What does VSC mean?
VSC is short for ‘Vehicle Stability Control,’ which is the stability control system that Toyota uses in their vehicles. Stability control helps your vehicle maintain traction and control by reducing—or completely cutting—power sent to your wheels. It does this by automatically applying brake pressure on up to three wheels. The purpose of the system is to keep your vehicle headed where your wheels are pointed. It’s an essential safety feature that been mandated by law—at least in the USA—since 2012. Naturally, VSC OFF means that the stability control on your Toyota is off.

VSC Light Easy Fix
There will be a button either by your shifter or your steering wheel (depending on the model year of the Toyota) that has the same icon as the light in your gauges. Once you’ve located it:

Make sure you are completely stopped. Put the car in park if you can.
Press and hold the VSC button for a few seconds.
The TRAC OFF and VSC OFF indicator light will come on. Both systems are now off.
Press the VSC button again. Both lights will turn off and the systems are now reengaged.
If the VSC OFF light is still on, it may be a bug with your vehicle’s computer or a malfunction with your vehicle’s VSC system. Take your vehicle into your local Toyota service center to have a certified technician run the codes and pinpoint the issue. Operatives of the Lagos Central Business Districts have dislodged vehicles and traders parked on the Carter bridge in line with the vacation order issued by the Lagos State government to vehicle owners and traders to quit parking on Carter bridge and all other bridges across the state.

Reacting to the removal exercise, the Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Central Business Districts, Mrs Bola Olumegbon Lawal noted that the dislodgement of traders and vehicles parked on the bridge which have positively impacted on the traffic situations within the axis will also restore order on the roads and enhance the well-being of commuters doing business on the island business district.

Mrs Olumegbon Lawal said "CBD will not tolerate the practice of commercial drivers using the end of the Carter and Apongbon bridges as their loading bay for passengers and traders displaying their wares for sales, this not only affect the free flow of traffic for other vehicles trying to access the bridge to other parts of the state from the Island but endangers the structural stability of the bridge".

"CBD with other traffic managers and security agencies will intensify the restriction of parking and loading as well as trading on the bridge which has freed up the roads to other users within the axis". The Special Adviser said further.

Mrs Olumegbon Lawal warns other vehicle owners and traders to stop parking and trading on all the bridges across the Lagos island business district as defaulters will have their vehicles or goods seized and face the full wrath of the law.

Meanwhile, the agency has intensified the clearing of illegal make shift shops and iron kiosks erected on walkways and drainage allignment within the Island business district.

The clean up exercise which started last week has started yieding positive results as the business district have started experiencing a cleaner and serene environment.

LAGOS CBD SEEKS COOPERATION OF MARKET ASSOCIATIONS TO CURB TRAFFIC, ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES

The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Central Business Districts, Hon. Mrs. Bola Olumegbon-Lawal has called on the leadership of market associations within the Ikeja Business District, to prevail on their members to comply with traffic and environment regulations within the business district.

Mrs. Olumegbon-Lawal made the call at a meeting with the leadership of the computer village market association led by the Iyaloja Mrs. Abisola Azeez Raolat

Olumegbon-Lawal who decried the various offences perpetrated by members of the association especially conversion of roads to illegal markets as well as allocating selling points to street traders, thereby obstructing vehicular movements, appealed to the leadership of the associations to prevail on their members to desist from the habit.

She disclosed further that the appeal became necessary because of the belief that market associations in the State are partners in progress and critical stakeholders in the course of finding lasting solutions to the traffic and environmental issues within the business district.

“We are aware that you are our partner in progress and a major stakeholder in finding a lasting solution to the traffic issues within the Ikeja Business District. We recognise that you have control over your members at the local level and I appeal to you to call them to order in ensuring that traffic situation within this axis improves”, she said.

She again called on street traders using the walkways and kerbs to display their goods as well as motorist parking under the bridges to desist from the practice as the state will continue to impound vehicles and goods parked or displayed in unauthorized areas.

Mrs.Olumegbon-Lawal assured that the present administration is poised to making life easy for both residents, shoppers and traders within the Ikeja business district and therefore will not tolerate illegal activities of miscreants parading as “omonile” in any part of the business district.

She disclosed that nobody or group of individuals will be allowed to derail the developmental agenda for Lagos State as enshrined In the ‘’THEME PLUS’’ policy thrust of the state government.

The Iyaloja of Computer village Market Association, Mrs. Abisola Azeez Raolat responding on behalf of association pledged the commitment of members to obey and comply with the traffic and environmental laws of the State.

She disclosed that the market association had already put in motion plan to sanitize the market and its vicinity to ensure that there is free flow of vehicular movement in and out of the market.

LAGOS CBD CLEARS ILLEGAL STRUCTURES AND MAKESHIFT SHOPS UNDER EKO BRIDGE.

Operatives of the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts on Tuesday embarked on the removal and clean-up of illegal structures and make shift shops erected under the Eko bridge by Ebute – Ero/ Ejalonibu and it's environs within Lagos Island Business District.

The exercise was in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu directives to ensure that bridges in Lagos especially within the Lagos Island are free from illegal structures and activities that could constitute environmental nuisance to the area as well as forestall a repeat of fire incident that engulfed the Apongbon bridge last year.

Deputy Director and Head of Administration of CBD operations in Lagos Island, Mrs Abidekun Balikis who lead the removal and clean up exercise noted that the Agency is determine to enforce the zero tolerance stance against street trading and illegal activities under bridges and roads within the state as directed by the Governor.

She noted that CBD is committed to the safeguard of public infrastructures and amenities within the Lagos Island Business District as well as full restoration of the beauty and master plan of the Lagos Island Business District in line with the “THEMES” agenda of the administration.

Mrs Abidekun said the present administration led by Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu's strategic efforts to transform the entire Lagos Island axis to a world class business and tourism hub will not be allowed to be derailed by the activities of illegal traders, street hawkers, mechanics and miscreants.

“These environmental abuses, especially under the bridges by traders and mechanics can no longer be tolerated. We are working with relevant agencies of government, trade unions and leadership of market associations to check these illegalities,” she said.

Mrs Abidekun advised street traders selling and displaying their wares along the roadsides, walkways, and under bridges as well as mechanics, religious bodies and food sellers operating under the bridges and around public buildings in the entire Lagos Island Business District against disobeying government directives to quit their illegal activities or face prosecution.

While warning street urchins and miscreants parading as “omo onile” who are in the habit of allocating spaces to traders under the bridges to desist, the Director maintains that no amount of resistance and intimidation could make the government to rescind its resolve to clean up under bridges within the entire Lagos Island Business District in line with the vision of achieving a mega city status as envisaged in the “THEMES” Agenda of the present administration.

Mrs Abidekun berated the recalcitrant nature of the traders and squatters who had started erecting makeshift shops and illegal structures under the bridge barely few days the bridge was reopened by the Governor to traffic.

She disclosed that the demolition exercise and removal of illegal structures and shops erected on roads, walkways and under the bridges within the Lagos Island Business District which has impacted negatively on the environment and on the free flow of traffic will be a continuous exercise that will be sustained and monitored regularly.

It will be recalled that illegal activities of traders under the Eko bridge resulted in fire incident which gutted a section of the bridge in Apongbon area resulting in the closure of the bridge to traffic which was reopened recently by the Governor.
