The place I'm pretty sure you can get them very cheap is Katsina, Charanchi market (on Sunday).

You can easily relate with cattle traders in the cattle market nearest to you, if you know of those going to that market, you can just join them at the market and if you are lucky, they can transport it free for you because they will be under the cows.

The only thing you have to do is to sort the Hausa man at the back of the trailer who is watching over the cattle so that he will not ignore in case there is any problem.

You will also need to buy feeds, also extremely cheap in same market (dried groundnut leaves), especially if you want to keep the rams for a period of one month before sallah when it will be very cheap as compared to a week ahead.

If you can endure the hardship, you will like it, I can assure you of that.
