Recently Governor Wike of Rivers State complained bitterly over the 10 billion naira given to Lagos State to help fight the pandemic. https://www.nairaland.com/5777009/wike-fg-politicising-covid-19-response

Here is my opinion on how the matter can be resolved:

1. FG should relocate all infected patients from Lagos to Rivers state.

2. Send 10 billion naira to Rivers State account.

3. Patients from other states currently receiving treatment in Lagos should also be moved to Rivers.

This fund is about the fight to contain the spread of the virus and efforts to treat infected patients, but sadly Governor Wike like some other politicians are seeing it as an avenue to enrich themselves.

Corona is never the end of the world the fact that the whole World is shaking does not mean corona will end the world.

Are you scared that the world is coming to an end, do you feel like this is the worst disease outbreak No, it's not close to even top 20 epidemics.

Let me share with you the world's worst pandemics of all times.

1. ANTONINE PAGUE: This occurred in 165AD and claimed 5million lives. It swept over Asia, yougypt, Greece and Italy. Just in case u think it's the first time Italy is leading.

2. PLAGUE OF JUSTINIAN: It occurred between 541 to 542, just in 1years 25 million people were dead. Each day, death toll counted 10,000.

3. THE FLU PANDEMIC: It's was between 1918 to 1920, just 100 years ago. By that time the world had 1-5 billion and that was 1/3 of the total population. In the first week alone, there was a record 25 million deaths, worse than first world War it self.

Corona virus is mostly killing the elderly and those already weakened by other diseases but the Spanish flu respected no age group, it claimed 50 million lives.

4. THE 3RD PLAGUE OF 1855: This one also started from china and killed 10 million Indians is less than one year. You wouldn't want to hear the total number of global death. By now you want to ask me whether the world ended, the answer is it didn't, lol

5. THE BLACK DEATH: This was by far the worst. It occurred from 1346-1353, that was 7 years long pandemic. It was caused by bubonic plague transmitted by fleas. By that time, the world's population was 400 million, then 200 million died. Half of the world's population died. If the world was to end with a disease, it would end that time not with corona.

It is said that during that plague, the living spent most of their time hurrying the dead in mass graves and yet others were left unburied.

6. HIV AIDS: You didn't expect this one, did you? Perhaps u forgot about it but the disease still rear it's ugly head across the world. The peak record deaths was btn 2005-2012. In 7 years, 36 million people died but it didn't terrify u because it was not no news like corona.

By today, corona death is close to half a million, no. Whenever you feel frightened by corona, just know that it will never be recorded among world's top 20 pandemic, it's not close. The world is not ending with it we shall live on. Well, people are dying but not even half will die. We shall remain.

The pandemic is very alarming. We are not ready even as individuals.

As the spread of Corona Virus continues and everyone encouraged to stay at home, I fear that there will be increase in Population after the lockdown is lifted, especially if it lingers for a while.

With couples and lovers locked at home doing little to nothing, who knows how much gymnastics is going on.

I am sure producers of contraceptives like condoms will be making a killing.

1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold

2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose.

3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 degrees. It hates the Sun.

4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne.

5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap.

3. With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing.

4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're drowning. It's imperative you then seek immediate attention.


Additional Tips

The new Coronavirus may not show sign of infection for many days. How can one know if he/she is infected? By the time they have fever and/or cough and go to the hospital, the lung is usually 50% Fibrosis and it's too late.

Experts provide a simple self-check that we can do every morning.

Take a deep breath and hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it successfully without coughing, without discomfort, stiffness or tightness, etc., it proves there is no Fibrosis in the lungs, basically indicates no infection.

In critical time, please self-check every morning in an environment with clean air.
Everyone should ensure your mouth & throat are moist, never dry.

Take a few sips of water every 15 minutes at least. Why? Even if the virus gets into your mouth, drinking water or other liquids will wash them down through your throat and into the stomach. Once there, your stomach acid will kill all the virus. If you don't drink enough water more regularly, the virus can enter your windpipe and into the lungs. That's very dangerous.
