Governor of Rivers state, N E Wike this morning was at Rhythm FM Port Harcourt for the programme Viewpoint.



During the broadcast, he talked about recent trends and event that surround the socio-politocal spheres of the state.

In his words;

Security Challenges in other APC States made it impossible for the APC FEDERAL GOVERNMENT to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State. It was the view of the State Security Council that the State Government offer amnesty to criminals. It was successful until it was politicised by the APC. At the beginning, Police and DSS did not cooperate, but Army fully cooperated. The State Government funded the operation that led to the death of Don Wanny. The President may have encouraged It, but the operation was funded by the Rivers State Government.

Don Wanny accepted Amnesty, but refused to abide by the tenets of the Amnesty. It was at this point that the Security Council resolved to track him down. Don Wanny planned a second attack. It was to kill more than 200 persons. I thank God that we tracked him down and averted the tragedy. I reeled out the data on Security infractions during Amaechi to refresh the memory of the people. Don Wanny did not start today.



He also claimed that his administration did not empower Don Wanny:

He reigned all through the Amaechi administration, what measures did Amaechi take to bring him to justice. We have tracked down Don Wanny and brought him to justice. I have never bought weapons for anyone to support me to win elections. I worked with Amaechi to win two elections, I didn't buy guns. It is nonsensical to allege that I will buy guns to win my elections. You don't learn left hand in Old age. If at the time I emerged Local Government Chairman I did not buy guns and as Director General of Amaechi campaign, I did not buy guns, why should I buy guns now? If we do not work in synergy with security agencies, how would we have gotten Don Wanny. Whether we like it or not, it is incumbent on us to play our own part on Security

The National Agency for the Control of AIDS, has stated that Nigerian security operatives are among six groups with the highest risk of the HIV according to statistics.

The NACA Director-General, Dr. Sani Aliyu, said according to the Integrated Biological and Behavioural Surveillance Survey, the six group of people most likely to contract the virus in the country are:

Lagos-based Christian cleric, Pastor Tunde Bakare has denied reports that he wanted to run for Nigeria's presidential seat in 2019. In tweets of his sermon on Sunday, January 14 at his Latter Rain Assembly in Ogba area of Lagos state, the pastor said his message from God was misinterpreted. According to his tweets, at no point did he say he would run in 2019 or declared open a presidential campaign as was inferred in the reports of his Monday, January 1, 2018 sermon.

Bakare said God also revealed to him that most of the political juggernauts in the country would fall at the feet of women in 2018.

The serving overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly explained that God did not tell him when the appointed time to run for the presidency would be, but that he was given a divine admonition not to end his political career as he had earlier contemplated

A woman who was expecting twins has delivered triplet babies after nine years of waiting. The woman and her husband were reportedly told that they would have twins but they ended up welcoming triplet babies into their home.

Newshelmng.com came across the miraculous story after it was shared on social media. Instagram user Kay Ijisesan revealed that it was predicted that the couple would have twin babies but they were blessed with triplets.

The Instagram user revealed that the couple only discovered they would be having triplets after they arrived in the United States from Nigeria where they were told they would have twins.

Ijisesan who thanked God for blessing the couple with triplets noted that the babies are a sign of grace bestowed upon the couple.

He said: “2 days ago I heard what I considered the most exciting news so far in 2018. A minister of God, Pastor Femi Ojo who also happens to be one of my mentees in ministry broke the news of the arrival of their triplet babies after 9 years of marriage. Your guess is, that must be IVF but rather it was something greater than IVF called supernatural conception.

They were told to expect twins before the wife left Nigeria but on getting to the U.S they discovered they were actually triplets. God did exceedingly abundantly above their expectation. I call it triple for your trouble." "I declare that your expectation for the miraculous will be exceeded by God throughout 2018. The lady identified as Ifeoma Vivian Emeka has been very vocal about her Christian faith ever since she gave her life to Christ. Using the social media platform, she has continued to air her opinions on the lifestyles of many Nigerian celebrities. If she is not attacking Nigerian artistes on their choice of songs, she is laying down manifestos on what she would do when she becomes president of Nigeria or using her own words, the first pastor president of Nigeria. Recently, she took to the social media platform to share her opinions on top pastors in Nigeria. According to her post, religious leaders like Pastor Adebayor, Pastor Chris, TB Joshua and other popular pastors in Nigeria were not living up to the expectation of God. She said that instead of being selfish and reaping off the sweats of their followers, they should emulate Christ and become be a true leader so as to enter the kingdom of God.

Due to the fact that she had a tattoo on her arm when she was living a "wordly life", she attempted to remove it by using a hot pressing iron directly on her skin and failed. Although it appeared extreme, she claims she did it because of her love for Jesus.

A former National Assembly Liaison Officer (Shehu Shagari’s administration,) Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, has reprimanded Nigerians for voting Muhammadu Buhari, saying he warned that the president lacked five critical elements of leadership.

“I’m 92 now, and if at 92, I cannot use my common sense when will I deploy it again?

“When I made that statement against Buhari, it was attack from left right and centre, insult here and there, particularly from this part of the country. Since then, I have kept quiet because I knew I would be vindicated one day. I don’t have any more to add.

“I believe there are five important ingredients necessary for successful political leadership, and these include capacity, competence, vision, planning and integrity.

“In my opinion, our present national leadership is totally lacking those ingredients. All of them are inherent, they cannot be bought or borrowed, and nobody can change the situation for the better, we have to live with it to the end.”
