I just can understand how an electrical engineering graduate will not know how to use a simple instrument like a voltage tester.

This new guy in my office shocked all of us on the field. We were trouble shooting for a fault in a distribution panel. During the course of this job a colleague of mine told the new guy to check for voltage on a particular cable using the tester with him, he supposedly tested and replied negative, my colleague was like "pls check again" he insisted there was nothing on the cable, my colleague so sure of what he has done at the other end i.e terminating the other end of the cable to a 220v supply came to verify for himself. He told him to check again in his presence only to discover that the guy in question did not place his thumb at the base of the tester to complete the circuit. The guy collected d tester from him and tested d cable himself and immediately the bulb on d tester came on. To our astonishment, dis guy was like pls show me, how did u do it? It just got me wondering the type of graduates our universities dish out to the society.

I think ur sense of judgement on dis guy is too harsh. Firstly u need to be questioned where u got ur experience? Am sure u never got dis experience as an undergraduate or fresh graduate. We-we know now, what will do during practicals in school days. It is either no consumables or d lab is congested with practical theory discussion ongoing.And all we do is get ur graph drawn, submit and u are done. Don't be surprised many graduate of engineering can not even fix ceiling fan perfectly or resolve simple wiring faults in der individual residents. D question is were d thought? We were just too busy with HISTORY OF ENGINEERING just like somebody said and not d koko in school. Almighty Laplace Transform, Fourier Series, Jacoby, Op -amps, circuit Theory, etc were d order of d days when we were in school. All applications learnt were just theories and no practical supports. How many engineering graduates can boldly affirmed dat he/she did final year project in school. All we do is, go to library or find out from outgone graduates to get ready made project topics. Get one or two and summit for approval. D good 4 nothing supervisors who suppose to go through d processes of d project work with a student only collect project pay from d student and mark paper reports. D stress on d part of student is re-writing of chapters in d paper report. PLS DONT BLAME D GUY. U CAN BE SURPRISED HE CAN EVEN BE BETTER THAN U WHEN PUT THROUGH OVER TIME. D PROBLEM IS FROM OUR INSTITUTIONS.

Got an offer sometimes last month from a new company in IB around Bodija, submitted my CV and did interview same day...they even said they need more hands.

I rejected the offer due to the pay because I have something am doing currently. Let me know if you might be interested!

Candidates are now heading straight to the location arranged 4 dis all important interview. Many has arrived and stress a little because of d traveling to lagos yesterday. Best of luck

Let's just hope that God favours us.
My problem with the questions they asked is that some of the questions are incorrect, ambiguous, and sometimes just dumb.
The publisher of that Textbook did a very poor job. I have never considered buying that book. Maybe I have to rethink now.
Information from inside source makes it clear that anybody below 2:1 will not even be considered. Majority if not all of the people that will be considered will be from the engineering.

@DatechMan, my coordinator, I thought I was d only one u took note of some questions with no suitable answer in d options. E.g Non of d resistivity questions has suitable option as answer. However, those dat studied d questions $ solutions b4 d exam date will definitely scored such questions ( questions with wrong solutions)

I dont no why dey cannot av fresh simple questions to access all and sundry. With simple questions with cannot still score same marks, am sure. Though scores might be keen, d best will still come out gallantly. I pray 4 d best and I hope to me us in d academy.

i can't ve 100% coz i prepared with gmat d way i suggested to d house. i ddnt knw w ve so many ppl here jst observing. u can ask adeniyi as i told him to study gmat especially the general engineering, never knew they will ask field based questions.

I stand to be corrected u only said study gmat. u did nor narrow down dat will study general engineering questions. Go thru ur post frm d beginning. myself and Adeniyi00 even discussed on whatapp beyond dis thread and he never said somebody said categorically to study general engineering. Though is one those things common with ppl. I remember when I was I still an under graduate we av ppl u hide informations asper likely questions, A.O.C. etc as regard courses yet will passed. Der is nothing stopping d nairalanders scoring 100% in dat test if our guy timlbk guided us very well. u need to apologize to whole house and do not do dat on dis site again. I av being on dis site 4 a while and I belong to company of those u are open to members. D essence of dis site is to help one another wholly without any attachment . Dis thing pain me o but I tried shall without seen the questions b4.

Gmat or no Gmat caught us unaware. Asper me I hate Gmat, I believe in simple test to bring the best from applicants.
I was d no 3 man on gate crasher list. we hope 4 d best.
I equally want to appreciate & salute Adeniyi00 who made d information available to majority of us. I strongly believe dis is our chance to fulfill in our choosing career.
