I keep wondering why dogs in Nigeria are always aggressive while the same breeds of dog here only get aggressive on purpose. When I recently moved, I used to be afraid of every big dog based on my Nigerian experience (ok, I still am lol) and the owners kept telling me how socialised they were. Just yesterday, a neighbour allowed his three dogs (two dobermanns and a rottweiler) to come near me and he was shocked by the way I used my native language to seriously warn him not to try that nonsense next time!

Many dog owners in Nigeria keep their dogs on chain all day and treat them next to shit and also do not socialise them well enough... Even the local ones...... That's why many of them end up being too aggressive... No care, no love... Only discipline.

Well. You might have had her in the hopes of keeping her as an outdoor dog.. Its normal that she'd cry and not want to mess up her cage... Dogs don't like to litter a place they sleep in....

Seems Khal is not an alpha male. Mine was an alpha, very ugly, very aggressive to outsiders and very territorial. Despite the fact that our cleaner had been visiting since he was a wee pup, he always barked up a storm that could be heard all around the neighborhood anytime she came into the compound. As long as you are not a member of his family (us), you are his enemy. As he grew bigger, he graduated to running to the gate and shaking it with pure menace when strangers knocked at the gate. Even when he was dying of poison, he still managed to mark a few areas in the compound before crawling under the vehicle and falling into a coma. He fought with death for close to 24 hours and even in a coma, it took two people to restrain him as he fought and cried in pain.

It's almost a month now but water still comes out of my eyes (like now) each time I remember Gift. He did not deserve the way he died. He loved and protected us with a single minded fierceness.

The last pic is him in a coma in the early hours of the morning. He died at almost midnight of that same day. My heart still bleeds.

But there's a misconception you just talked about.. About khla not being an Alpha male because he's not unduly aggressive.

If this is the same rott of yours I read of some months ago, I'd say your rott had aggression issues and was highly territorial..

Khal would stand his ground with any dog even as a puppy, would accept you as a visitor so long you're not posing any threat, but if you do, only I can stand in his way.....

When he was 8months old, he was on a walk with me, a friend saw me and walked up to me and threw his hands at me for a handshake but he was very fast, Khal launched at him immediately as ferocious as ever...

That my dear Ishlove is how an emotionally balanced dog should behave.... No unnecessary sign of aggression unless it's obvious this person is there to harm.

Your dog should not bark at anyone you are friendly towards until there's a reason to....

Again... So sorry for the death of your dog... I can understand how you feel

Well.. He eats basically his indomie mixed with lost of dry fish crumbs... And on days that he doesn't eat that, he eats anything else we cook.

He bathes Twice a week.

And no.. Khal brings his belt to anyone at home when he needs to poo.. So we know that he needs to go out either to pee... He brought his belt a few mins ago and I just took him out.... And I'm replying this as he's doing business.. Lol.

Nah. I don't live alone.... He's a very clean dog, bathes regularly, uses his perfume regularly...... He's an indoor dog and I don't joke with his cleanliness

Now that he's older... I don't have to pretend to eat anything.... He loved can food at once, I didn't have to pretend to eat....

I had to pretend to eat his indomie, diamond buscuits and some other dog food I can't even remember....

Well... Teaching him commands.... To go, sit, stay, come, roll..... Stuffs like that... You might need to watch a few YouTube tutorials on this.

His name is Fendi. He plays too much.....and he only bark once In a while.... As a first timer wat are d tinz i should know

Fendi looks really good... Well... As far as feeding goes, Khal eats everything we eat... To even get him to eat his dog food as a puppy (diamond biscuits), I had to pretend like I was eating and enjoying it before he'd eat each time.

For now though, we order dry fish crumbs monthly from a woman that supplies us... Atleast a 20litre bucket full one... We cook it with his indomie and its pretty dense.... Occasionally we give him canned food with the mix... And on days when we sort of cooked more than we can eat, he eats whatever we eat.


Khal was on daily eggs till he was 6 months..

So far, I'd say you should give Fendi obedience training.. Its very necessary for a big dog.. And also, chaining him down all day can increase his aggression levels..

Spend a lot of time with Fendi and make him comfortable meeting new people..... Socialisation is very important.

People really never learn.... What the heck are people still doing around that furnace

Tarh.. My rottweiler eats everything as long as he can see anyone in his family eat it..... Everything you can think of... Cucumber, coconut, eba, beans, peanuts, popcorn,... Hell eat blade if he sees you eating blade sef.

That was how I got him to eat his dog biscuits as a puppy..... Had to pretend like I was eating it too

No particular reason aside aesthetic beauty... I have a rott and I actually prefer him with docked tail.... A rottweiler with a long tail looks odd to me though...

He thinks the bridge between us now is because I've become very busy

Since then... Even if we are closer than brothers, nobody's coming close to my own woman via me..

Okay.. So I ordered a phone on Jumia for my sister and for the first time, I chose "Home delivery" instead of the usual pick up station in Akure that I mostly use... Cos I'll be too busy to journey down there to get it.

Delivery was slated for 19th to 22nd... I got a mail on the 19th saying the first delivery attempt had failed and that I had two chances left. I got no calls or text on both lines I submitted when I was filling the order... Nothing at all.

I got a call from a customer care agent and we agreed that the number of the Delivery Agent be given to me before the second delivery attempt so we can connect... Nothing at all.

Not later than 4pm this evening, I got a mail that my package has been delivered.. Delivered?? How, when? No package was delivered to me or received

I got no calls, no texts,.... The number of the Delivery Agent wasn't sent to me and everything there is showing Delivered...... Just like every of my other packages that I have successfully received..

I have contacted their support and I'm not getting any feedback.
