Mine also have similar temperament, unless you provoke her or attack anyone close to her. Agera is her name, a direct descendant from the bloodline of Tk's New Yorker.

Damn!!! See the build... That's a nice dog there man... Totally love the box head.

Some rotts I see these days don't have box heads and I sometimes wonder if they're even close to the pure breed

Can you please post a picture of Major too?

Here's Major... Dude has lost almost all his muscle mass and is spending a lot of time alone now

Please I don’t get you, are you saying my first dog should not be a Rottweiler? May I be educated please? Thanks a million as I look forward to your response and enlightenment.

It's just that you might not have enough experience to deal with a very self willed dog.. The rottweiler breed is a breed that has their own mind and it takes a very stern owner to let them know that not all their wants or wills will be granted

He's well behaved with me and my wife sha, barks at almost every other person in the compound, listens to commands when he wants to embarassed we stroll together and he's easily distracted

Well.. If you stay in the compound with other people.. I guess he s hi ould be adjusting to seeing the occupants of the compound around..... A distracted dog. Lol.. Yeah... Perfectly normal..

A chicken or a lizard will distract Khal too

Never heard of a "calm" Rott.
I liked your narration about Khal. Made him sound like a bro next door.
I am seriously liking the dog.
You are lucky - you have a true and loyal pal for the next couple of years smiley

Lol. Khal is calm... Especially when he sees food... Lol.

Thanks man

Let me test if it's truly a Rottweiler.

A Rottweiler can lick you to death, true or false? Your time starts now

Lmao.. Give Khal the chance and he'd lick your whole face while resting his whole body on you

In ur opinion, what is d best breed for the first owner of dog?
If you love large dogs, a GSD is a great start

Psoul:

This is beautiful
I have two Rott. They are 8months.
Pple will always tell me that you are making your dog to know people and that will make him not to be aggressive.
I use to tell them I don't want aggressive dogs. I want smart, intelligent and security conscious dogs.
My two dogs are very intelligent. Dey don't bark unnecessarily. When they do, check out there must be something very wrong around.
They can never pee nor poo in their cage. They will always let you know that they are pressed. They do it only on the portion of the house mapped out for peeing and pooing.
You dear not attack or shout at any member of the family in their presence.
Dey don't eat food or drink water that is not in their bowls.
They know our clothes, shoes and slippers. They pick them from outside, return them inside.
As a stranger, u dare not cross the area they believe is their security territory without a member of the house.
When you bring them outside, they remain calm, no barking or attack cos they were socialize to know their territory.

I don't know why Africans love their dogs to be aggressive.
Aggressive dog can even at a point become problem to the owner.
I have seen a dog owner inviting a hunter to come and kill his dog cos he has become uncontrollable.
That is effect of wanting your dog to be aggressive.

Man.. They're exactly like my Khal here... I also noticed when Khal is in a new environment, he's calm but doesn't act like it's his... He's just confident and won't mind anyone who's not posing as a threat..... But the moment he gets back into his territory... He starts his parade. Lol.

While he was a puppy, I got a lot of unsolicited advices from random people telling me to cage him up and use canopy to cover the cage so he wouldn't see anyone so he'd be aggressive and I wondered what the craze was all about.

Why would I purposefully breed a notorious dog? For what reason... A notorious dos is a very insecure one and it can do and undo even to its owner.

The best part of everything is how Khal stands at alert when something has changed in the environment like he's telling everyone "Back up... Back up!! Something is wrong... Let me find out what it is"

You trained your dogs well sir

Pedigree is the best breed...How does one identify which is which?
Pedigree is a dog with traits that the breeder has liked and preserved from generations... This is why they are more expensive because they're dogs the breeders can vouch for.

It's then up to the breeder to tell you if he knows the generations of the dog and can vouch for its characters

Spectacular. I lost mine to parvo but I'm planning to get another. It seems you trained Kahl very well. How did you do it

Damn. I'm so sorry about the death of your dog.

With the help of his love for food, his will to please and a cane for when he really crosses his boundaries like maybe chewing on slippers and shoes.... Something he used to do a lot when he was much younger
Pets / Re: Meet My Indoor Rottweiler - Khal Drogo by NevetsIbot(m): 6:37pm On Sep 30, 2020

Hmmmn pls I had to chain my GSD Raiden for a while and he was disturbing with so much noise that I had to use cane, is dat what you termed as abuse here??

Hahahaha. Cane is very necessary if the dog needs it... We are not whites that'll avoid beating.

The beating should not be much but enough for her to know that she's done something wrong.

And only beat immediately when she's done something bad... Don't wait for after hours or so... Instant so she'll register the action with the cane... And then later you can only start saying "no"

It seems our Female GSD has aggression issues and very territorial. She is playful and social with us but very mean to our friends even though she has seen them couple of times .she barks a lot always full of energy ,alert and kinda restless.
And she is just 9months old .I can't take her for a walk because of how aggressives he is ,she wants to attacks any moving thing she sees.I don't know if it is normal.
She bite our other dog a mastif(very calm) we do see scars ...I don't know what to do ...

Wow.. Please socialise you puppy.. She needs to know that not everyone is a potential dangerous person... Bring a few of your friends who are not afraid of dogs... Hold your dog by the neck collar and gently introwyour friend to her with the other hand - Fingers to nose.

And oh.. You might need to hold a cane handy.

Nice I love this. I am a dog person as well. I have 2 huge German shepherds. When I take them out for early morning, evening and weekend walks people get surprised at how well trained they are, perfect leash control walking by my side. I trust them more than I trust humans cool

Lol... Same thing with Khal.. Only thing is that Khal takes short stops to mark particular spots as his territory.

But every one on the streets run away o.. I wonder why Ondo people are like that

Thanks for the compliment man. Lol.. There's a lot of things to gain from Nairaland once one can learn to ignore the annoying parts
