LionDeLeo: Arrant nonsense not different from the usual recycled trash.
What have you been looking for all these years?
You wanted to leave but the country (especially the north) keeps holding you back and a blank cheque has just been handed over to you by the north, to fill it is now a problem, wtf.
In all these years you have been agitating, which of your representatives at any level of govt did you pressurise that it is Arewa, which is tired of your unending grumbling, threats and empty chest beating, that should now champion ur cause for you?
The arewas simply made it known to you that they are not holding you back for any gaddem rubbish, why not key into this declaration and quickly fast track the actualisation of your dream rather than now singing a different song that Arewa should now take the responsibility of pushing for your historic mission?
With reference to editing, if your allusion is on my response to APCsupporter, you must be very confused to think I chickened out. The "edited" you saw in the post you just quoted is simply from "properly" to "heavily" as advised, which is even more harsh.
However, if it is about the Arewa declaration, I think you should have come of age to realise that Arewa is not a lily-livered group. Hahaha... Small signal them don change the tone of the letter sharp sharp. No threats or deadlines, now begging govt for referendum! Is this not what we have been saying? Divide the country and let us see who will stay back in the north. Not threatening mop up. For me on October 1 I stand. From now to then there is enough time for referendum, Biafra exit, relocation. |

They should start bracing up for what will befall them. A smart lawyer has edited the criminal document arewa youth used to threaten Igbos , they have written a new letter to Ag president Osinbajo without threats and deadlines!!!! grin grin. I think say una head dey hot! You have your work cut out for you: pressure your government to conduct the referendum we asked for. When our country emerges we go. Simple and civil. |

ItsMeAboki: ^^^^All this lamentation is unnecessary; while Igbos were busy sowing the seeds of hatred and bitterness they should have known that one day they would have to reap what they sowed. Now that the time is here, they should know that northern youths do not have time for insults and foot dragging gimmicks but for action; come October 1, all Igbos should just get out, we expect them to be celebrating since they have got the divorce they wanted - its no longer a forced marriage, so they should be happy. October 1 is almost here. If you don't show that action... You're not a Muslim. I dare you. No Igbo is leaving until the right things are done. Divide the godamn country, and you won't see us here. The government should quickly conduct the referendum and give us our own state , and then we go. Even your semi literate youth are now changing tone, and dropping the threats and deadlines. For me, if you no show that your action no be man you be. |

NOETHNICITY: so according to ur education mop up is another word for violence? Mop up means that the northern youth are planning to take laws into their own hands to determine the fate of Igbos they deem to be "stubborn" to use their own words. That's all I need to know. Whether they plan on using guns and bombs , or poisoning the water or whatever is immaterial. They will not be allowed to succeed. The Igbo are ready to leave the north the minute our country is granted us, not a minute earlier. The entire world is invited to watch events as they unfold. |

cjrane: Op, Thank you very much for your post. Well written. Considering your post, it makes sense to relocate family members but stay back in the north as groups of men to fight together if it comes to that. A lot of people have divulged the northern agenda to use Nigerian army to lay siege on the SE if they successfully get everyone to leave the north. That possibility is very real. But it doesn't mean Biafra is completely helpless should it come to that. You donot need to sell off your estate in northern Nigeria now because you will get nothing from it. Just keep your legal papers safe and when the time comes, you will either have your property back or compensation will be paid. Just don't be foolish investing further in new projects.
Most importantly, convert most of your savings into dollars, Euro or Chinese Yuan; Renminbi NOW!!!
Open domiciliary account or open accounts in neighboring countries as Cameroon, Ghana, Togo etc. if you must bank with a Nigerian bank, use those that have branches in other countries such as South Africa etc to make sure you can operate your account outside Nigeria. This is the only way you can retain your hard earned wealth after Nigeria changes the naira and begins their economic war. Also, move the bulk of your account to banks you know will be sympathetic to your cause so that you have a good chance of getting your money back.
It is obvious that Fulani is planning a sinister violent operation, so it may become pertinent to begin looking for arms suppliers abroad. Not that we should purchase the arms, but we will know where to get them and how much when it is needed.
Nigeria will have a long midnight in the near future. Thank you for your post again.
Thank you dear. |

..To @newbornmach and other Igbos who have properties up north and wants to sell them off..get a bank loan and use your properties as collateral..,that way you have effectively moneytised your properties..
...May God bless you all. Nice idea. Thanks. |

jpphilips: You dont wake up and write rubbish on the Internet the UN is not an idle organisation idling in New York looking for motor parts dealers to grant referendum, before you mention a process, you must have studied its guidelines to be certain it applies to your situation, Coming from a doctor is most shocking. Your best cause of action is organising yourselves and hosting rallies denouncing IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu completely, Northerners listen to their leaders, once you guys extend an oilve branch to their leadership, this threat will be defeated, Kanu asking you to come home has no home of his own, he lives in his father's house, if you want to give up your hospital for Kanu's stvpidity, the choice is yours. The joke is on you. The indigenous peoples of the eastern region via several nationalist pressure groups have publicly demanded the government consider the option of a referendum in their area. This is standard international practice and everyone awaits the response of government. I doubt you even know what you are talking about. The northern youth rather than urge this process to go on are threatening legitimate citizens with "mop up" , thereby opening vistas for future matters at the Hague. And you talk about olive branch, and denouncing Ipob; IPOB have asked for a referendum. To know what the overall Igbo position is why not conduct a referendum? I will willingly leave my hospital here and go build another, possibly better one in a place where I can call my home without fear of contradiction. I have called the north home for so long, but the aewa youth just told me I am mistaken. |

BiafraIShere: God bless you @newfoundmacho, it gladdens my heart that my people in the north are not taking those threats with kids gloves. All the points you made are very good and intelligent, and should be acted upon judiciously by our people. We shouldnt be caught napping or taken unawares a second time. After all, once bitten, twice shy. Those barbarians are frustrated, and coupled with the death of buhari and the reality of osinbajo's takeover, these savages wont mind destroying lives and property, and equally use the mayhem as excuse to bring their brothers in the barracks to takeover government. If they can create a monster like boko haram just to score some points, then they wouldnt mind doing it on a larger scale now that they are loosing again. Igbos should send their wives and children home first, while all the men must stay together if they must remain, NO IGBO MUST ISOLATE HIMSELF. Thank God for the digital age, the whole world is watching the barbarians, there cup is about to get full. Thanks |

Lushore1: Good, but unfortunately referendum in regards to independent nation is not part of Nigeria constitution and you will have to put pressure on your elective representatives in the "Zoo" government to do something about that.
Until then, show us that this is just not a noise making exercise by moving your family and business out of the "Zoo". Don't shift the goal post. Arewa youth have asked me to go and I have agreed to go on internationally accepted terms. When I leave , I will be leaving Nigeria for my own country, not moving from one part of nigeria to the other. To attempt any thing illegal will be resisted legally. |

BlackMbakara1: All i can deduce from this write-up is sheer arrogance which has not taken the Igbos anywhere.
It's so unfortunate for the Op to say he has given more because he's doing charity work there without pay and even if he does, are you the first?
Instead of Igbos to channel their energies into re-orientating their kins from nefarious activities like kidnapping, counterfeiting, drugs, fraud, baby factory etc and building bridges... With respect please don't derail this thread |

Why didn't the northern youth demand that IPOB and nnamdi kanu be made persona non grata in the north? Why rope in the entire Igbo? Do you claim not to know of igbos , even politicians who hate and despise ipob? The northern youth have taken this to the level where people like me operate, and I am ready to play ball. |

Lushore1: You guys should have thought about the aftermath of hate campaign you directed at Nigerians since the conception of iPod. Most of us are getting tired of your daily threat and at this junction we are just wondering why you still want to continue leaving amongst us. Its either you want to live and continue your business in place you have referred to as a zoo or you want to go and live in Biafra. Just make up your mind. Listen. As it is now, I want to leave the north to Biafra or whatever else emerges. Do you understand that? Let the country be divided , let me be sure that me and my people are not going into a place with only hostile nigerian soldiers carrying guns and standing guard over me. Give me my own country let me go. Until then I will continue to invoke international law to protect my rights. |
Politics › My Advice To fellow Igbos Living In The North. by newbornmacho(op): 7:22am On Jun 18, 2017*. Modified: 8:05am On Jun 18, 2017 |
First a background. I am Igbo and I live in the north of Nigeria. I have followed events quite closely, listening to all sides hoping to decide which argument has the most merit. As it is , the northern youths' ultimatum to my kin to leave the north has helped crystallize my own position. I am in favour of a UN backed referendum for the Igbo and any others to express their desires or otherwise to break away from Nigeria. I do hope that can be done quickly enough, and am urging the FG to please expedite this process. Ultimately I would hope that borders and other terms of the separation would be decided under the watchful eyes of the int'l community, and the new nation birthed in peace. I've had to define my position to debunk the myth of the Igbo who will not leave the north come what may. I was born here in the north and only had my university training in the east . NYSC and 100% of my working life have been in the north and I have many friends here , but I will never succumb to the humiliation of being called a parasite on the north. Indeed I and many others like me have given to the north more than it has given me. I was the only doctor in the local government where I served (NYSC) and the constant communication from my friends there show how much I meant to them. I own a hospital now, and 95 percent of my staff are northeners. Many of my friends similarly. Listen : if the north wants me to leave, I am more than happy to oblige them.
Now my advice: 1. All Igbo in the remote northern hinterland should relocate as a first step to the city centers with large Igbo populations. Don't be found alone when it goes down. 2. Arrangements for sufficient video surveillance of happenings should be made by all. Get a recording device and carry it with you at all times. Place any potentially illegal infringement on your rights on record. We hope to open a Facebook account where folks can post videos and all. 3. Be sure to have papers of your real estate. Bank them if you can. 4. Be extremely cautious what you say/do on social media, or in real life. DONT DRAW FIRST BLOOD!. 5. relocate those you can. 6. Keep in touch. Arrangements are being made to beam an intense international media searchlight on Igbo enclaves in the north. Don't be isolated. 7. BE READY TO GO HOME!!! Our aim is a legal divorce from Nigeria with a new homeland to relocate to; until that is guaranteed its suicidal to congregate in the east under guard of a hostile and reckless armed forces. Don't go anywhere until Biafra or some other entity legally emerges. 8. Stop all further investments in the north. Transfer what you can home. Even if Nigeria remains as is, you should have learnt a thing or two. 9. I have put up some of my real estate for sale. You may wish to do the same. 10. Retain contacts with our Christian brothers from the middle belt and the northern minorities. There will be future negotiations and discussions, and all contacts and connections will be useful. 11. Lastly don't tar everyone with the same brush. There are core Hausa Fulani that are as disturbed by recent events. There are good and bad people everywhere . Whatever happens hereafter , Nigeria can never remain the same again. There was a country. |

madridguy: I diligently read through your post. I will suggest you stop bringing wrong instances to buttress your ill point. I will like you to educate me if the Nigerians back then in the Britain called GB zoo, tell me if they wake up in the morning and praying for the death of the queen, and I will like to know if they wish Great Britain war or any form of calamity.
We Nigerians are tired of you people, we don't hate you but we want you leave. Pack your bag and leave our country. You want education? OK. I'm aware of Nigerians that marched against great Britain, right on Trafalgar square demonstrating against the British apartheid government in south Africa. They were never deported nor even manhandled. Well if you're educated, you must know the arewa threat of ethnic' mop up' or cleansing, or whatever played you people right into a dead end! I'm an Igbo in the north, and very happy to call your bluff. I can't be shooed away. I am here until the country is divided legally, and then I go to my own country. Until then I will continue to call out the northern criminals. I dare the arewa youth to carry out their threat. They know where to find us. Let me stop here for now. |
