STOP TAKING OGOGORO.... IT KILLS denko: Senators who stayed away from Tuesday’s inauguration of the national assembly have finally been sworn in by the new senate president, Bukola Saraki. Ahmad Lawan, who was the preferred APC candidate, and George Akume, who was the preferred deputy, were both sworn in on Wednesday morning. They were absent at the inauguration as the ruling party had called for an emergency meeting simultaneously. APC had, in a press statement on Tuesday evening, instructed the absentee senators to report for the traditional swearing-in.

Politics › Re: Saraki Group Rejects APC Primaries As Lawan Emerges Winner, See Press Release by networkrecharg: 10:22am On Jun 07, 2015 |
Open ballot will promote rancor and anguish, because u will physically know your political opppnent. Hence its intimidating. saraki and femi gbaja are fully democratic... THEY SHALL WIN Clerverly: PRESS RELEASE BY APC SENATORS-ELECT OF LIKE MINDS
We the Senators-Elect of Like Minds today 6TH of June 2015, on the invitation of our party, attended an interactive meeting with selected 5 members from each group, the Unity Forum and the Like Minds Group. Regrettably, the Unity Forum insisted on open ballot voting which we discovered is different from the electoral process used to conduct the earlier election with the House of Representatives members elect. To us, this open ballot voting is primitive; undemocratic and against universal electoral norms and practice.
In the light of the above, we the Senators elect of Like Minds hereby insist on our position of Open Secret voting process which we believe is in consonance with the provisions of the electoral act, the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the universal electoral values. As responsible citizens of Federal Republic of Nigeria, and leaders in our own right, we have resolved and hereby state that we shall not be part of a process that promotes undemocratic electoral process that may resort to rancorous and uncivil situations which inhibits the rights of individuals to vote for the candidate of their choice, as this process will further divide us than unite members of our party.
In conclusion we the Senators-Elect of Like Minds wish to state categorically that we will participate only in the constitutional election scheduled for Tuesday, the 9th of June 2015 in line with the rules of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We by this press release invite the media to a joint press conference by the 65 Senators-Elect of Like Minds drawn from across party lines on Monday morning, the 8thof June 2015
SIGNED, Senator-Elect Dino Melaye Senator-Elect Ahmed Rufai Sani ON BEHALF OF SENATORS-ELECTS OF LIKE MINDS |

PDP REMAINS A DISGRACE TO NIGERIANS |
Politics › Re: Open Campaign For The Adoption Of Sen Saraki And Hon Dogara As PDP Candidates by networkrecharg: 9:39am On Jun 07, 2015 |
barcanista: This thread is to officially call on noble PDP fans, Supporters, admirers and all patriotic citizens to endorse the candidacy of Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki(APC Kwara) and Honorable Yakubu Dogara (APC, Bauchi) for the positions of Senate President and House Speaker respectively.
Why Senator Saraki and Honorable Dogara: The emergence of Senator Saraki will mean a major crack in the APC structure and the quest for dominance of this political era. Saraki knowing fully well that he wasn't the APC "nominee" will be more liberal and less partisan because he knows that he needs the PDP Senators to survive. The PDP cannot afford not to reinvent their influence and prepare for 2019.
Honorable Yakubu Dogara, a Christian from Bauchi state has pledged to adopt Hon Leo Ogar (PDP, Delta state) as the Deputy Senate President. He has also pledged that Chairmanship of House Committees will be in 50:50 sharing formular between the PDP and APC. Like Saraki, he isn't the nominee of the APC. His emergence will nullify the APC planned expansion and will whittle their proposed structure. The PDP can't afford to lose this opportunity to assert their influence in the 8th Assembly.
Can We Succeed? Of the 60 APC Senators, a group of 35 under the Umbrella of "Like Minds" consisting of Senators from the three geo-political zones in the North (NC, NW and North East) have endorsed Senator Saraki. PDP has 49 members of the Senate, 18 from South South, 15 SE, Ekiti 3, Ondo 1, Ogun 1, Taraba 3, and one each for Yobe, Nasarawa and Benue states. A bloc vote of at least the Senators from SS and SE plus the 35 already from the APC Saraki group is more than enough to return Saraki elected. Considering the game of politics, all 49 PDP Senators should not fail to vote for Senator Bukola Saraki on Tuesday.
For the House Speakership, of 214 APC Members, 154 endorsed Gbajabiamila. The 125 PDP Reps (SS 52, SE 38, NC 8, SW 20 and 8 from NE) should endeavour not to miss this opportunity to have a say in the House, for the benefit of themselves and the Party. South South and South East PDP contingents must not disappoint Hon Leo Ogar. They all should mobilise and participate in the election. The Hon Dogara group already has 55-61 APC Reps in their ranks. With the block 125 votes from PDP in addition to the 55-61 pro Dogara APC, the "PDP" will coast to victory and be the defacto leader of the NASS.
We cannot afford to lose this golden opportunity to control the two chambers of the National Assembly. We lost the Presidency, we can't afford to lose the Senate and the House.
I hereby use this medium to call on well meaning Nigerians and the PDP supporters to endorse this proposal.
#PDP Shall Rise Again #PDP Shall Lead Again #God Bless PDP PDP HAS FAILED AND WILL COMINTINUES FAILING TILL 3090 |

U are correct shaaaa. but i want gbajabiamila to emerge for the general good of nigerians.
there is nothing like burn to rule. PRESIDENT NORTH SENATE PRESIDENT NORTH ETC NORTH PLS GIVE GBAJA THIS ONE.
[quote author=atbu1983 post=3451237 I think you are being Myopic to believe emergence of dogara will favour PDP. i bliv d North is playing a smart one.
If PDP decide to give Dogara block vote, they will only be doing Buhari and d North a big favour. The truth is dat Gbajabiamala is more likely to oppose Buhari than Dogara. If i am Buhari, i will secretly wish Dogara wins. And Dogara will be loyal to APC even if most of his votes comes from PDP.
In d case of Tambuwal and Jonathan, Tambuwal only opposed Jonathan because he is from North west. And for him to be love in Sokoto and bcome governor, he knew he can only get that by opposing Jonathan. And it work for him.
In d case of dogara, he will work in d general interest of d North. which will be giving Buhari all d support he needs.
d PDP reps are not silly enough to support Dogara. because Gbajabiamala will favour PDP more. because when Southwest have issue with Buhari in d future, they will use Gbajabiamala alongside PDP members to fustrate Buhari.[/quote] |
