The office of Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, 62, issued a statement on Friday ordering the Interior Ministry to strip the family of Princess Srirasmi, 42, of the royal-appointed surname.

Families can be given an honorary name by the Thai monarchy in return for their loyal service. The name was appointed to Princess Srirasmi after the couple married in 2001. The couple have a nine-year-old son.

The South African head of an international aid group, his two children and an Afghan have been killed in an attack on a guesthouse in Kabul.

Police chief General Mohammed Zahir said the four were killed in the attack the day before, revising an earlier toll. He gave no ages for the children, and did not identify the organisation.

Police have grave concerns for the mother of deceased baby, whose naked body was found buried in 30 centimetres of sand at a Sydney beach by two members of the Under 6 Nippers team.

Aged six and seven, the two boys found the ‘very small’ infant while digging in the sand during their weekly Sunday morning session at the southern end of Maroubra Beach in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Police were called to the scene at about 10:05am to investigate the ‘suspicious’ incident.

Officers dressed in full protective gear and masks removed the body by about 1pm.

Referee Rick Crawford was officiating the consolation game between LaSalle and Vanderbilt at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on Saturday.
