Try Ecobank. Once you bid a favorable rate, you can get it in a week.
Ok thanks.
Do you know the current CAD rate to Naira? Pls advise on what a favorable rate should look like.
I intend to go to the bank tomorrow to make things fast.
Many thanks.

Mcowubaba:
Same school another course, YES you can travel.

About duration, when you get to Canada, apply for a study permit extension, at least 90 days to the end of your TRV http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-extend.asp
Thanks much

Yes you should be able to. But ensure you go along with the two admission letters (1 year and 2 years) and 'probably' an email correspondence with your school to that effect (change of program/new admission).
This is to play safe at POE with the immigration officer that would give you your Study Permit.
Thanks

Hello house, I got my TRV for a one year course (start date was last week of July) on Aug 1.
I know I wouldn't meet up with classes and all so I spoke to the school about my delayed visa and the school granted me admission for another course which is 2years and starts in January. Can I use the TRV I have to travel this December for my new 2year course?
Thanks

Thank you so much for this detailed answer. However, inorder to convince the officer about my proof of funds at point of entry, can I do that orally or will need to show some documents such as bank statement, fixed deposit certificate.
Also, for a two-year program, you only need to show funds for the first year right? This is because my tuition for the one year program is 180% of the first year tuition of the 2-year program, although less than the total tuition for year 1 & 2 of the 2-year program. Is this a good proof of funds for the new program cost?
lawmerchant:
Answer received from CIC call center in Canada:

Yes. However, when arriving in Canada, you must explain to the Officer (at the point of entry) the reason for the resuming in January 2017 as opposed to the July 2016. You must also convince the officer that you have sufficient fund to cover the two-years program. This is because the proof of fund you submitted with your application was assessed on the basis of a one-year not two-year program. The Officer will then have to decide whether to grant you entry. If entry is granted, you must go to you CIC online account and notify CIC of the change in program.
Hope this helps.

Please I need your urgent advise guys!
After getting a visa for a one year program that starts in July 2016, can one decide not to resume the program and use that visa to resume a two-year program that starts in January2017?
PS: the program change is still within thesame school.

Hello guys,
Please how do I go about changing the admission letter I applied for TRV with. The initial admission letter is for a 1 year program that starts at the end of July and i just applied for TRV on the 8th of this month (although I've done upfront medicals). However, seeing the limited time I have to get the TRV, the school has offered me another admission for a two-year program that starts in January.
How do I update my application with the new admission letter.

Thanks.

Please I need your urgent advice guys!
I just got an admission for a 1-year masters program in Canada and I think I want to defer. I have two reasons for this.
The first one is that my program starts July 25 and I haven't even submitted my visa app although it's just the unconditional acceptance letter from the DLI I'm waiting for. This is because the form A I used to pay the acceptance fee has been delaying so I wanna pay through another means tomorrow unfailingly and get my acceptance letter.
The second reason is that having looked through my options and costs, I think I wanna do a two year program that will give me an easier route of PR because of the 3 years work permit advantage. So I'm thinking of applying for a two-year program with thesame school that starts in January and try to defer my current program to switch to the new program. Although I don't know if the school does it or not.
However, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and will go ahead with my current visa app submission and hope I get it before my program start date, but if it comes after my program has started, can I keep the study permit and use it to resume for the two-year program that starts in January? Will I be able to extend the study permit to cover the two year program when I get to Canada?
Also, is there problem with keeping part of my tuition fund in a fixed deposit account about three days before I submit my visa app and stating that in my SOP and affidavit of support. Meanwhile, my affidavit of support was notarized mid-may and it states that I've fixed the sum for tuition. Is there no problem with the date on affidavit coming before date on fixed deposit certificate?
