A very sad reality of the priorities of our Nigerian rulers leaders.
Politics / Re: What Have You Done For Nigeria Or Your Country In Your Entire Life? by Nemeziz9ja: 1:59pm On Mar 29, 2009
I have mentored youths and I am still trying my best to impart a good legacy to the few that wants it from my experience and way of life.
The problem with Nigeria has a super hydra-headed dragon view and as you try to solve one, another modifies (does not even bother to grow) and replace it. The crop of youths today are even worse in their approach to the issue of corruption; they lack their parents conservatism and believe corruption should be sustainable. I have seen this over and over and I try hard everyday not to lose faith in the entity called Nigeria.
Leadership problem happens to be an evolved form of the basic moral problems; followership.
Followership in Nigeria contributes to the leadership pool and if these leaders rulers emerge from the corrupt lots with perverted values, its clear why we are merry-go rounding. Once the corrupt is elevated, he has to orchestrate a system that will sustain the values that brought him to power and thereby continue the vicious cycle until we desire a change and start a new crop of potential leaders with sincere desire for change and progressive value system.

Good for you and I am sure you are lucky.
Each time I am paying for renewal, I have to emphasize to the contact person that I need to use the internet same day; I guess they have bitten more than they can chew with sign-ups. Starcomms activation never took more than 2 hours back then, but now

The Advanced Fee Fraud legislation blah blah blah section 419 belongs to the Nigerian constitution.
Just Google 419, the result will speak for itself.

Why should the federal government waste taxpayers money to investigate consensual sexual relationship between 2 consenting adults?

Next, carry a loaf of bread on your head!

That is the kind of load Nigeria is being forced to carry around these days. My branding slogan: land of bread without butter, sugar without tea and sheep killing lion.

My consolation is that during OBJ’s administration, Otta farm. . which was almost moribund was rebranded , he also established a Bells university and got the bourgeois to contribute fabulous money to build the best private lib for himself. . while at the same time pretending to attend a theological institution
The more we engage in self deception, the more we sink deeper in anomie and delusion

That is a bull eye. Thank you.

Nigeria; a country of contradictions.
Maybe we do not really understand the meaning of a brand.
A brand is more like a label tagged on something to show what it has, stands for or contain and in Nigeria we can only earn our own kind of brand. All these things Dora is claiming to have in store for Nigeria as a brand is like a communist brainwashing package.
I have been running on a power generator all day, are you telling me that will change my mindset that the environment is hostile to my business and enterprise development.
Denial; God help Nigeria overcome their delusions.

hunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn, interesting you have all said well, I also lost trust in the leadership of this country and I decided not to even vote again that all our leaders are bundles of disappointment until Babatunde Fashola proves me wrong.

Hun, who could ever think that Oshodi could become so free of traffic jam, have you ever tot of having fully Air conditioned buses as commercial bus for common people? Different projects and massive road contruction all at the same time, with hope of option in transport system i.e light rail and ferry system.

This is not religion now I know that with God all things are possible, we can still have a new Nigeria with people like Fashola, you and I, it is possible.

THE CHANGE WE ALL NEED, GOD BLESS NIGERIA AND NIGERIANS.

, good people, good nation.

Good point. Now that Fashola has effected a change in Oshodi, he can then brand Oshodi as a safe place and we can see for ourselves that he is not making it up, but all these noise we are making about the Nigeria brand without changing the basics is nonsense.
You can only brand what you have. Anything different is WINDOW DRESSING.

Sammy107_d:

undecided nothing nothing! would bring an inch of smile to nigerians' faces, even if nigeria becomes the next super power tomorrow! I heard Akunyili's take on the idea, and it was quite pleasing. . .

You are right: Nigeria doesn't need re-branding; the misanthropic cynics called Nigerians- which I'm so unfortunate to share a title with- need re-orienting.

I live in Barbados, you'll be surprised how mediocre its systems are; but they believe in their 'farm-sized' nation, and actually think there's no better place on earth. . . and each citizen strives to keep it that way with discipline, hospitality, personal hygiene, support etc
I've come to appreciate my home too. We have an awful lot! we are just blind, and addicted to lynching politicians at any movement of their pens.
Mr. Barbados resident:
Why can't you just understand the realities of living in a country whose leaders are living in denial and the common man is as disenfranchised like the rest of them?
You live in Barbados and you can tell me living in Nigeria is better, right? You better buy your ticket and come back home to a better Nigeria immediately.
Barbados is one of the countries in the Caribbeans (reminds me of the post office experience again) known as a tourist destination and please tell me if what they tout as available in their country is not there on arrival? Nigeria wants to look good yet, she is wearing a torn skirt, bed wetting at 49, crapping on herself and does not even has a concrete plan of feeding herself in spite of all the resources at her disposal. The realities we have on ground here is our brand; no more, no less.
More grass to Yeah a dull Ass
Its easy to brand Kwara State as a State of Constant POWER Supply; please take your business there! and that is because they do have constant power supply and the facts define the reality.
Politics / Re: Re-branding: N’assembly Seeks Source Of Funding by Nemeziz9ja: 3:20pm On Mar 18, 2009
Total misplacement of priorities.
@ Omo Ibo:
There is no what ifs to the re-branding bullshit.
What can bring our economy out of the doldrums is right and sincere economic policies backed by enabling environment and not hiding behind one finger with slogans.
Politics / Re: Re-branding: N’assembly Seeks Source Of Funding by Nemeziz9ja: 6:03pm On Mar 17, 2009
@ Omo Ibo
You see, this whole mantra of Dora is this, Dora is that is waning out. I have mentioned it before and will continue to say it that she is just asserting her role in the present regime by theRebranding song.
What manner of branding will help a country where constant power supply is a problem, the leaders rulers are seeing the political office as a business investment to make a living and its very clear that the cartels that import power generators are couch-partners with the sitting government?
And, in case you do not know, Dora also has some corrupt practices institutionalized while she was at NAFDAC in spite of the noise she was making outside then. Visit their labs back then; if you do not grease hands nothing will be done on your samples and so forth.
The truth is; Dora is not a saint and what everyone is singing on rebranding is a broken record.
We need the basic necessities of life and not a Nigeria logo whose neon lights will end up being powered by generators.
More stoning for Ya' adua ( rhymes with Yeah, a dull Ass) as he re-brands.

A Nigerian scammer is better than a corrupt politicianthe politician scams the ppl while the yahoo boy brings in foreign exchange.
I said it earlier; these are the kind of statements that justifies a crime as lesser and doesn't help the scammers to seek genuine change.
