kikuyu1:Then their ass is 100% fuccked ![]() One cannot prepare for every possible scenario , not practical operationally. Is it possible in real life ? No . We try to deal with the means at our disposal or resign ourselves to our faith , that's the way of life most of the time. Personally I still consider the ships to be under armed , but if those incharge are ok with it than nothing left to say. I am not in any position of power to enforce my will . A month ago I tried to enforce my will on a 3 year old , I had to run for my dear life . |
kikuyu1:Personally i doubt that ![]() Through the market share will definitely increase , within next 3 years official target is 5 billion dollars international market share. I am already posting aeroindia2021 pics ![]() Last 4 posts are pics from aeroindia even though it's 2 days to open officially. |
kikuyu1:Why would one fire without clearance ? There is a kill chain associated with every weapon system , especially strategic systems. No one explains anything over comms , those days are long gone , direct feed of live data from sensors is sent to relevant HQ , where those in charge are entrusted with authorisation after necessary fire solutions are generated . Once a military is raised to weapons free status , authorisation is within the operator or with the commanding officer in charge. No authorisation beyond that needed. Everything is networked and every element is supposed to be in the loop , any major weapon system functions within the OODA ( observe , orient , decide , act ) loop. Also the fact that your sensors detected and kept the sub under observation while concurrently your weapons are prepped means you had all the time for authorisation. How will the submarine know it has been detected in the first place ? And then how will it know a missile has been fired at its location ? So why will it run at high speeds which only increases its chance of detection in the first place ? |
kikuyu1:Yes me and others believe so This question was put to navy officers who said the reason for that is they have confidence on the capabilities of the weapons onboard . They said that 16 brahmos is more than enough and even with 32 LRSAM ( barak 8 ) SAMs it is adequate because they have cooperative target engagement capabilities , where one ship can provide target coordinates and control a missile fired from another ship for its own use. |

Pics of the new DRDO AEW&CS So the configuration of the radar on the recently sanctioned 6 AEW&CS based on Indian airline owned Airbus A320 is now confirmed more or less. It is going to be beam type same as in Netra AEW&CS but there will be a additional radar panel on the nose of the aircraft and possibly one on the rear of the beam for 360 degree radar coverage.

LCA MK2 has total of 11 weapon hard points, out of which 3 weapon hard points are rated to carry 1.8 ton each !

kikuyu1:The submarine will be detected and under surveillance by various sensors or combination of sensors Eg Satellites MPAs USVs UAVs Underwater sea bed arrays Etc While the missile is mid way in flight coordinates will be updated And it's torpedo released in the general area of detection ( latest known position ) Autonomous torpedos work differently , it doesn't not home directly to its target , the torpedo searches in circles untill it makes sonar contact , upon which the it's search circle moves closer to the contact , it goes on till it acquires a sonar lock. Any autonomous torpedo traverses through a considerable search area before acquiring its target. It basically pursues the target untill it's battery finishes or it hit it's target. At twice the speed of sound 686 ms it will take 5 mns to fly 500 km not counting Brass approval of minimum, another 5 mns to authorise release of 6 mn missilesI not able to understand this portion |
AeroIndia is still 2 days away , work at site still ongoing But teaser pic of LCA MK2 model is here

Six Airbus A320 airliners operated by India’s national carrier Air India will be modified, integrated with sensors and delivered to the Indian Air Force as new airborne early warning & control (AEW&C) aircraft. The Ministry of Defence couple of months back cleared a Rs 10,500 crore program in which DRDO will integrate radars and sensors on six Airbus A320 commercial airliners from national carrier Air India’s current fleet. The six aircraft are to sent to France, where they will be refurbished and modified to Indian Air Force/DRDO specifications. If plans remain on track, the six aircraft will join the IAF to add AEW muscle to the pair of DRDO AEW&C Netra jets in service and three older PHALCON AWACS jets. It is not clear if this new move, supplants earlier plans by the DRDO to deliver an Airbus A330 based AWACS system though the two systems are significantly different in capability and scope. The radar configuration is not known it could be either beam type or radome or flattop .
