Health / Re: Egg Donor Chronicles: My Experience In A Nigerian Fertility Clinic (with Pics) by nezer83: 7:34pm On Feb 20, 2018
Odingo1:

The egg contain someone DNA, if it is done rampantly where everyone will be selling egg, the children that will be in this world in the future will be marrying their sisters and brothers and this will result to new strange diseases. That is why the core northerners have various strange diseases in their midst because they marry their cousins their father brother children.

Correct me if am wrong, though the egg and sperm carry the chromosome, but perhaps the blood plays more role in gene and DNA, if the donated and fertilized egg is incubated by the woman for 9 months feeding from her blood, I think the product (child) will inherit greater percentage of the incubating mothers DNA and gene.

God's P. A, custodian of God's blessings, oga Judge, I hail you sir

Can u people just think!!
I am not judging nor condemning the lady. Life is a choice and God himself gave us power to make choices at the prevailing information at our disposal. She made a choice and traded her eggs and got instant reward monetary wise, it's not a crime atleast against humanity ( I don't know if it is against God) .
My thought is, saying she made a sacrifice and that God will bless her is a fallacy, cos she already got blessed in the process.
I hope u understand.

Who are you to judge?

Am not judging neither am I suggesting she made some sacrifice to put a smile on another's face.
All am saying is that she used her knowledge of this to her advantage.
She already received her blessings and no other blessing will suffice.

Nice. Good job. You made a great sacrifice. God will surely bless you cause, you have wiped away someone's tears.

But I was not for free and neither will the fertility clinic give it out for free. It's her trade. She just traded her fertile eggs for money.
Am not sure that act deserves God's blessings.
Politics / Re: Fuel Scarcity: NEC Plans Price Review by nezer83: 2:01pm On Feb 16, 2018
being:
But what exactly is wrong with subsidizing?!!

the only issue I see with it is the fraud that comes with it. which is why nnpc should be the sole importer to at least limit the fraud to nnpc.

When nnpc talks about underrecovery, this amount has already been over recovered by the increase in crude oil price.

You sell unrefined at $40 you buy refined at $50

Now you sell unrefined at $70 you buy refined at $80.

So the loss due to higher import expense has been offset by higher export income.

If we decide not to see it this way and agree on buying at N175 per litre, when oil gets back to it's 2014 price- $110; we will be buying at more than N250 per litre following the same tortoise logic.
The question then is why does $110 per barrel of crude in 2014 translate to N97 and then $110 in 2018 translate to N250 per litre of petrol? It's simply the CBN FX rate. (No wonder our reserves is growing in leaps and bounds) That's a story for another day.

What we should be talking about is increasing the capacity of d NNPC to import 100% of our needs while other marketers buy from them.

Some people blamed lack of local refineries for all these price brouhaha- truth is if there are local refineries, are they expected to buy at int'l price and in dollars? if they are, then prices will still be high subject to int'l price.

If Nigeria had functional refineries, they will buy crude at international price but the landed cost won't be up to #175 naira as there won't b need to pay Freight and other import Logistics cost. Secondly there will be enough supply to meet demand (which is the cause of scarcity and black market prices).
Invariably, local refineries is part of the solution atleast to address the issue of scarcity.
Nigerians should be prepared for higher prices cos the price of crude oil is and will keep smiling upwards.
It's a cycle.

ivandragon:

your reasoning is severely obtuse...

there is a challenge facing us right now, increase price of fuel or continue to subsidise... that is a decision that must be made...

you said fuel should be totally deregulated, which is fine.

I simply gave my own opinion why an increase for now is not feasible & that subsidy exist in other forms. if the sector is fully deregulated & a marketer decides to sell fuel at N400 per litre in a distant northern village where it knows it enjoys monopoly for various reasons, do you think the government will just fold its arms?

you can't comprehend that even if the other seaports are operational, the price of fuel will always increase the further inland you go. simple logic, you can't digest...

What do u mean by subsidy exist in other forms??
Subsidy is subsidy no matter how you try to brand it.

ivandragon:

fine.

if Nigerians can handle the increase, no problem.

but note that the landing cost of N171 is for PMS to land in LAGOS...

the further inland you go, the more expensive it gets & less demand for the product, so marketers rather sell were they can make quick returns with little stress & risks...

& that is one area of subsidy Nigerians overlook & which is why subsidy will ALWAYS exist in one form or another...

for instance, with total deregulation, fuel (as long as it is imported) can be sold for N175 in Lagos as transport costs will be drastically reduced, the further inland the commodity moves, be it by road, rail or pipelines, the more expensive it gets
. no two states will sell at same price... (well, 80% won't anyway).

This is why Nigeria need to improve the inland water ways and develop more ports. Its cheaper to transport through the water.
Nigeria also need to invest in refineries, actually we should have no business importing petroleum products, rather it should be one of Nigeria's export. So long Nigeria imports the products, we can not be absorbed from the effects of the rising crude oil price either we pay in subsidy or Nigerians bear the high cost.
Way forward is to develop our refining and transport infrastructure.
God bless Nigeria!

so fuel would sell for like N190 in Ekiti, N230 in Abuja, N245 in Enugu, N300 in KD & N350 in Sokoto... & do you think the North will agree to that?

This is why ladies need to work hard, pay your bills, so you can close your legs and say no ring no sex, simple, and if you want to use sex to get favors use it in the best way, like to get a job, get a car, a house, and not for one broke guy, that will at the end of the day, leave you after servicing him for years under the guise of long term relationship. it's time for no ring no sex policy, stop giving this boys pussy, let them do what is right, dating is a trick to get steady sex,and worse still they don't want you to benefit hence the line of "am I your father, are you a prostitute" .a guy who asks you.for sex when he.doesn't know your father's house is nothing but a THIEF
Madam, there are girls that will claim to be in a very serious relationship with a guy, chop his money and bleep him yet won't allow him know the nearest bus stop let alone her father's house.

APC Govt and policy U turn, they are now going back to the GEJ policy. Anyway it's a good development, these guys are time killers and extortionist especially SON, they take ur product in the name of sample for testing and never return it or get back to you. I am currently chasing them for dish washers and microwave oven they collected from my container since September 2016, not to talk about UPS battery and wooden door they collected in the name of testing. They are thieves and have no relevance at the port.
