18-year-old burglary suspect steals 16 Plasma TV sets worth N1.2m from Kano shop, sold them for N350k and used money to lodge in hotel with girlfriend
The Kano State Police Command has arrested a suspect, Sadiq Isma'il,18, for burglary and theft and recovered eleven stolen Plasma TV sets.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa Haruna, who disclosed this in a statement said descreet investigation led to the arrest of the receiver of the stolen items, Abdullahi Muktar
According to the PPRO, the principal suspect, Isma'il, broke into a shop at Sharada Quarters and made away with the sixteen Plasma TV sets valued at N1.2m.

George Floyd's killer Derek Chauvin bags additional 21-year sentence for violating rights
Former Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for violating George Floyd's civil rights.
Chauvin, 46, pleaded guilty to the separate federal civil rights charges in December.
He is already serving a 22-year state prison sentence for the on-duty murder of Mr Floyd, a 46-year-old black man.
The two sentences will run concurrently and Chauvin will now be moved to a federal prison.
But he will almost certainly spend more time behind bars following the sentencing. His sentence is due to be followed by five years of supervised release...................Read more

Disgraced R&B hitmaker, R.Kelly who was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the sex crimes he stood trial for, has been given some conditions he must adhere to when released from prison.
TMZ reported that prosecutors said Kelly is especially menacing to society because he continued his criminal behavior for years after standing trial in Chicago for sex crimes.
Following the disclosure, the Judge ordered that Kelly must inform anyone choosing to live with him that he is a sex offender.

Three men including a 70-year-old have been sentenced to death by stoning by an Islamic Sharia Court in Ningi, Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, which found them guilty of homosexuality.

Trail of the convicts identified as Abdullahi Beti (30), Kamilu Ya’u (20) and Mal. Haruna (70), began on June 14, 2022 after being arrested by members of the Hisbah Vanguard operating in Ningi LGA through Adamu Dan Kafi.

Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of the late popular gospel singer, Osinachi, has said that contrary to public opinion, his wife died of lung cancer and not from the beating he is alleged to have given her over time.

The North West High Court in South Africa on Thursday, May 26, sentenced a 24-year-old man to five life terms for rape and 300 years for other offences which included housebreaking and robbery with aggravating circumstances.

Sbongiseni Njabulo Ngwenya was found guilty on 39 counts, of which 16 were rape, nine armed robbery, 13 housebreaking and one attempted murder.

One Chidera Ezekiel Uzoma, has died in the Ikoyi Custodial Centre where he was remanded over his employer's stolen bicycle.

A man who was playing a game on his mobile phone while he was pooing was bitten on the bum by a snake that had been lurking in his loo.

Sabri Tazali, from Malaysia, survived the snake attack.

He said after the attack that he was "lucky" the python had not bitten his privates.
Tazali, 28, was using the toilet at his home in the town of Selayang in the Malaysian state of Selangor when he felt a sharp sting on his bum.
