Been looking for this comment oh! In the same boat as well and it’s been over a month too. I’ve seen that some people here have gotten recently. I was thinking of raising a CSE next week. Have you gotten any update on your medicals?

Hi all,

Please is there anyone here with AOR on the 25th March?

I’m worried I haven’t gotten a BIL, it’s been over a month and I’m seeing others getting a BIL almost immediately.

Thanks

Wouldn’t you want a longer validity on your medicals? If you do it now, the one year validity starts counting and when your application is finally processed; you might be required to do remedicals. So just wait

Kudos to everyone who has been contributing here all these while.
Is it a good decision to do upfront medicals during this period of COVID-19 with no hope of when the next FSW draw will hold?
I would be grateful to have answer(s) to this question because it has been bothering me for some time now due to my CRS which looks set to receive ITA upon the next draw.

It's been a struggle getting my passport. It's a little over a month now since I applied for name change in Abuja, still no show. I had to pay an extra 25k for fast tracking and my in-house contact was still slacking. So I made my way to her officer and asked her for my money;and thankfully she refunded everything. I then proceeded to look for someone higher after she said she was going to hands off completely. The higher person instructed that she still has to follow up cos I started with her.I was told to check back on Monday. The struggle still continues.Naija, which way?

pls good people in the house can someone clearify this for me.
sombody has residence Visa in her passport.
and intends to return to nigeria for change of name and get a newpassport with the new name.
will she face problems with immigration entrying back into her country of residence with the new pasport bearing the new name, as d old pasport with old name and residence visa will expire soon.

thanks good people.

The implication of that is you will have a different name from the name you use to bear when you do the name change. You might scale through the immigration officers at the airport in Nigeria but what about the immigration guys in the country you reside in? Wouldnt it show a different name from what they have on their system?I am not sure how it works especially as I don't know what Country you reside in. Just check the terms for name change in your resident country. A name change is really no problem in Nigeria. The problem is the country you live in cos they might require some documentation of some sort.

You do not need a tax certificate as an employee, your pay-slips or other payment records are supposed to show tax compliance except you are working for a petty company.

your greatest undoing was your cancelled hotel reservation.

that's the main reason why you got refused. all the added reasons in the refusal letter were just 'topup'.

even if you earned 1m with 10m bank statement, you would still have been refused as a result of the ECO's inability to confirm your hotel reservation.
Yes, I am well aware. Not my fault though. Bank could preauthorize within shortest time. I kept calling the hotel to be patient but they were not having it. Better luck next time for me I guess

Great tips. As much as I want to agree with you. I'd like to say that it really does not apply. Several people have budgeted over 5 times what they earn and still get it. I feel like it might have a little more to do with the officers state of mind cos it's so freaking ridiculous what these guys say to refuse you. How can you be asking me for assets when I havent even worked for over two years. How can you be asking for home tie when I have a job and they know how hard it is to lay your hands on a job in Nigeria. How can they be questioning how much I want to spend when my account balance clearly shows that I can afford it. Everybody knows that you can get good things when you travel. There is really no cast in stone method when it comes to refusal. Just be try your best to convince them and you shall get your visa. it is very unjust and I feel like there should be some form of government intervention. You can't keep giving absurd reasons why Nigerians shouldn't travel because you want to collect visa money from us. It's really unfair. There should be a standard. Enough said

Be aware that the number one priority of Visa Officers is the Homeland Security, therefore, the first resort of the officers is to google-search every applicant's name and to see what comes up.
A lot of people have never google-searched their own names and therefore, are not aware that in this age of internet social networking, a simple entering of one's name and surname into a search engine will produce numerous results whether related or unrelated to the very person.
You might not yet be aware of what comes out of your name when it is google searched: most of the featured results are not of your own voluntary information.
Take a moment after reading this article and Google-search your own name and surname, and you may be surprised to see what comes up.
I know a Nigerian someone who entered Ireland through the UK to seek political asylum, his claimed was foiled by google search results that did not favour his pleaded case and as a result, he was asked to leave Ireland: the point is, this is a regular guy (who fits the profile of a nobody) who never thought that anything about him could make it to google search.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Visa Officers are trained to look for a single reason why a visa should be refused rather than to consider it for 99 other reasons. Therefore, for those who hold the opinion that their visa applications had been unjustifiably refused for what they consider "silly" reasons such as the "three times monthly salary" issue etc.
It is true that budgeting an amount of money that is "three times your monthly income" is actually not a good reason to refuse a visa application, yet this issue usually comes into consideration when a visa applicant does not have impressive amount of money as balance. For example, if a person earns N200k monthly, and he budgets N580k for the intended trip while he presents a bank statement with a balance of N650k, he stands a very high chance to be refused for reason of the vast impact that the amount of money will have on his account as it would take him more than three salaries to recover the amount that he intends to spend for a short trip, where as, a person who earns N120k monthly with an account balance of N1.5M can easily get the visa if the application is reasonably presented.
The formula.
Before applying for a visa, look at how much you earn monthly, consider it against your account balance and compare it to the amount that you intend to spend for the trip.
Great tips. As much as I want to agree with you. I'd like to say that it really does not apply. Several people have budgeted over 5 times what they earn and still get it. It is so funny when an entry clearance officer says that the total amount available for the tripis 5X your disposable income. Let me explain, salary is 162,000 And you indicate that you spend 60,000 monthly, leaving you with a disposable income of about 100,000. You propose to spend about 550,000 including flight ticket, hotel bills and living expenses. you have been working for over a year o. This guys will take into consideration only one month's disposable income and compare it with what you propose instead of the disposable income that you have saved over the period of time of employment, even when you show them an account where the monies are saved. This is ridiculous.

ekpotek:

I think it's important for all UK visa applicant to know how to fill the INCOME AND EXPENDITURE part of the application form. Many applicants are refused because of their inconsistency in filling this part. I will try to provide some explanations here:

DO YOU HAVE SAVINGS, PROPERTIES OR OTHER INCOME, FOR EXAMPLE FROM STOCKS AND SHARES? This question is to find out if you have other sources of funds to finance your trip apart from your usual earnings. This could be savings, renting of properties, lands or stocks. If you have any of these sources of funds, then answer YES and provide documents to support your answer. Give estimate what amount this will translate on a monthly basis.

HOW MUCH DO YOU SPEND EACH MONTH ON LIVING COSTS? This question is to find out what is your average monthly expenditure from your current income. For applicants that earn salary, you should be able to estimate how much you spend on living every month. Those that are self employed, can also provide an estimate.

HOW MUCH OF YOUR TOTAL MONTHLY INCOME IS GIVEN TO YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS AND OTHER DEPENDENTS? If you have dependents, such a parents, relations that you cater for, state how much money in GBP you must send to them monthly otherwise fill NOT APPLICABLE.

WHAT IS THE COST TO YOU PERSONALLY OF YOUR TRIP IN GBP(£)? If someone else is fully sponsoring your trip, obviously the cost to you personally is ZERO. In such case, your sponsor must submit documentation, e.g bank statement, and a letter written to UK embassy clearing stating why he/she is sponsoring the trip and any other justification. If the applicant is sponsoring himself, then the applicant must state how much the trip will cost (accommodation, flight ticket, meals, taxi, etc).

THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU HAVE FOR THIS TRIP? The amount you enter here must correspond to "cost to you personally" if you are sponsoring yourself. If there is a sponsor, enter the amount the sponsor will make available to you.

THE COST OF THE AEROPLANE, BOAT OR TRAIN TICKETS. Enter the cost of flight ticket (Return ticket)

THE COST OF YOUR ACCOMMODATION. Enter the cost for accommodation (obtained from the hotel) or zero if staying with someone. Then you must submit documentation from that person, such as tenancy agreement, mortgage document, utility bill and a letter from that person to the embassy stating that they will accommodate you for the period stated in your application.

THE COST OF YOUR LIVING EXPENSES. Enter cost for eg. taxi, bus, shopping etc

IS SOMEONE OTHER THAN YOU PAYING FOR ALL OR A PART OF YOUR TRIP? If you have a full sponsorship or partial sponsorship, then the answer to this question is YES, otherwise enter NO

WHAT IS THE TOTAL AMOUNT IN GBP(£)? Enter the total amount by adding the cost flight ticket, accommodation, living expenses. Ensure that this amount does not exceed the cost you computed for the trip.

Also any amount you enter, you must provide the currency, usually it better to provide the amount in GBP to avoid confusion. If you need to explain any thing else, use the addition information page and/or a sheet to paper. I hope these will answers some the questions applicants have on INCOME AND EXPENDITURE SECTION.
cheesy cheesy
very brilliant. And if you are rejected, can you change the amounts previously entered with reasons though

Money from friends and family is not considered as an income, that is more of a cash gift and it can't act as your tie to Nigeria but your salary will which is why the amount you earn is considered.

As it stand your salary is your only verifiable source of income.
Good evening Just wise,
I am back again O. No vex. I earn about 162,000 monthly, I would just recalculate part 4 which is my income and expenditure to fit into my disposal income. I mistakenly included cost of flight and hotel when asked how much I will be spending personally on my trip to the UK, so that inflated my expenses. I will also indicate that I just renewed my rent and also currently taking ACCA classes with documents to back my ties even though I know it doesn't really count. If all that doesnt work. I will just rest mbok.

Yes but the eyes are on your monthly income, 3.1 million is joint account yes but how much of that money is yours and how will you prove that?
A letter from the other signatory stating explicitly how much of my savings I was entitled to and her bio data page. I went through their immigration guide and using a joint statement has never been a prerequisite for refusal. My spending is restricted on that account hence my decision to still maintain it as opposed to just opening another account and transfering money just for the purpose of visa application.

Your application was refused mainly for financial reasons, you don't have enough for the trip. Canceling the hotel booking also contributed to the refusal because it shows that you can't even afford to accommodate yourself in the UK
For the cancellation, the hotel could not charge my debit card. My bank did not authorize the transaction hence the reason why it was cancelled. Using credit cards are usually preferable

Hi Justwise and Vicjustice. I have just been refused a visa on the following:

Please guide me as to how to reapply. I want to reapply on Thursday and book my appointment for Friday.
For the joint account. I have runned that account since 2011. The same account I used for my tier 4 visa application in 2011 and it has been functional since then. I put my savings in that account because it is not easily accessible and I find that I spend less on that account. I submitted two account statements. One that had my salary with a balance of 99,000 and the this joint account. Am I not allowed to hold my savings anywhere I please? They also spoke on assets and no dependant, can I show them my car documents and my newly renewed tenancy agreement. If that can convince them that I ain't going nowhere. It's quite frustrating. Pls guide me through my next application pls

Hi Guys!
I really do not want to be a bearer of bad news but from a very very reliable source( a friend currently working at PCL), people who received the messages are the successful ones.
There is nothing like sms been sent in batches and the ones yet to receive are most likely the unsuccessful ones.
Also, the highest level of nepotism was involved in the selection process according to him.
As a PCL customer care executive , Erin, said (I called ,'01-2703667' yesterday), dey will be sending invites in batches till March 12(lwtmb - d generic reponse to all intending applicants).
So guys, if you know anyone in nnpc, now is the time to re-awaken the nnpc networks as anythn is still possible between now and March 12, God willing.
*my humble contribution.......
(Still awaiting my sms with faith tho
we have heard you ok?Find something better to do. Run your own race and stop raining on expectant peoples parade. Gosh!!!!

This information is misleading. If you cursorily glanced at the 2011 thread you'd have seen that the invites came in batches depending on dates and discipline. There are no new SMSs to be sent. I know you mean well but you are selling some people on false hope. If per adventure, someone had lost his/her number(s)that was used to apply for this job, then he/she should be looking forward to seeing the email invites for the Interview when it will be sent. It doesn't mean that PCL are still sending texts. They didn't send any more texts post
