Say no to godfatherism

All right thinking Nigerians must rise up and say no to Buhari's proposed RUGA settlement. Students of history will agree with me that ethnic domination and tribal oppression within same geographic contraption is an indisputable root cause of war. Hutsu and Tutsi massacre comes to mind, the Serbian crisis of the 80s/90s, even the Nigerian civil war!

Irrespective of the good intentions the Buhari administration claims to harbor, right thinking Nigerians must be skeptical and in fact resist the proposed RUGA settlements.. If not for our sake, for the sake of the freedom of our children's future.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has approved the immediate payment of monthly allowances to Corps Members serving in the state with effect from July 2019.

While speaking on Saturday at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp in Nonwa, Tai Local Government Area during an interaction with Corp Members; the Governor said the immediate Administration in Rivers State stopped the payment of allowances to Corps Members Serving in the state.

He said: "As from July 2019, the State Government will begin the payment of allowances to Corps members. The State Coordinator should send the list and account numbers to the office of the Secretary to the State Government.

"Recall that the allowances were stopped by the immediate past Administration. If I had started payment before the elections, they would have said I was playing politics . Now I am no longer seeking another term".

Governor Wike also direct the resumption of the posting of some professionals to Ministries with shortage of manpower .

The Governor donated an official Prado Jeep to the State Coordinator of NYSC, a transformer to power the camp, and the furnishing of the hostels constructed by the Rivers State Government. He directed the immediate construction of the road to the Camp.

Governor Wike inspected the 5000 Capacity auditorium being constructed at the Permanent Orientation Camp by his Administration.

At the ongoing construction site, Governor Wike directed the immediate cessation of the illegal levies being imposed on the contractors by youth groups in the area.

He charged the host community to support the contractor to deliver on the project, while the contractor should engage them in the supply of materials for the project.

NYSC Rivers State Coordinator, Mr Chinwendu Chukwu congratulated Governor Wike on his victory at the polls. He said that his victory is a testimony that Rivers people appreciate his outstanding projects delivery.

He appealed to the Rivers State Governor to continue to promote the welfare of Corps Members in the state and also address some immediate needs at the NYSC Orientation Camp...

Honourable Mutiu Okunola, a former PDP house of reps candidate famous for his disruption of an INEC collation centre at the 2019 general elections is set to dump the peoples democratic party for the ruling party in the coming days.

Privy journos can confirm that his move is coming ahead of the need to reclaim certain waste management contracts with the Lagos state government.

Below is a letter from the Lagos waste management authority, withdrawing Mr. Okunola's long lasting contract with the state government.

In a chat with our correspondent, a senior member of the people's democratic party in Lagos state accused Okunola of complicity and mismanagement of party funds at the last elections. The former house of reps candidate was alleged to have received 67 million Naira from the PDP presidential candidate (Alhaji Atiku Abubakar) for electioneering purposes.

Responding to the allegations, honourable Okunola, via an electronic message justified his decision to dump the PDP, describing the party as incompetent. His words...

"When I was attacked and detained for four weeks who do I see in the party that even come visiting me in force headquarters in Abuja and now that my contracts in Lagos are being revoked who did I see. Rather the PDP leadership in Ikeja supported members to protest against me in my hotel with police security. I think PDP is a party of incompetence and my livelihood can’t be put online with the present leadership".
