Hello everyone.. short story actually... I ran into a pick pocket last week Monday. This guy acted like a snake was wrapped round my leg and like he was trying to help...

"ah.. your leg, your leg" as he frantically grabbed on to my leg.

I kicked him off angrily after noticing nothing was wrong and this was even barely 4seconds after he grabbed my leg. After dissing him... He immediately sat on a bike that parked behind me...( I've been standing there looking for a bike ride for more than ten minutes)... Immediately he mounted the bike, I heard him whisper "oya oya " to the rider. Immediately I suspected foul play.

I tapped my pockets and noticed both phones (an iPhone XR and a small Tecno android in my left pocket were gone as I watched them zoom off. Someone offered to ride me on his bike while pursuing them but they got away... I for stone them with my travelling bag assuming I near them sha.


After... Every attempt to talk to people to borrow me their phones to call my bank was a fluke cos everyone I met there thought I was trying to maybe steal their phones ... I had to wait till I got to the next town by 6pm to use a friend's phone to call my bank and got my account blocked .

Got to my bank the next day after buying a budget redmi 10 to set up my accounts.. next thing I found out was my balance wasn't what I expected.

That lowlife withdrew 150k from my account. And if not for the daily limit on ussd and agent withdrawals, he would have cleared the account or waited till 12am.

I just got the account details that the money was transferred to... An Opay account, so obviously, the phone number of the guy is with me. He's a ghost, he isn't on Facebook or on WhatsApp.


The big question now is if I can trust the Nigerian police and go ahead with spending to trace this guy, or set him up or just rely on better conc swear to deal with him.

Anyone been in this situation? Did the police do anything reasonable? Was your bank able to reverse it? Cos my bank say I need a court order and stuffs like that.

Then I realized I have never really had any feminist discussion with any Nigerian lady and then I had discussions with quite a lot of them and noticed that there was a particular way most Nigerian girls view this Feminism movement and I’d term it SELECTIVE FEMINISM

In these discussions, These ladies wanted to be equal to men in everything (equal pay, equal social standards and what not). All of which are actually the goals of Feminism but then they get super defensive when the concept of feminism doesn’t seem to Favour them.

They only seemed to claim to be feminists when matters that would benefit was the topic but when it came to DOING THE SAME WORKLOAD to earn equal pay - They’d claim that their bodies were weaker and that the men who chose to do heavier jobs just didn’t have other alternatives!

When it came to relationships... They did not see the need to clean and cook for their man but still wanted the man to do the usuals (drop money and get so many gifts) and they feel justified in this sentence “WHY WOULD I BUY A MAN A GIFT OF SPEND ON HIM?” Or claim that the average man’s ego will not let him accept anything from them..... I have never seen a man reject a little gift from his girlfriend though.

When it came to involuntary military service that some men had to face in their countries. They claimed it was (albeit insensitive) not happening in their country and it was the cup of tea of the men in those countries while also claiming their women were holding the fort! How? By breathing and cleaning the house? Things they’d still do if they lived alone.

Then, the most amazing part was the fact that these ladies seemed to be believe natural factors they had to face like childbirth, weaker bodies and menstruation were one of the reasons they had to just be equal!

Few days later she confronted me laughing that why did I call her dad, I told her it was in her best interest, I noticed her family stopped calling me after that, it was later I got to find out she had told them the reason she wasn’t spending time at home was because I was touching her at night. What pained me about the whole thing was that her father did not even confront me or anything, he just believed her, few months later I kicked her out as she was barely at home and I was tired of explaining to different girls that the female clothes bags and shoes in my house belonged to my sister and not my girlfriend as they had never met her and so they assumed I had a girlfriend I was hiding.
Long story short I got vindicated as some months later that same girl was disowned by her father for being out of control after they fought many times when she got back from school, this same girl has apologized to me countless times and has tried on so many occasion to befriend me again, I just told her I hold no grudges against her but I don’t want us to be in contact.
