I know their game. I've been selling on Nairaland for more than 10 years. In fact, if they keep disturbing I increase the price. I can tell there's one of them who is desperately desirous of my TV, but doesn't want to pay the price. His gang members have called, texted, begged, insulted, lied, but nothing.

Thank you my brother. I have sold many items on Nairaland simply by explaining to those interested that what I'm selling is a townhall different.

Whenever I want to buy electronics, I go for the highest end and make sure I use them with the best care, having in mind that I will most likely sell them off within 2 years.

Most sellers don't do this. Other people go to the market looking to buy the cheapest product in the range, then abuse those products for 5 to 8 years and at the end of the day, I'm being told to sell at the same price with them.

I have been on Nairaland since 2005, and have been buying and selling on here since about 2010. I have never been scammed, neither have I scammed anyone.

One of the issues I see here is that buyers are seeking very unrealistically low prices, and that's exactly what scammers use to entice them. A television which was manufactured and sparingly used for less than 25 days in totally, Nairalanders are in my WhatsApp, appealing for me to sell at N50k. Who does that?!

Someone from this same platform bought my fridge for 90k last week, and was surprised at the pristine state it was in. Unless a product is very visibly old or damaged, I don't see any other reason it should be sold for a third of its market price.


Anytime I see any decent looking item with an extremely low price, I just move on. It's a scam!

Additionally, I don't pay without meeting the seller and physically inspecting the item. Some buyers have bought from me and paid upfront, and as much as I appreciate their trust, I advise them against doing it. Personally, I don't think I will ever pay a stranger upfront for a product that is not right in my presence. Even when going to pay for an expensive item, do it in a place you feel safe. Don't go to obscure places, else you be robbed.

This lady @bunnybee successfully scammed me, and I felt so ashamed.
When she posted her items for sale, I decided to patronize the least of the items on that list. We communicated so well and she appeared genuine, I viewed her thread, and I saw how some popular nairalanders wished her and her child some goodwill wishes on their birthdays.

I ran through her phone number on the search bar, and no issue of scam or anything related popped up. The account was also created in 2019 for God's sake and I thought I was thorough with my search.

I wasn't in Abuja at that time, so I decided that someone will do the pickup, and I commits the item with some amount.

I called her on Thursday about someone picking up the item, and she gave an excuse for work on Friday and her line was switched off. She messaged me this morning that Saturday, which is today, will be fine for the pickup.

Unfortunately, all through today her line has been switched off. Funny enough, the moment I paid, I now saw a nairalander warning about her.

Note: No matter how genuine they may appear. Never pay a dime ahead, Some people are so terrible

As for the lady, I have her pictures, with her child, and the account number I transferred money to and our transactional chats. I can harm her in so many ways. I have not decided which yet!!
