A Guardian article quotes a Variety report that they felt Batgirl wouldn't recoup it's cost(it would flop), so doing this would be the best financial move because it would afford them writing it off as a tax write down... Why think that way? I know Zaslav is prioritising cost cutting but something must have prompted this, but if this is just a decision he took because he feels Batgirl isn't big enough for Cinema and isn't small enough for streaming, then color me bewildered...

Bros, we are already back to square one. There's no clear story as it is or a build up to a big event. Flash film will tank so bad because of Ezra Miller. We have had 4 avengers film and by 2025 could have 6 Avengers films without a JL 2 or MOS 2. So what's the progress?
You guys seeing HC as the bad guy don't know the full details. HC even though he is all for the money, has sacrificed a lot for things he considers a passion project.
WB didn't want a MOS 2 but WBD that's wanting a MOS 2 will need to convince him with a good script and direction and he will be back.
He loves Superman and it's not just the money for him. It's easier to put a man down or blame him without knowing the full story.
