My laptop battery refuses to charge,it has to be connected to electricity before it even comes on and when its on it never charges above 3%.Does that mean the battery has had it?and i have to get a new one?

Its as logical as how u've explained it. The battery has had enough of this life!!! Get a new one, dont make things complicated for urself. Its only the battery.

hey poster. once had same problem only that mine went flat as in 0% inshort my lappy kinda became a mobile desktop that i once had to use it with a UPS! what i now found out is that batteries have a life i.e. a definite number of cycles it may be recharged before going bonkers. so try and get a new one, should go for betwee. 9-15k in computer villa depending on brand. cheers

go and get a battery doubler dat will double ur batery autonomy and it will come back to life, n last u for over an hour without electricity,

this happened to me about 2 months ago.my laptop suddenly refused to charge,initially i thought it was from the battery so i bought a new one for about 11k, and the problem persisted.it was later that i discovered that the fault is from the charger.so my advice is that before you discard the battery look for whoever that has the same charger with you and try if it will charge your laptop,
