OJODU POLICE. GET OLANIYAN OLAYEMI JOSHUA OUT OF ANYWHERE YOU HID HIM!!!

This is Olaniyan Yemi, (resident in Osogbo), a Final Year Student of Accounting at Osun State University, Okuku Campus.

On Tuesday, 28th of February, he traveled to Lagos for his first time to submit some documents at an ICAN Office in Lagos for his IT.

On finishing late, it was already late in the night, so he decided to stay overnight in Lagos, and then travel back to school the next morning

He went to Ojodu Police Station, and explained to the Policemen on duty, that he wanted to sleep over at the Police Station, so that very early in the morning, he could travel back to his school (Uniosun, Okuku Campus), where he came from.

The police men attended to him and requested for his name, his ID card and some other documents to make him identifiable, which he presented.

He afterwards called one of his colleagues in school, to inform him that he would be staying overnight at the Police Station at Ojodu.

Nigerians, that was the last time we heard from Olaniyan Yemi, since two nights ago when he slept at the Police Station.

On getting to the Police Station at Ojodu Berger, the Police men denied having seen anyone, purported to have slept there two nights ago.

Please if you have information on Olaniyan Yemi, kindly call any of these numbers.

Politics / Boko Haram Kills 50 In Damaturu As New Army Chief Visits Troops by neyojoe: 1:31pm On Jul 18, 2015
Michael Olugbode in Maiduguri and Senator Iroegbu in Abuja

In an apparent move aimed at embarrassing the newly appointed Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai who is on morale-boosting visit to troops on the frontline in Yobe State, Boko Haram terrorists yesterday struck at the screening area for Eid prayer in Damaturu, killing over 50 people with many others injured.

The attack carried out by two suicide bombers in the early hours of friday came barely 24hours after the bombings at Gombe Central Market in which over 50 people were also killed.

The high presence of the military to forestall any security breach during the celebration and the presence of soldiers that greeted the arrival of Buratai did not discourage the suicide bombers from attacking the praying grounds.

The Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Col. Sani Usman who confirmed this in a statement yesterday, said that the two suicide bomb explosions took place at about 7.40am.

According to Usman: “Two female suicide bombers; an elderly woman and a 10 year old girl detonated devices at screening areas mounted by the security for intending Muslim worshippers at Layin Gwange, Damaturu and at Phase One, in front of former State Secretariat Complex, Damaturu.

"43 persons died in the first explosion and several people injured, while seven people lost their lives in the second explosion."
Surprisingly, Usman issued another statement later in the day to revise downward the casualty figures to 11.

Sources however said the first figure of 50 killed was the authentic one and that the figure was deliberately revised downward for political reasons.

The Army spokesman stated that troops and security agencies responded immediately to the incidents to bring the situation under control.

Usman assured that the situation was currently under control and that Governor Ibrahim Geidam of Yobe State and the Chief of Army Staff, have sympathised with the victims and the people of the state. He urged residents to stay calm and be security conscious at all times.

Usman added: “No amount of terrorist acts would deter our resolve to stamp out terrorism in our fatherland."

But the early morning bomb blasts did not affect Eid- prayers in Damaturu as hundreds of Muslim worshippers were still at various prayer grounds to thank Allah for the success of the Ramadan fast.

This latest dastardly act in Damaturu brings to 100, the number of those killed since the new Chief of Army Staff took over few days ago and over 700 since President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office on May 29, 2015.

After the attack, Buratai joined the state governor and some government officials/military personnel to pray at the Yobe Mosque and Islamic Centre.

Shortly after prayers, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam appreciated the coming of the Army chief, insisting that he has a lot ahead of him in maintaining peace in the troubled area.

The COAS on his part said his coming was a strategic decision.

He also said it would equally stimulate military/civil relationship “which will boost the morale of the troops.”

Buratai also said the visit would afford him the opportunity to assess the equipment on ground and the level of the threat posed by the Boko Haram militants.

On whether the over 4,000 soldiers sacked by the Army over the Boko Haram fight would be recalled, Buratai said he would not tolerate indiscipline in the Army.

He said: "I don't know how they would become a problem to us concerning your questions. But what I would tell you is that I cannot tolerate indiscipline in the force."

While in the state, the chief of army staff is expected to hold discussions with officers and men on ground with a view to enhancing the fight against the terrorists.

In Maiduguri, the capital of troubled Borno State, the celebration was low key as residents of the town were locked in for security reasons.

Many of those who went to the congregational prayer had to trek a long distance as vehicular movements were restricted.

Education / Olaoluwa Hallowed-Oluwadara Is Africa’s Youngest Ph.d Holder by neyojoe: 9:51pm On Jun 29, 2015
Dr. Olaoluwa Hallowed Oluwadara

A 24-year-old Nigerian on Wednesday made history in Africa as he received a Ph.D Degree in Mathematics at the convocation ceremony of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) for the 2012/2013 academic session.

Olaoluwa Hallowed Oluwadara, whose thesis was adjudged the best in Engineering and Science, having made a cumulative grade point average of 5.0, was described as the youngest Ph.D holder in Africa.

According to the university, Oluwadara was able to finish the programme within the three years of stipulated period.

He got two first and second degrees in Mathematics (Pure Option) and Physics in 2007 and 2008 respectively, at the age of 18, from the University de Bangui, Central African Republic.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues at the convocation ceremony, Oluwadara said his achievement was not only a personal triumph but a triumph for mathematics as a useful subject of study in Nigeria.

How I emerged Africa’s youngest Ph.D holder at 24
24 year old Olaoluwa Oluwadara is University of Lagos youngest Ph.D graduating student, and also Nigeria’s and Africa’s. In this interview with ENCOMIUM Weekly, the Doctor of Mathematics gave a graphic report of how he achieved that feat and much more…

You achieved a rare feat as the youngest Ph.D holder in Africa. How does it feel?

It feels good and fulfilling. It is not my ultimate goal but I am honoured and humbled that my hard-work has been rewarded. I’m really grateful to God.

What do you think helped you achieve this?

I owe this success to God. Over the years, He has helped me to set incredible goals for myself and worked hard towards them with focus, discipline and consistency. Good mentoring from my parents, pastors and supervisor also helped.

During your programme, what was your daily routine like?

I woke up every day in front of my laptop. I hardly shut it down because it was a useful tool for my research. I spent time studying and researching both at home and in school. I also had time to pray in the morning and attend church services.

What was the driving force for you?

The desire to be the best has always been my driving force. I wanted to excel, to reach the goals I fixed for myself. I kept on pressing forward.

Tell us some of the ups and downs you had enroute to where you are today?

At 13, I failed my A’ levels during my first attempt for reasons other than poor performances. I say this because I had the best result in my school before the exam. It was a serious disappointment but it turned out to be very pivotal because not only did I learn how to be humble, patient, resolute and how to depend on God, I also channeled my frustration into better performances. I went on to have better scores and more outstanding successes after that setback.

What age did ‎you start and finish pre-university?

In Central African Republic (C.A.R) and many francophone countries, primary school spans six years, secondary over seven and the University at Undergraduate level over three years. I started primary school at 5, secondary school at10, and reached A’ levels at 13, courtesy of four double promotions (one in primary school and three in secondary school).

Can you share with us your growing up days and the pre-university schools you attended?

I had a normal childhood. I was dearly loved by my parents and siblings. My parents really invested in my education. When they were chanced, they tutored me in Mathematics and other subjects. I attended the International Preparatory College (College Preparatoire International in French) at Primary and Secondary levels (from 1994 to 2003) and the Lycee d’Application de l’Ecole Normale Superieure (2004) for my second A’ levels.

Tell us about your family, your position in the family and what kind of family you are from?

I come from a godly family of three children. I am the last born of my parents. They are missionaries of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry to C.A.R.

You had your first and second degrees outside Nigeria. How would you rate the education system there viz-a-viz that of Nigeria?

French speaking countries are known for their solid mathematics background. However, the education system is not only about Mathematics. I think each education system has its strong points and weak points and differences are bound to be. The system in Nigeria has a lot more openings and benefits from better funding but we can do better in lifting our standards, especially at the secondary school and undergraduate level.

What were the challenges here in Nigeria that you didn’t face outside Nigeria?

Coming to Nigeria was a personal challenge for me since it was my first time staying away from my parents and adapting was always going to be a challenge. However, during my Ph.D. programme, I had challenges of having access to some relevant articles and there were no research grants to facilitate the publication of my works in open access international journals.

What did you actually study in your first and second degrees?

I studied Mathematics and Physics at undergraduate level, bagging two Bachelor degrees simultaneously in the process. I also have two Masters’ degrees in the same aforementioned subjects.

What were your cumulative points there?

The education system in C.A.R. did not operate CGPAs. We use aggregate scores often over 20 and converting to GPA is not really plausible. For example, I scored 16.36, 15.31 and 15.76 over 20 respectively in each of the years of my Bachelor Degree in Mathematics.

What had been your childhood dream?

As a child, I wanted to work at the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) of the USA. I also wanted to work for the CIA and for IBM.

Are your parent’s academics?

Even though they are missionaries, my dad studied Mechanical Engineering and my mom, Town Planning.

You are now a doctorate degree holder. What next?

I would like to work as a lecturer and a researcher. In the near future, I will go for my post-doctorate and another doctorate degree by God’s grace.

Did you envisage you will be the youngest Ph.D graduate in Africa?

Yes, I did. I was following other Ph.D candidates and their ages at graduation. There was a 26 year old doctor from University of Lagos and a 25 year old doctor from Babcock University. Thank God, I was able to beat their records.

Politics / Drop Ur Crown&pursue Politics-afenifere Reacts To Oba Of Lagos Anti-igbo Comment by neyojoe: 6:12pm On Apr 07, 2015
Pan-Yoruba group, Afenifere has called on the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu to drop his crown and pursue politics following his recent anti-igbo remarks. Spokesperson of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin spoke to Vanguard about the position of the group;
"We say with all sense of responsibility that if these were truly the words of Kabiyesi, he has clearly crossed the line of royal decency, desecrated the royal stool and violated the electoral laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and engaged in promotion of hate speech capable of fueling ethnic tension and clashes which are against the spirit of peaceful co-existence which we have achieved in recent years.
We respect the right of Oba Akiolu to drop the crown at Iga and become Director of Mobilisation for the leader of his party if he so desires, but we detest his hiding behind the throne to fan the embers of disunity which could put Yoruba people in harm’s way wherever they are living as settlers. Yoruba people are too civilized to support the primitive intimidation of fellow Nigerians just as we will not accept such action being visited on our people in any part of Nigeria.” he said

Crime / Revealed! Meet Jihadi John - The World's Most Wanted Man by neyojoe: 1:39pm On Feb 27, 2015
First picture of the face of the younger, normal, happy looking schoolboy who has now turned into the reviled, disgusting ISIS executioner, Jihadi John, who has publicly beheaded many foreign nationals and now the face of ISIS. Originally born in Kuwait before moving to UK at 6, his name is Mohammed Emwazi. He embraced British life, playing football in the affluent streets of West London while supporting Manchester United. Neighbours recalled a polite, quietly spoken boy who was studious at his Church of England school, where he was the only Muslim pupil in his class. The son of a Kuwaiti minicab driver, young Emwazi arrived in Britain speaking only a few words of English, and appeared more interested in football than in Islam. It was only after he won a place studying computing at the University of Westminster that his behaviour began to change.

He was on a UK terror watch list, but managed to flee to Syria in 2012. Now, he's known around the world as the notorious Islamic State murderer who has shocked the world with his blood lust.

The university has since been linked with several proponents of radical Islam, and Emwazi appeared to have fallen under their sway.

He began attending different mosques and was known to associate with Bilal el-Berjawi, who was killed by a drone strike in Somalia three years ago.

In August 2009, after his graduation, Emwazi flew to Tanzania in East Africa with friends and told authorities they were going on a wildlife safari.

But the group was refused entry and put on a plane to the Netherlands, where Emwazi later claimed he was questioned by an MI5 agent called Nick.

The British officer accused him of planning to travel to Somalia to join the militant group Al Shabaab, he said, and said MI5 had been watching him.

Emwazi denied the accusation – bragging that he would not take a designer Rocawear sweater in his luggage if he was planning to join Somalian rebels.
In emails to the campaign group Cage, Emwazi said: ‘He [Nick] knew everything about me; where I lived, what I did, the people I hanged around with.’
‘Nick’ then tried to recruit the 21-year-old, Emwazi claimed, and threatened him when he refused to cooperate.

Emwazi said the officer told him: ‘You’re going to have a lot of trouble…You’re going to be known…You’re going to be followed…Life will be harder for you.’
On his return to Britain, Emwazi said his family told him they had been ‘visited’, and he claimed a woman he had been planning to marry broke off their engagement because her family had also been contacted and were scared.

According to Emwazi, his family then began planning for him to travel to Kuwait to get him away from the ‘harassment’ he had suffered in Britain and he went to work for a computer programming company in the emirate.

In his account to Cage, he said security officers continued to visit his family and he decided to make a ‘new life’ in Kuwait, where he was once again planning to marry.
But following a visit back to Britain in 2010 he said he was stopped at Heathrow Airport and barred from flying back to Kuwait, and claimed that he was interrogated by an aggressive officer who threw him against a wall, grabbed his beard and strangled him.
Emwazi made an official complaint to the Independent Police Complaints Commission, saying he had been assaulted by the officer.
But court documents show he was also arrested himself later that year and charged with possessing five stolen bicycles, although he was later acquitted at court.
Incensed by the decision to stop him returning to Kuwait, Emwazi told Cage he felt ‘like a prisoner’ in London.

He said he was ‘a person imprisoned and controlled by security service men, stopping me from living my new life in my birthplace and country, Kuwait.’
Friends told the Washington Post he was already talking wildly about travelling to Syria, where the uprising against Bashar al Assad was beginning in earnest.
But he also applied for work in Saudi Arabia, taking a course to teach English and applying for work at language centres in the kingdom.

Rejected by those, his father suggested he change his name in a bid to avoid any block from British authorities, and Cage said he changed his name by deed poll in 2013 to become Mohammed al-Ayan.

He made one more attempt to fly back to Kuwait that year but was barred from leaving Britain again and disappeared from his parents’ home a week later.
His parents reported him missing after three days but claimed it was four months before police arrived at their home and said they had information he was in Syria.
His father, 51, told police they were wrong and that his son was in Turkey helping refugees from Syria, and the family are said to continue to deny that he is the masked IS executioner.

Meanwhile, two British trainee medics who met Jihadi John in Syria said he had a fearless ‘nothing to lose’ attitude and was always ready for war.

Speaking anonymously to ITV, they said the killer was unmarried and was probably picked for the executioner poster boy role because of the way he handled difficult situations.

One of them said: ‘He seems like someone with not a lot to lose. There has been incidents where he has run into checkpoints and he dealt with people in a careless, gung-ho manner with disregard for his own safety.
