Welcome back. It was concluded that what happened was more of misguided exuberance rather than intent to defraud. Please avoid recurrence of such. Do not duplicate other people's posts for whatever reason. Even if you feel you can make a margin on someone else's product, perhaps try selling it on your WhatsApp status, to your Facebook friends, Twitter followers, neighbours, personal friends, family members, or colleagues, after informing the original owner. Nairaland has one of the features of a perfect market, which is that buyers and sellers are very well aware of the prices of each product. It is possible for me to be selling an LG 32" Smart TV used for a year at 100k and you'll be selling the same make and model used for 6 months at N110k. However, it makes no sense at all that you and I would be selling the very same exact item with same pictures and info, on the very same website, in the same section, for different prices. I've been in marketing and sales for more than 10 years, and I don't see how that strategy will work. I was going to say this! It's not everything that we buy used. Some used items could result in health issues, and in extreme cases, even death. I talked about my experience with a used bedbug infested mattress at my sister's place, but what I didn't mention was that I kept getting iller and iller every morning I woke up without knowing what was happening till one day I had to rush of to the hospital. I almost died from Anaphylaxis caused by allergic reaction to bites from tens of bedbugs every night. If you want to keep buyin used things, please stick to the ones which cannot directly affect your health or that of your family in anyway. Personal items especially. 99Good: 3 Likes |

Prince3:I forgot to mention that the moderator has reviewed the ban on that fellow to a couple of days as a warning. I believe he should be able to post before the end of today, or the end of this week. It wasn't just this matter which caused the ban. We discovered the guy had cloned a couple of ADs by other Nairalanders, and it was suspicious at the very least. I really hope that as he claimed, he was only trying to "resell". It did seem fraudulent to us though. Anyway, back to regular programming. I've not sold the TV, I'm just going along with market forces as someone advised.  |

If I post it again now, some will say I should stop, yet since the last time I did, more than 10 people have commented about that same television. As per the things I have for sale, I'm considering selling off my LG 65" 8K NanoCell TV but definitely not on Nairaland, because TV I bought for N1m, somebody will come and price it N180k, and his minions will start attacking and insulting me because I refused to sell. Since 2015, I started the culture of selling off my electronics once they clock 2 years. If you notice, all my electronics are LG and the brand usually comes with 2 years warranty. So once I've carefully used my appliances for almost 2 years, I start selling them off because I don't know how to take electronics for repairs or servicing. So I have: Smart Dishwasher with ThinQ 1.5HP Smart AC with ThinQ 470L Smart Fridge with ThinQ 65" 8K Nanocell TV with ThinQ, Home Dashboard, and Handsfree Voice Control But I don't think these are for the Nairaland market. 1 Like

iamoyindamola:Bro, stop this na. HDMI ARC has all the functions of HDMI in terms of receiving HD images and audio into your TV, then it has the ADDITIONAL function of RETURNING AUDIO from your TV to an external device like a SoundBar. HDMI ARC can do everything an HDMI port will do, and then more.

iamoyindamola:Bros, HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) does not mean that it cannot perform the basic function of Audio-Visual transfer from external device to TV. It simply means in addition, it can return audio back to an external device like a Soundbar if you need it to. Plug a DVD player to the HDMI ARC, it will work. |

yehmy:I like the fact that you drew the line when it came to cars, because you sell cars yourself, so you can easily understand why a car bought a year ago can be selling just a little less than the price it was sold last year. But electronics bought last year when dollar was N300 must be sold for 30% their original price this year. Well done sir! Clap for yourself!! Please do. Prince3:Yes na. It's called recycling. I bought my fridge for example 3 years ago for 200k and today the same fridge is N500k just like in your example. Being that I have used this fridge very carefully, and maintained it quite well, please advise on how much I should sell it. I bought an AC for 250k two years ago, and today it's about N500k. Being that I hardly used it at all, and it has no faults whatsoever, how much should I sell it today? Note that these are real life scenarios, not imaginary examples. Please help me suggest sale prices, considering inflation, exchange rate, depreciation, and real current value of the products. 1 Like

odimbannamdi:You need to see what my fridge went through before it was eventually sold. But when the new owner physically inspected what he was buying, he realized it was virtually brand new. We will keep trying to we get someone who knows the value of what we're selling, not the one who just wants to buy and resell for margins. 2 Likes |
