A sad video has gone viral in India, which shows a woman died of Covid after the police allegedly took her oxygen cylinder away from her hospital bed to give to a VIP amid a shortage of medical oxygen in the country.

Video shared on social media shows his 22-year-old son, Anmol Goyal, crying and begging in front of the Uttar Pradesh police not to take away his mother’s oxygen cylinder.

His 53-year-old mother, Usha Goyal, who was admitted to hospital for Covid-19 complications, sadly died two hours after the police are alleged to have taken away her oxygen cylinder.

'My mother will die if you take away her oxygen cylinder,' Anmol Goyal, 22, told the police as the cylinder was carried out of the hospital on Tuesday night, April 27.

"The only thing that the doctor said would help her, an oxygen cylinder, was taken away from us," Goyal told the local news outlets in India.

He and his 17-year-old brother were said to have sourced the oxygen themselves, bringing it to the Covid ward and placing it by their mother's bed.

The cylinder was confiscated by the police for someone deemed to be more important, according to The Times of India correspondent who shared the video on social media.

Speaking to the Wire, Goyal said: "When I asked the ward boys why they were taking away our oxygen cylinder, they told me that they want to save somebody’s life. Who is that somebody? And is my mother’s life not valuable enough?"

Rohan P Botre, Superintendent of Agra Police vehemently denied the claims, told the media: “It was an empty cylinder being taken away from the hospital for refilling.”

A 'drunk' Florida woman was arrested over the weekend for allegedly offering lap dances to strangers and asking police officers if they wanted to 'bang' on the sidewalk.

Olivia Taylor-Washek, 28, was taken into custody just after 8.30pm on Saturday.

According to a police report obtained by the Smoking Gun, Taylor-Washek was 'stumbling on the sidewalk and attempting to give random citizens lap dances' outside of a bar on Central Avenue in St Petersburg.

Officers called a fire rescue team when they discovered that she was 'highly intoxicated'.

But she wasn't evaluated because she is said to have threatened 'to punch paramedics if they touched her'.

The officers said in the report that they offered to walk Taylor-Washek to her nearby apartment or call someone to pick her up.

However, she 'continued to yell profanities' at police officers and bystanders. At one point she allegedly asked officers 'if they wanted to "bang" on the sidewalk'.

Despite asking them if they wanted to 'bang', Taylor-Washek is also said to have asked the officers if they were going to shoot her.

Eventually, Taylor-Washek was arrested for disorderly intoxication and released on Sunday on her own recognizance.

According to her Instagram, Taylor-Washek is currently competing with other women to be on the cover of Maxim magazine.

The winner receives a grand prize of $25,000, which she says she'd use to pay off her student loans.

A 36-year-old man in Brazil reportedly had his penis and testicles cut off by his niece’s boyfriend and fed to WILD PIGS after he allegedly tried to rape his niece.

The man, from Olhos D’Agua in Brazil, was drunk when he allegedly attempted to attack his 20-year-old niece who managed to fight off his advances and fled before he then staggered home and went to sleep.

Surgeons then struggled to reconstruct his urinary tract, so that the man could relieve himself, but they say there is no hope of replacing anything that he lost after it was apparently thrown to the pigs and eaten.

According to police officer Michael Stephan da Silva, the force searched for the missing penis but did not find it and believed it had indeed been eaten by the animals.

Surgeon Felipe Lobo said: “It was like something out of a scene from a Dante novel.

The Muhammadu Buhari Led administration has declared its support for the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, amid calls for his resignation or removal.

Presidency last night conceded that the views expressed by the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami, endorsing some terrorist groups in the past are unacceptable.

Two female correctional service officials have been dismissed after investigations into an explicit video which went viral last month displaying one of the officials having sex with an inmate.

DCS spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo said the inmate involved was also not pardoned and had been reclassified into the maximum category.

The graphic video that went viral on social media shows the warder passionately kissing the inmate in what looks like an office inside the prison before they get half-naked and get into the act.

A 39-year-old nurse in US state of Florida has been arrested for allegedly threatening to kill US Vice President Kamala Harris, according to CNN reports on Saturday.

Harris, 56, is the first woman, the first Black American, and the first South Asian American to be elected Vice President.

Niviane Petit Phelps knowingly and willfully made threats to kill and inflict bodily harm upon the Vice President of the United States from February 13 through February 18, according to a criminal complaint filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

On March 3, Special Agent David Ballenger was notified of a threat to kill Harris before Phelps was arrested, following an investigation by the US Secret Service.

The threats were sent by Phelps to her incarcerated spouse in Wakulla Correctional Institution via JPay, a computer application that allows sharing of media between non-incarcerated and incarcerated people.

A Secret Service special agent assigned to the case obtained the videos and photographs that were sent by Phelps to her spouse.

“The videos (that are of relevance to this investigation) generally depict Phelps complaining and speaking angrily to the camera about her hatred for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, among others,” read the complaint. “However, in these videos, Phelps also made statements about killing Vice President Harris.”

The complaint said investigators also found a photo that showed Phelps at a shooting range, holding a pistol and smiling next to a target with bullet holes. She also applied for a concealed weapons permit in February, the complaint said.

On March 3, the Secret Service and detectives from the Miami-Dade Police Department went to Phelps’ residence to interview her, but she refused to speak with them at the time, according to the complaint.

A 38-year-old married man has been arrested by Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kenya for the brutal murder of his side chick.

The suspect, who is identified as Evans Karani is accused of murdering 25-year-old Catherine Nyokabi in Witeithie area, Juja in Kiambu County.

The suspect attempted to discard Nyokabi’s body on Wednesday after the brutal murder but his efforts were thwarted by mud which was confirmed by the Juja Sub-County Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO), Richard Mwaura.

While transporting Nyokabi’s body in his car, Karani’s vehicle got stuck in mud on Bob Harris road in Juja, forcing him to flee, leaving the body and car behind, the DCI said.

Police, who arrived at the scene following a report by locals, verified the car ownership from the National Transport and Safety Authority’s Registrar of Motor Vehicles.

A hunt for Karani was, consequently, launched by a multi-agency team comprising police, DCI officers and the agency’s Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) officer.

Karani was tracked by detective via phone signal in his rented apartment in Githurai Kimbo area, where they arrested the suspect on Friday morning, April 16.

According to the authorities, Nyokabi’s body had been burnt using a corrosive chemical.

“She was badly disfigured. Besides the burn injuries, she had bruises on the face and head. It appears she was tortured before being killed,” a detective told The Standard.

Authorities said the suspect confessed to killing Nyokabi, a hotel worker in Kahawa Wendani, following a bitter conflict, which they had been embroiled in for the past two weeks.

Karani, who is married, reportedly told police Nyokabi was his secret lover.

The deceased’s father, Gitonga Njogu, told The Standard that initial reports suggested his daughter, the first born in a family of four children, died in a road accident.

“On Facebook, certain people were claiming my child was killed in a car crash in Juja. However, when we got to see her body at the City Mortuary, we were shocked. The visible injuries clearly indicated Nyokabi’s cause of death was not a road accident as had been alleged,” said Njogu.

“My girl (Nyokabi) was hard-working, cheerful and very loving. Her future was promising,” said Njogu while attempting to balance a tear in his eyes.

The old man said Nyokabi had, in the past, introduced Karani to him as her suitor.

“I knew them to be lovers. Just like in any other relationship, they had differences, which I would help them iron out. Two weeks ago, my daughter said she and Karani had broken up. I told her, it was okay; she shouldn’t cling onto a relationship in which she was unhappy. That was the last time I heard of the suspect.”

Karani will be arraigned on Monday, April 19, when detectives would seek to detain him longer to allow for investigations to be completed.

A group of White school students in Texas set up a slave auction “Slave Trade” pretending to sell their black classmates on social media have been disciplined.

Screenshot of the Snapchat group called “Slave Trade” shows hows students at the Daniel Ninth Grade Campus in Aledo saying they would spend $1 for one classmate and $100 for another.

The Snapchat group’s name was changed at some point from “Slave Trade” — with emojis of a black man, a gun and a white police officer — to names including racial slurs and the words “farm” and “auction,” WFAA reported.

School students at the Daniel Ninth Grade Campus in Aledo had posted messages on a group Snapchat that was reportedly labelled with terms such as “farm” and “auction”. Ninth graders are aged between 14 to 15.

One message said the price set for one student “would be better if his hair wasn’t so bad”, according to the New York Times, which said it saw screenshots of the racist chats.

The Aledo Independent School District announced Monday it got reports that students were bullied and harassed “based on their race” more than two weeks ago and condemned the students’ behaviour and conducted an investigation in co-operation with the police.

“We made a formal determination that racial harassment and cyber bullying had occurred and assigned disciplinary consequences,” the statement said, without providing details about the number of students involved or the action taken.

“This incident has caused tremendous pain for the victims, their families, and other students of colour and their families, and for that we are deeply saddened,” it added.

The school principal, Carolyn Ansley, said the investigation had found that “racially charged language” had been used in violation of the district’s code of conduct.

However, some parents have criticised the district’s response.

“Can you imagine what it’s like for somebody to put a price on your head?” said Tony Crawford, an organizer for the Parker County Progressives. “I cannot imagine the embarrassment and hurt that people you might be friends with are having that conversation.”

“Calling it cyber bullying rather than calling it racism… that is the piece that really gets under my skin,” parent Mark Grubbs said, NBC News in Dallas reports.

“It makes me sick from the standpoint – ‘Who do they think they are? What gives them the right to think they can do that to someone else?'” Mr Grubbs added.

Another parent, Ella Bullock, said she was “disappointed” that the district’s condemnation “stops short of calling it hate speech”.

Eddie Burnett, president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in Parker County, Texas, said he was “upset” by the news but that it was “not completely surprising”.

“In order to do what these kids did, you had to have already dehumanised your targets,” he said.

“That made it comfortable for you to treat them that way.”

Ghanaian actress, Rosemond Brown a.k.a Akuapem Poloo has been convicted over the publication of her Nude photos with her 7-year-old son.

The actress who had displayed her naked pictures with her son on social media on June 30, 2020, was arraigned on three count of publication of obscene materials, engaging in domestic violence, a conduct that in any way undermines another person’s privacy or integrity and engaging in domestic violence namely conduct that in any way detracts or is likely to detract from another person’s dignity and worth as a human being.

The Ghanaian actress real name Rosemond Alade Brown, had faced backlash in june last year after she shared a nude photo where she posed with her son to celebrate his 7th birthday.

In the picture posted to her Instagram page, the actress was completely naked while holding her son who is standing and focusing his eyes on his mom’s body.
But after heavy criticism, Akuapem Poloo took down the racy image from her page and apologized.
She explained that it wasn’t done out of any bad intention, but to encourage people to appreciate their mothers.
But on Wednesday April 14, 2021, the court found her guilty of committing domestic violence against her son who she undermined his dignity.
Akuapem had pleaded “not guilty” when she was first arraigned but later changed her plea to “guilty” when re-arraigned on Wednesday.
She was then convicted by Her Honour, Christiana Cann of the Accra Circuit Court on her own plea.
The court has deferred her sentencing to Friday, April 16 for her to undergo a pregnancy test in compliance with the law regarding a woman who has been found guilty in court.

According to reports from Ghana, the actress faces up to three years in prison, which is the maximum sentence for her offense.
The court can as well caution or fine her for the offense.
But some reports say it’s possible for the court to put her in jail for even one day.
She has however been remanded into custody for the prosecution to take her to any Government hospital to conduct the pregnancy test
However since the court has asked her to undergo pregnancy test for any public hospital to establish whether she is pregnant or not, chances are that they are exploring the option of prison sentence.

The reason for the pregnancy test is that under the law, a pregnant woman cannot be imprisoned.
So if she is found to be pregnant the court will decide what to do, either to defer the judgement or give her more lighter sentence
