A GOOD ADVICE, WHICH WOULD WORK FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE LOTS OF GUIDANCE BUT IT IS THE BEST WAY TO KNOW THE BIBLE. THE BOOK OF GENESIS FROM CHAPTER 1 TO CHAPTER 11 AND THEN SKIP TO THE BOOK OF REVELATION ALL THE BOOK FROM CHAPTER 1 TO 22. WITHIN THOSE 33 CHAPTERS IS THE WHOLE STORY OF THE BIBLE. EVERYTHING ELSE IN BETWEEN EXPANDS ON THOSE 33 CHAPTERS. NOW THATS A SHORTCUT WAY TO UNDERSTAND AND GET A FRAMEWORK OF WHAT THE WHOLE BOOK IS ABOUT. THATS HOW I WOULD TRY TO DO IT TODAY IF I HAD TO.
2-NOT EVERY WORD IN THE BIBLE IS WHAT YOU THINK IT MEANS. MOST OF IT IS OLD ENGLISH AND WORDS DONT MEAN THE SAME ANYMORE AS THEY DID BACK THEN. A FEW EXAMPLE WOULD BE 'SEA' MEANS A POPULATION OF PEOPLE, WATER MEANS KNOWLEDGE OR DOCTRINE, MOUNTAIN MEANS COUNTRY, TREES MEAN MEN, ETC ETC.
3-TO GROUND YOUR STUDY TO THE WORLD YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHO IS WHO IN THE BIBLE. THERE ARE NO NIGERIANS, GHANAIANS, SOMALIANS, KENYANS, JAMAICAN ETC ETC IN THE BIBLE. ALL THESE ARE MAN MADE NAMES THAT ARE ONLY HUNDREDS OF YEARS OLD. WHAT WERE YOU CALLED BEFORE THESE NAMES CAME ABOUT ? WHEN YOU KNOW THIS YOU WILL BE ABLE TO GROUND YOUR STUDIES TO WHATS HAPPENING TODAY, WHAT HAPPENED IN THE PAST AND WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE. EDOMITES ARE CAUCASIANS, ISHMAELITES ARE ARABS, ISRAELITES ARE NEGROS, CUSHITES ARE THE SOMALIANS-ETHIOPIANS-SOMALIANS-KENYANS, ETC ETC

I read up on some of your prior posts and l tell ya, the few pages l could read carry such substance and simplicity that l have found a renewed interest in the bible. Used to be/still a passive christian.

Just getting started on KJV after reading one of your posts. Very grateful if you could provide a fledgling like me with some pointers/advice. Really want to be a follower of God and not of man. To this end, l need to study the word myself, with, of course, guidance from a learned man/prophet like yourself.
