: August 16th
Funded BA: August 27th
AM arrival: September 13th
Passport & Insurance submission: September 14th
Passport arrival:September 19th
Thanks to God Almighty who made everything possible. Also, thanks to the wonderful people on here. Actually the journey started September last year after deciding that I would further my studies at Germany. My first call was to register with Goethe Institut Lagos. Secondly, I followed the German student visa thread on Nairaland. While reading through, I saw that I was on the right path. Advices like "knowing the language is the meal ticket here, use google search to get any answer you want, choose your course wisely..." were so helpful. I wanted a bachelor course that has a combination of management and engineering even though I have a CGPA more than enough for a masters degree. After my search on DAAD, I settled to apply to schools that accepts English proficiency letter, such as: Fachhochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS) - B.Eng Business & Engineering.
Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) - B.Eng Engineering & Management (NC).
Hochschule Trier, Umwelt-Birkenfeld - B.Eng Sustainable Business & Technology.
Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) - B.Eng Industrial Engineering/Maintenance and Operation.
I got admission letters from every one of them and settled for FHWS considering important factors. Here I am today with a visa, German B1 certificate (thanks to my teachers such as Frau Frances , Frau Solomon , Herr Musbaudeen , Herr Tunji , among others), and a course of my choice (not JAMB choice lol).
Advice for newbies: All you need is on this thread. Go back to as far as 2016 thread. Read and read! You could end up becoming an agent. As for those going for another BSc, prepare for test questions in order to ease pressure that may arise during interview. You can ask for previous transcripts on the test questions. They are helpful. Also, dont just see this opportunity as an escape route. You can settle for that dream course you have always wanted. For those with only WAEC/NECO (which is not equivalent to German Abitur), read through what it takes to make it in Studienkolleg. Be truthful to yourself. If you don't have the capabilities to make the B1 Zertifikat and study in German at Studienkolleg, simply go get registered at NOUN to complete a 100 Level course or get admitted to any other university or get an A Level certificate (Note: check the school's requirements), then apply to German universities. German A1 and A2 are fun, not until you get to B1. Topics like Adjektiv Deklination, Verben mit Präpositionen, and B1 grammars are not child's play. Simply read Jigba's diary on here on Nairaland to learn more.
Bis später! |

No dear, my accommodation is single room. I'm sorry I don't know about payment of deposit for shared flat. Good luck. OJM1: Please is ur accommodation flatshare or a room
For flatshare the deposit is it meant to be individually
Thank |
Travel › Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 5 by Nellso: 8:41am On Sep 20, 2018 |
According to my own accommodation, the deposit is totally different from the rent. You'll get the deposit back when you're leaving the accommodation as long as you didn't damage anything and so on (read their rules and regulations/terms and conditions. The deposit is also a one time payment. The rent of 267€ is monthly. OJM1: Good morning all, please I need clarification on accomodation issue.
I got an accommodation for 267euros And am seeing deposit of 500euros
Please the accomodation rent is it a monthly payment And for the deposit does it include rent and is it a first payment thing.
Please I need urgent response
Thank you all |

I was travelling with my family to Canada from Lagos, and flew through Lufthansa, so a stop over at Germany. On time to board from Germany to Canada, the airline said our visa was cancelled for no reason. We eventually thought since they won't allow us fly to our destination we can then stay here to seek Aduro. They took our passport, few weeks in camp they gave us a house and we had quickly finish our interview under 3 weeks.. We haven't stayed up till 2 months in dis country they don knack us negative, we even appeal, court still reject am but we don't get lawyer and the lawyer no dey somewhat serious. Another letter come from court and shows they can pick us up anytime and send us back to Lagos, since our passport dey there hand. Now we are thinking of changing country and go try our luck elsewhere. We already have finger print in germany. Please what do you guys advise. |

Relax boss. Someone here once said sometimes they confirm receipt, sometimes they don't. The koko is that they'll still process your application with or without it. They'll soon send you a mail either requesting you to fund (that's when you resend your blocking confirmation), or requesting for passport and travel health insurance (which means AM). But if you want to sleep better at night, you can resend your blocking confirmation. It's your call bro. Good luck. Coolblaze: Hi guys, I had my interview on 21st Aug and funded my BA a week after and sent my confirmation to the embassy(info@lago.diplo.de) on Sept. 3, but the embassy has not confirmed receipt of my funding. I'm thinking of calling /mailing them. Please, any one with similar experience? |
