Travel / Re: Irish Join Family Visa Enquiries Part 0 by Newperson92(m): 11:14pm On Sep 14, 2023
Hi guys,

I recently did my court marriage in August this year, I am on a critical skill permit in, so I intend to bring my spouse into Ireland via the joint spouse visa.
Although we haven't done the white or traditional yet, that will be done next year but I want to commence the visa application from now so as to start the count.
My question is,

Is it necessary for my wife to change her name on documents before we apply at the embassy as proof of marriage when we already have our court marriage certificate?

Her Passport has her real name, she got it in February and we did our court wedding in August and I wouldn't want to go through the process of the name change since we haven't done the traditional and white wedding yet.

Please kindly advise, is it okay to do the application like that or i must do a name change to proof?

Remember, we have our wedding pictures, certificates, proof of relationship, CSE permit, and other documents.

please I am waiting for your response and if anyone wants to advise further, I am willing to connect privately. Thanks

Congratulations for those who have gotten approvals.

Please for those who are there already, how can we help get easy and less expensive accommodations.
Better still, accommodation in a shared that we can pay and join before we get familiar with the system.

What I mean exactly is, for older persons(persons there) willing to assist us newly approves, staying in a free shared accommodation and it's vacant, can tell us so we pay and join them if it works like that.
Thank you.

Hello everyone, please I want to ask anyone studying business analytics/data analytics at Dublin business school if we can bring our laptops from Nigeria.I was told students studying IT related courses at NCI were only allowed to use MAC/Apple laptops. I want to know if there are such rules for IT students in dublin business school,as I am planning to buy my laptop in Nigeria before coming (January intake).Thanks.

Please are you in dbs already?
I need to get few details about the school please

Concerning the weather, it's cold all year round. The sun is lazy, rises late and sets early. I'm not sure you'll get a jacket thick enough for the cold in Nigeria, I'll advice you buy here, a good jacket costs between €50-€70 ( if you don't care about designer). In my opinion, food is relatively cheap, at least the normal stuffs like rice, potatoes and stew stuffs, you'll get good prices at Lidl and Tesco (yam is a no go area, I would not advice you bring from nigeria due to the weight though)Chicken is the cheapest protein and in abundance. Pack lots of indomie when coming, it's expensive here. If you don't know how to cook, go and start learning. Eating out is a bad idea for saving, especially in Dublin. And yes DBS is a good school. I like the fact that they understand students need free time to work and have structured classes to allow for that. All the best in your application, we hope to hear good news from you soon. Cheers.
Hello please am interested in dbs but I need details about their accommodation.
Do they have on campus?
