Commercial sex workers in Dema Growth Point, Zimbabwe now accept buckets of maize and cups of beans as payment from their cash-strapped male clients.

The sex workers said the ‘barter trade’ had also created problems for their clients as the men usually steal the ‘payment’ from family granaries.

According to some of the sex workers who spoke to New Zimbabwe; they appealed to the government and other organisations for low-interest loans to start income-generating projects to fend for their starving families.

One of the sex workers who only identified herself as Alice, said;

“Gone are the days when we used to charge US$5 for the whole night. These days even one dollar is accepted, so that you are able to buy vegetables and tomatoes and cook something for your starving children."

Alice disclosed that she has three children, one of which is in Form 4. The child needs ZIMSEC (Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council) registration fees while the other kids are in Grade 7 and Grade One.

She added;

“I now even accept a bucket of maize or cups of dried beans as payment for sex services. At least I am assured that my kids will have porridge."

Another sex worker only identified as Mavis said she could have opted to be a house helper. She however said locals don't pay.

The sex workers who spoke to the publication, were attending a Key Affected Populations (KAP) workshop meant to find ways of reducing HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The seminar was convened by the National Aids Council (NAC) at Dema Growth Point.

Racism is well structured and embedded in western culture..
Most blacks tend to overlook this obvious fact, yet it's this very fact that's majorly responsible for most obstacles mitigating against the abilities of many blacks in these communities to compete and achieve equally on the global level... It becomes even more saddening when you see Asian populations quickly copying from westerners on how to perennially degrade and denigrate Africa and Africans. Essentially, the problem is growing and not regressing... So something far more powerful than ""ordinary matches and declarations" needs to be done before there will be a significant paradigm shift on this score.

I mean, just take a look at the socalled fight against racism, majorly against blacks in sports. All you hear or read as purnishment for offenders is about "few matches ban, few thousand dollar fines" etc. But if it is anti semitism that's the case, you see swift, hard and long lasting purnishments that almost immediately squashes that trend.. This obviously means that that those at the commanding positions in politics and administration globally are still finding it hard to be decisive on issues related to racism against blacks .. They still don't see it as such an evil that needs immediate extermination or somehow, the ability to racially impose their will, culture and beliefs on blacks still give them the adrenaline kicks.. Black politicians across the globe are not doing enough either..

Sasha Johnson, a prominent British Black Lives Matter activist is fighting for her life in the hospital after being shot in the head in London on Sunday morning.

The 27-year-old mother-of-three had faced ‘numerous’ death threats before the incident in Peckham and is said to be in a critical condition, According to the Taking The Initiative party Facebook page.

London's Metropolitan Police released a statement saying the shooting occurred near a house in Southwark, in the city's south-east, where a party was taking place.

The police said the force's Specialist Crime Command was investigating the incident and that early information showed the shooting to be random.

"While the investigation is at an early stage, there is nothing to suggest that the woman who was shot was the subject of a targeted attack or that she had received any credible threats against her prior to this incident," the statement said.

Nine cases of Macroglossia has been discovered in some COVID-19 patients by Doctors; a condition where someone’s tongue is inflamed and begins to swell so much they can not speak or eat.

According to Dr. James Melville, one of the top researchers of the condition.

‘It’s actually a relatively common condition, but not to the degree of those patients. Those are what we consider massive or giant macroglossia and those are extremely rare,’ he said.

One of the patients he treated, Anthony Jones, woke up after surviving the critical case of COVID-19 that left him on a ventilator with his tongue swollen more than its normal size.

He has finally recovered, but Dr. Melville and other doctors remain perplexed over what might cause the rare complication.

Dr. Melville treated the first two cases of COVID-related macroglossia early in the pandemic last year.

According to Daily Mail, there have been seven new cases of the condition related to COVID-19 since then, with each being the rare, massive version of the condition.

One case was that of Anthony Jones, a Houston man who developed the condition after being hospitalized with the virus.

Jones had to use a ventilator in order to handle the virus, and when he woke up after treatment, his tongue was so swollen that he could not speak or eat.

Dr. Melville had to perform surgery to reduce the massive size of Jones’s tongue and alleviate the inflammation. The operation was a success, but how Jones became inflicted with massive macroglossia is still unknown to doctors.

Dr. Melville believes the inflammation is caused for the same reasons that other organs in someone’s body may become inflamed and swell after contracting the virus.

There are reports that some have had their hearts, or other organs, enlarge after contracting the virus.

‘We were noticing similar histological features with our COVID positive patients with other organs they were doing autopsies on, so say kidneys or lungs or heart,’ he said.

‘I think the [cases] we’re finding, and histology is proving that COVID may be causing, are a more exaggerated inflammatory reaction in the tongue, which might be causing the tongue to get bigger, but that’s all the research work that I’m doing trying to prove that.’

Typical causes of macroglossia include strokes, and laying in a prone position for a long time, as Jones was when he was in the hospital.

The bride tied the knot with one of the baraatis, a member of the marriage party from the groom’s side, in the city of Kanpur on May 16. The Tribune report.

According to the news outlet, the couple had just completed their jaimala, or exchange of garlands, when the groom went missing. At the time, their families were getting ready for the main ceremony.

After a search by the bride’s family, they concluded that the groom did not just disappear, but intentionally fled the scene. Following several deliberations.

Finally, one of the groom’s guests suggested that the marriage continue, but this time, with a suitable wedding guest as the groom. The bride’s family deliberated the pool of potential husbands in the groom’s wedding party, called a baraat, and settled on an eligible suitor. There, at that same venue, the bride married her new groom.

South African Popular polygamist, Musa Mseleku who became popular when the Mzansi Magic’s polygamy-themed reality show Uthando Nes’thembu took SA by storm, has slammed the proposal for polyandry to be legally recognised as a form of marriage, saying not only is it an attack on the institution of marriage, but it will it never work because it is not a well thought idea.

The show gave viewers a front row seat into how Musa, his four wives (MaCele, MaYeni, MaKhumalo and MaNgwabe) and 10 children navigate life individually and as a unit within the lifestyle.

Musa made the claim when asked to comment on the proposal of women marrying more than one husband being a recognized as a form of marriage in South Africa. In his opinion that making polyandry legal in SA goes against who we are as spiritual beings, attacks marriage and is in essence an insult to existing African traditions, cultures and practices such as polygamy.

The popular polygamist in the interview on eNCA, also said that polyandry would cause “a lot of commotion and confusion”.

He said;

“I can tell you, this is a mere, straightforward attack on the only institution that should be protected and preserved — which is marriage. I do not even understand where those activists are coming from.

“I think maybe they are driven by so much of trying to portray certain things as equality, whereas they don’t understand the fundamentals of where we (polygamists) are coming from with the institution of marriage. Polygamy does not just exist because a man has got a desire to have many wives.”

“There’s a reason we are seed carriers as men. One of those reasons is to make sure we build families based on values, customs and traditions. We have to build a nation where we will have people who are going to grow out of being raised by proper, functional families. What I see here, what is going to happen, we are going to have a rise in fragmented families who are not going to be carrying any particular form of direction in terms of raising families,” he said.

“Imagine one woman having — like in my case — four husbands. Each husband will want his own children who will bear the surname of that particular husband to grow his family. No matter how we try to say the children will take the wife’s surname, that can’t happen because spiritually and culturally that is impossible. The seed carrier of that child is the husband. I can’t lose my birthright as a seed carrier.

“Physically, I don’t think women in their condition can be in the position to that. Women are refusing to give birth even when they are married to one man. They say once child is OK or two. However, in this case, we will have multiple men competing to have children with this woman.”

Musa said he finds it hard to believe polyandry will work in reality, even if by “some miracle” the people for it manage to put it on paper. He said people were erroneously ignoring the spiritual implications of such an arrangement, and gave the example that in African culture a man should not have sex with a woman who is carrying another man’s child.

“Women are using this card of equality wrong in this regard because polygamy is not something to satisfy your physical needs. It’s not about that. It is about building families.”

The father of 10 said women who had multiple partners should continue living that way if it pleased them, but legalising it would be an action from which SA would never be able to “come back”.

After receiving mostly backlash for making similar comments in an interview with eNCA , Musa took to his YouTube channel to state his case.

Musa said no matter the motivation behind the proposal, he believed “polyandry will never work and will bring more harm than good and many families are going to destroyed” because of it.

The Uthando Nes’thembu star said he is convinced polyandry would never work and doubted anybody would have a counterargument strong enough to sway him.

Cantel prison riot - Seven inmates have been massacred and 13 security guards taken hostage in a gruesome prison riot at the Xela prison in Cantel, Guatemala, local media reports.

It's reported at least seven people have died, with four beheaded in the chaotic scenes on Wednesday night, May 19.

The deadly riot is still on and the army may be invited as the jail has not been able to gain back "full control".

It is not yet known whether prison guards have been hurt or killed in the riots, but the Guatemalan Interior Minister says at least seven inmates have died from preliminary reports.

Also, it is said that among the security guards taken hostage, some are women.

Reporters claim that there is a blood stream on the road outside the prison entrance, based on the site of a municipal model rehabilitation farm.

It's claimed the riot unfolded between rival gangs in the detention centre, and was sparked after a prisoner's partner outside was murdered in a targeted killing.

The mutiny occurred in one of the jail's courtyards, where 2,253 inmates live.

The 26-year-old model-software engineer was crowned by 2019 title holder Zozibini Tunzi at the Miss Universe competition was finally held on May 16 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.

According to People magazine, Meza is a certified makeup artist and model, an extreme sports and Crossfit fan, the official Tourism Brand Ambassador for the city of Chihuahua, and an activist focused on women’s rights who works closely with the Municipal Institute for Women.

A Kenyan man was beaten mercilessly by locals after a schoolgirl accused him of sexually molesting her.

According to Twitter user @CisNyakundi, the man offered two female high school students a ride when they were returning from school.

He dropped the first one off at her stop then continued with the second. But, rather than take the girl straight home, he reportedly stopped in a secluded area in the Ngecha area of Limuru, Kenya, and allegedly molested her sexually.

After the alleged incident, he continued on his journey with the girl and she raised alarm when she saw locals.

This attracted the attention of tea pickers who beat the man up before handing him over to the police.

Not less than 120 retired military generals and admirals have signed an open letter questioning Joe Biden’s physical and mental health.

The letter from the group which calls itself ‘Flag Officers 4 America’ and consists of retired military officers including generals and admirals calls into question Biden’s capacity to serve as president.

It also challenges the election of the country, which they claimed a “Constitutional Republic is lost” without “fair and honest elections that accurately reflect the ‘will of the people’.”

The letter talks about former US President Donald Trump’s claims of widespread election fraud and comes a day after Rep. Liz Cheney was voted out of the Republican party leadership for criticisms of Trump for still peddling claims of electoral fraud.

According to the Letter from Retired Generals and Admirals:

‘Without fair and honest elections that accurately reflect the ‘will of the people’ our Constitutional Republic is lost,’

‘The FBI and Supreme Court must act swiftly when election irregularities are surfaced and not ignore them as was done in 2020,’ they wrote.

The letter, called an ‘Open Letter from Retired Generals and Admirals,’ was first reported by Politico.

The letter buttresses Trump’s claims that absentee ballots are not secure.

‘Election integrity demands insuring there is one legal vote cast and counted per citizen. Legal votes are identified by State Legislature’s approved controls using government IDs, verified signatures, etc,’ they write.

‘Today, many are calling such commonsense [voter ID] controls “racist” in an attempt to avoid having fair and honest elections. Using racial terms to suppress proof of eligibility is itself a tyrannical intimidation tactic,’ they write.

The retired officers raise doubts about Biden’s mental capacity – and reference Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s move to get assurances about the nuclear codes in the days after the January 6 MAGA riot.

‘The mental and physical condition of the Commander in Chief cannot be ignored. He must be able to quickly make accurate national security decisions involving life and limb anywhere, day or night,’ they write.

‘Recent Democrat leadership’s inquiries about nuclear code procedures sends a dangerous national security signal to nuclear armed adversaries, raising the question about who is in charge. We must always have an unquestionable chain of command.’

‘The group pledged to support and defend the Constitution of the US against all enemies, foreign and domestic.’

The signatories of the letter attached their names to the letter. Among them was Maj. Gen. Joe Arbuckle, who served in Vietnam and later commanded the US Army Industrial Operations Command (IOC) at Rock Island, Illinois.

Other signers of the anti-Biden letter included include Vice Adm. John Poindexter, who was convicted in the Iran-Contra Affair.

Also signing on was Army Brig. Gen. Don Bolduc, who lost the Republican primary in 2020 to challenge Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, and is planning another Senate run.

‘Arbuckle, who organized the effort, told Politico: ‘Retired generals and admirals normally do not engage in political actions, but the situation facing our nation today is dire.’

He continued: ‘We are facing threats greater than at any other time since our country was founded. To remain silent would be a dereliction of duty.’

The letter comes following Trump’s claim that Biden is making the world “more violent and unstable“, referencing the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.

“Under Biden, the world is getting more violent and more unstable because Biden’s weakness and lack of support for Israel is leading to new attacks on our allies.

“American must always stand with Israel and make clear that the Palestinians must end the violence, terror, and rocket attacks, and make clear that the US will always strongly support Israel’s right to defend itself.”

A Ghanaian man, Papa Nii, has been sentenced to ten years imprisonment for bathing his wife with acid by the Weija Circuit Court in Greater Accra Region, Ghana.

According to a report, the victim, Ofeibea Florence Aryee, moved to her father's house after she was kicked out by her husband. Papa Nii later went to meet his father-in-law in guise of asking for forgiveness but sneaked into the bathroom where his estranged wife was bathing and poured acid on her.

The Executive Director of Crime Check Foundation, Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, who confirmed the development, said Papa Nii was sentenced on Monday, May 10.

“The law bites and those who perpetrate atrocities like this should be dealt with accordingly. No matter how somebody might wrong you, there is no cause to attack the person with acid.” he said.

A US pastor who has become a stripper says her new job has given her life skills that have made her a better parent.

Australia: A woman was rushed to hospital after allegedly being stabbed in the chest by a male co-worker at a popular cafe in Newcastle on Wednesday afternoon.

The man, 23, was arrested near the scene in Mayfield about 2.35pm and has been charged with attempted murder and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Police told reporters when they arrived at the Onyx Cafe on Mayfield Road officers found the woman with a knife still “embedded in her chest”.

Her alleged attacker, a man from Sandgate and the woman, 27, were colleagues at the cafe.

Detective Superintendent Wayne Humphrey told media in Newcastle following the incident that the alleged attack began in the kitchen with the use of a “blunt instrument”.

“It then progressed and a woman received a stab wound to the chest,” he alleged.

“The knife was embedded in her chest and remained in her chest when emergency services arrived.”

The woman was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The man was refused bail and will face Newcastle Local Court on Thursday.

The Onyx Cafe took to Facebook after the incident to inform customers it had closed until further notice.

Customers sent their wishes to staff in comments on the post.

“Such a sad day for you all … we will be back when you are ready to be back … stay safe … love to all staff and families,” one wrote.

Another said they had stopped by for coffee just 10 minutes before the incident unfolded.

“Sending thoughts and prayers for the (woman) and to all who witnessed a truly horrific event,” they wrote.

The victim in that incident is described as a younger woman who was robbed of her purse.

Police authorities allege Sudo killed her husband as phone records show several internet searches for "stimulant drugs" and poisons on Sudo's phone.

She was flown back to Wakayama, where she had lived with her husband, and has now been charged with murder.

In 2016, the businessman wrote a book called 'Don Juan of Wakayama'.

A polygamist, Misheck Nyandoro from a Johanne Marange Apostolic sect member with 151 children from 16 wives has revealed that he has no plan of stopping anytime soon. 

The polygamist from Mbire in Mashonaland Central of Zimbabwe, told The Herald that he is planning to take his 17th wife soon so that he can add to his 151 children.

Nyandoro said ; 

“Mine is a project. This polygamy is a project that I have undertaken since 1983 and will end with my death. Whenever that day death visits, is when I will stop marrying and fathering children.

“I am planning on taking in my 17th wife this winter and the formalities are already being worked on."

He also described polygamy as a project which is now bearing fruit as he is constantly receiving money and goodies from his children and son-in-laws. Nyandoro also claimed that Western Europe has a big project to reduce Africa’s population and he's against that. 

The polygamist said; 

“From my working children and getting pampered with money through EcoCash, almost daily and 11 of my children have put me on funeral policy. I get goods from sons-in-law.

“I have not stopped making babies, the sky is the limit. I have not stopped marrying either, God allowing, I will go even up to 100 wives and maybe 1000 children. Western Europe has a big project to reduce Africa’s population and am against that. I am a war veteran, the Government pays for my children’s fees. I have no problem.”

The polygamist also boasted that his only duty is to make sure that his wives are satisfied in the bedroom. Nyandoro said he takes into account a number of variables in coming up with the duty roster for his 16 wives’ conjugal rights. Claiming that he does not take any sex enhancement drug to satisfy his wives, he added that he is the only person who knows and maintains the duty roster.

Nyandoro’s huge family survives by farming. He was recently allocated 93 hectares near Mvurwi Mountains after the government took note of his family’s need. He said that after every harvest, he makes sure to share equitably according to the needs of the 16 wives.

At the moment, 19 of Nyandaro’s children are employed. 6 are members of the Zimbabwe National Army while 2 are members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police. Another 11 are employed in different professions. He also has 13 sons-in-law after marrying off 13 daughters.

A Ghanaian woman is filmed putting a live snake (python) in her husband's casket before his body was committed to mother earth.

In the video, the grieving widow was spotted with the live snake curled around her neck before she laid it on her late husband’s body inside the coffin.

A voice in the background could be heard explaining why she did the ritual. According to the person, the snake bit the tongue of the deceased which led to his death, so his wife decided to bury him with his killer.

The woman was visibly agitated in the video as she was shaking her head frantically while pointing her finger at the snake and her late husband.

According to online reports, the dead man used to play with snakes and one of his favourite pet snakes bit his tongue when he was trying to put it into his mouth.

The Canadian province of Alberta reported its first death of a patient from a rare blood clot condition after receiving the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, its chief medical officer confirmed late Tuesday (May 4).

The Alberta case marks the second case of blood clots, and the only death after more than 253,000 doses of AstraZeneca were administered in the province, the statement added.

MIAMI -- The teenage killer who lured a friend into a bathroom stall at their suburban Miami middle school 17 years ago and cut his throat has died in prison.

Florida Department of Corrections online records show Michael Hernandez, 31, died Thursday. He had been incarcerated at Columbia Correctional Institute, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) west of Jacksonville. No cause of death was released, but WFOR-TV said Hernandez was seen on video collapsing, and no foul play is suspected.

“We miss him, and the big question is: What would he be today?” he said.

The phones, sold with “professional” camera quality were made and sold with a defect affecting the back camera module’s glass covering that “shatters - spontaneously, with no external force applied - and even when the phone is encased in a protective case,” according to the lawsuit.

Samsung is being accused of fraud, breach of warranty, and violations of several consumer-protection laws, the report said.

"Samsung sold its Galaxy S20 as a high-end option for consumers, with a 'professional' grade camera, charging upwards of $1,600 per device, only to have them suddenly lose a major aspect of their functionality," said Steve Berman, managing partner of the law firm.

Hundreds of Galaxy S20 owners have reported of the rear-camera glass on their device spontaneously cracking without any external cause or drops and dings. If these reports are to be believed, this issue potentially affects all variants of the Galaxy S20 lineup, including the Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 FE and all the 5G variants of these phones as well.

Notably, this issue has been around ever since the phone series first launched as a certain owner of the Galaxy S20 reported about the issue on Samsung's community website just four days after it went on sale.

However, according to the customers, the company refused to cover the issue under warranty, the report said.
