Dear Mamas,
Gave birth yesterday to a bouncing baby boy @ north side atlanta. Dr V.Andrews is my obgyn but didn't take delivery.
Please I will be back to give my birth story but I need to know about circumcision at north side.

Iinitially I planned to do it in naija since Dr Andrews fee for circumcision is 495 but the nurses here are encouraging me to do it at north side though they claim not to know the cost and the billing department isn't open weekends.

Please any North side mama with boys? Please help.

Also I was asked if I wanted TDap vaccine for myself but I declined it cos I don't know if it is free and they said it wasn't compulsory. Did any north side mama take TDap?

Please help urgently. Thank you!

I was at stanbic oh! They said no show as I don't have an account with them. I will try standard chartered tomorrow..
Hubby will try diamond bank for form A tomorrow although word is there's prerogative for school fees.
Thanks dear

Aunti, quickly open stanbic account. Stanbic is one of your best options for Form A, also check sterling too.

Form A is highly needed for this missionary journey with this exchange rate ise.

So I went to church today- America baptist with my host. 1 hour service, loved the hymns but I miss the tungba tungba of Pentecostal jare. I spied creflo dollar's church during the week, should pay them a visit. My host also showed me a rccg parish, will visit them.

There's a meet and greet each other during service, that was when I was surrounded by elderly white women, all asking me excitedly about the sex and EDD. Even the pastor shook my hand, asked same questions and exclaimed excitedly as if he just won the lottery. I just laughed along.

Also I met Dr Valisia Andrews during the week. My God, she and shanon were so zesty! It reminded of black women owned hair salon...the high pitched tones and my host didn't help matters. She was present throughout and stood in as my mum so she made her opinions known well well for instance, when Dr Valisia asked if I would be using Epidural, she butted in and said NO! Let her feel the pain! I had 5 children without medications blah blah. Dr looked at me, I was just laughing and Dr said it's not cast in stone and I can always change my mind that I should not mind my host o.

So far so good, today makes it a week I have been here and thankful that am not alone because this Atlanta is big and my hosts have been so nice.

I hope to provide further updates and I wish everyone the best at whatever stage of planning or birthing they might be.

Ciao!

Congrats on your successful POE experience.
Pls what branch of GTB did you get your PTA from and when did you apply?
Did you also pay your hospital bill through them?

I applied first week in May (not sure of the exact date) at another branch and I was called on may 31st to go to yaba branch to pick it up.

Hospital bill was paid through another bank.

OK, here we go:

After successfully paying North side via Form A, got 2k PTA from gtbank, submitted my medical forms @ Qatar office a week to my travel date. I felt I was ready to travel

Boarded Qatar airways @34 weeks. Wore my compression socks during the flight and walked around. Was lodged at the Airport hotel during the 9hour layover (my room was on point!). Almost overslept but thanks to the wake up call set by reception....hehehehehe.

The flight from Doha to Atlanta was 15 hours long but I was pampered by the cabin crew.

Arrived Atlanta, was on the queue for 35 mins and was interviewed by a middle aged white guy:

Me: Hello
CBP: Hello
CBP: Where are you coming from?
Me: Nigeria
CBP: Why are you here in Atlanta?
Me: To have my baby! (Smiling hugely)
CBP: So have you paid all your hospital bills?
Me: Yes but yet to pay the doctor's fee
CBP: How much cash do you have on you
Me: 2,000usd
CBP: He was surprised. So you are only here with doctor's money?
Me: of course not. Am with my Master card. I do not like to carry so much cash.
CBP: So you came all the way to America just to have your baby?
Me: Yes because its my first and I want the best healthcare for both of us.
CBP: Do you have any food
Me: yes. Garrison, Egusi, bitter kola, kolanut etc

He stamped me in for 6 months and sent me to agriculture. Throughout the encounter, I did not show him any evidence of any kind. The only document I held was my passport and customs declaration form.

At agriculture, no food item was seized. I was specifically asked for gala, garri and egusi. I said no to gala and yes to the others. My bag was opened after it was scanned but nothing was seized.

That's it folks. Chilling with my in laws and eating naija food....hehehe.

Someone birthed in Augusta Georgia, made use of Doctor's hospital. If Albany isn't too far from Augusta, you could try it or you visit Doctor's hospital website to check for their closest location to you.

Good evening to all the mummies and the mummies to be,

I have been reading your post on this thread for awhile, I wish I found this particular thread early b4 having my first child and while I was heading to the U.S. to have my second, coz I had to cough out almost 10k in Maryland .

I need your help on my third, I am in third trimester, I will be about 36 weeks by the time I get to the U.S.

I am heading to Albany Georgia, I have search for OB Gyn's contact and all there prices are crazy, the least I got was for 3085usd.

I don't know if we have anybody in the forum that gave birth in Albany Georgia and can give me a cheap Dr's referral.

I will be glad if I get a swift response,

Thank U.

It is my turn to share my testimony.

My LO was born yesterday 11th May 2016. Some of you would recall how my Dollars were stolen by my help before my trip. I was well prepared to follow it up and post everywhere about it but after my first doctors appointment here, the stolen money was irrelevant to me.

The doctor did a scan and said she found spots on my LO's heart that were indicative of either a hole in the heart or downs syndrome. I began to pray and believe God even though I was very shaken by the news.

Long story short, she arrived yesterday and is completely fine. She followed me straight from the OR to the postpartum recovery room. Join me praise the Lord. I'm one happy mumma.

Praaaaaaaiiiiiiiiise the Lord! Congratulations!! We shall hear more good news from your tribe in Jesus name.

Hiya! Travelling in June as well and due in July. We should jam in Atlanta. By the way, how did you get account details of the hospital?
I've preregistered online and as advised by Ify4charm but just got an auto reply mail, nothing else since then. I've also called the preregistration and financial counselling departments severally but no one ever picks.
What else can I do please?

Hi newmomma2be

Bin getting ur pms and I kip replying. Are u getting mine? You can ask me here if sending or replying pms from ur end or mine is becoming cumbersome.

Cheers

Hi Biollar1,

I wanted to ask you about Form A @ Stanbic. I was there yesterday and was asked for 'admission letter' and invoice from the hospital. The staff explained that the admission letter indicates that the hospital has booked you.

I don't have such letter, I only have a price estimate (invoice) from them (North side hospital, Atlanta). Do you have such letter from your hospital or do you think Doctor's appointment letter will suffice?

And no, I didn't get any of your PMs.

Thank you
