If you are Blue fan, Can you please identify yourself here.

Scolari has now lost twice at home in the space of a month and thrice in only 3 weeks.

Hurray for attractive football.

Who can predict which team is most likely to bundle the Chavs out of the next domestic competition?
Last season, it was Barnsley.
Yestersday it was Burnley.
I am placing my bets on any team strating with a B and ending with ley to defeat Chelski next.
Bornley,Bernley, Binsley (Any idea if any of these teams exist in England?? grin)

@everyone asking for me. . .

What is all this noise about sef? We lost to Burnley. . shame on us! Now Arsenal fans come here saying we won't win the premiership. . . who is Arsenal. . because you have a bunch of School kids that beat Wigan 3-0. . so what?

ManU got knocked out of the CC and FACup. . Did that stop them from winning a double?. . . Not even a sinlge one of you even saw the match. . and you are spewin' rubbish here based on the results. . If the game did not require a winner yesterday, it would have been a draw. .
What's all the drama because we lost on penalties. . . Name me one premiership team that cannot lose at home to Burnley on penalties. . ?

@Chac. .

Ehm. .  I know you were replying very late yester' night after a long day's job . . . but can you please tell me where I pointed out we was going to win the quad!!
And yes!!! . . . I am not loquacious, I am just confident of Chelsea. . I am sorry if my confidence hurts you. . . I know being 8pts behind Chelsea at this point was not in the script but . . . .

@Debosky

Chelsea could not even beat a 10 man team!!!!. . Obviously you did not see the match. . Chelsea was already playing with 10men for most parts of the second half after injury forced DiSanto to go off. . . .and Burnley was red carded in only the final minutes of normal time. .

We still top the table on the premiership . . . andy'all predicting doom b'because we lost to Burnley. . Y'all need to be on top to win it. . For now . . watch shit unfold! is all I have to say. .

@Somze,

Scolari's loses at home is all you could bring out from the match? . . It's always very obvious when you don't like something . . I wonder what length of an essay you would have written in defence if this happened to Mourinho!!!

Sometimes things happen . . We Chelsea fans are so used to not losing at home that when we now do, we think we are going to get relegated. . . ManU lost to Portsmouth 2-0 at home last season . . well you know how the story ended!

To want to play good football is to be left exposed to painful defeat once in a while . . . If you want to play expansive football, you have to let in goals sometimes which could lead to defeat but will ultimately win trophies and long term success. .

I've said it anyways whether we like it or not . . It's Chelsea's premiership !!!!

I can't remember Man U losing 2 - 0 to Portsmouth at home last season. We lost 1 - o and that was in the FA cup not the EPL.

Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here by Ibime(m): 8:32pm On Nov 13, 2008
The outpouring of relief and mockery at every single Chelsea loss shows that our rivals are really scared of what we might do. . . . Nateevs, I dey with you. . . . . however, I share A-40's belief that EPL is our only shot this season. . . . . .our midfield is too brittle to avoid slip ups in the Cup games . . . . .again, we can go back to the Deco debate as to why our midfield is now brittle. . . however, Deco gives us an advantage in the EPL, but not in the big games. . . . . plus, our wingers are so weak that the burden of creativity lies with the midfield, causing them to relax their defensive responsibilities. . . .the squad has been underinvested in for the last two seasons. . . . the strain of the quality of the squad was already showing under Mourinho as Malouda and Kalou can never replace Robben and Duff. . . . We are also missing Makelele. . .I told you that Mikel plays well but defensively he is no match, even for a 35 year-old Maka. . . . . no yawa, our last hope is EPL and we will win it. . . . so let us save the laughs for last.

Somze angry angry angry angry sad sad sad sad You will never be satisfied until we bring JM back. You never come to enjoy when we win, you only come to complain when we lose. This is the problem with many JM-era fans. Soon enough, you may stop supporting Chelsea altogether. Are you satisfied with InterMilan's performances this season?
Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here by nateevs(m): 9:47pm On Nov 13, 2008
@Ndumart

I actually meant to say ManCity. . .

@Somze,

So what if we lost 3 in a week . . .
You are in no position to comment about yesterday's match. . because you did not watch it. . Incase you don't know. . . Malouda and Kalou lost the match. . . with beautiful chances they should have scored. . .
I hope you remember our shambolic 2-0 loss to Aston Villa and unimpressive 1-1 display with Rosenborg all in one week . .when JM was manager. . .  and not to talk of the strings of boring stuff before then. .

@Critalz .

Abi ooo. . . nothing lasts forever. .

@Ibime,

Way to go . . However, I cannot subject to any belief that EPL is our only shot. . . when we still have Ashley Cole, Ballack, Essien, Joe Cole, Unfit Drogba, Carvalho all to comne back from various setbacks . . Never!!! With January around the corner and up to £50m to spend on player and with a world class coach . .  Never!!!

At the same time I still do not agree that our Midfield has become brittle. . . You cannot convince me. . Mikel was the cause of Roma's defeat . . making two silly mistakes. . . but not for Liverpool. They were lucky. . they did not break our midfield down. . Neither did ManU.
OK Roma did, but that was a one-off thing . . . Arsenal broke ManU's midfield down on saturday. . but what happened against Hull and Stoke ?
Yesterday was a loss on penalties . . . PENALTIES!!! Had nothing to do with Midfield. . Deco did not play the whole of the second half . . and we were still ahead when he went off. . WE PLAYED FOR OVER 25MINS WITH 10 MEN. . who does that. . ?

One more thing . . remember the small team hero . . yes Anelka . . If he had played yesterday . . we would beaten them silly. . . !!! Funny but true!

Our losses do not pull enough stats to conclude our midfield is brittle. . OK Mikel is not a Maka! but we do not miss him . . . There's nothing wrong! Look at the premiership, we've conceeded only 4 goals. . . while we've scored 29

Liverpool . . . scored 19 conceeded 8
Arsenal . . . . .scored 25 conceeded 13
ManU . . . . . . scored 20 conceeded 10

It's unfortunate that the losses have come in quick successions. . kind of creating a false trend. . but like one of my mates said two days ago. . . Scolari has not had the chance to train our first 11 since the beginning of the season . . . He hasn't! and hey that's true. .

I don't know know if you've looked at it but only Cech, Lampard and Anelka have played every match. . others have been injured one time or the other. . . I need to see a first 11 play over a period of time b4 any -ve trends can be considered for analysis!

It's a serious offence.

Arsenal . . . . .scored 25 conceeded 13
ManU . . . . . . scored 20 conceeded 10

This does not tell the full story. . . . . we concede less in general because we dominate the possession. However, against the bigger teams, we cannot dominate possession. . . . . hence, it is important to have a solid midfield. . . . . I don't know about you but IMO Man Utd and Liverpool tore through our central midfield at will. . . . . the first 25 minutes against Man Utd, they picked holes through our midfield. . . . . Liverpool did the same in the first few minutes and the whole second half. . . . infact, Alonso's goal was in part because Deco failed to track him. . . . . this would not have happened if Essien was playing instead of Deco. . . . .however, on the whole, I am more than pleased with our progress so far. I do not compromise on good football, that was why I disliked Mourinho. . . . . but at the same time, I am practical. . . . . I do not see us doing anything significant in Champions League. . . . . we have become a flat-track bully, easily bullying small teams into submission but succumbing to bigger teams who do not allow us to have possession. . . . .hence, we need a more physical presence in midfield for the big games. . . . .I still don't know of any big team with the ability to stop Essien when he makes his runs. . . . . infact, I believe we would have won the Champions League against Man Utd easily if Essien had played in midfield and Ivanovic had played right back.

Another thing that Somze is forgetting is that if Mourinho had the same injuries as we have now, he would have been throwing tantrums. . . . can you imagine a Mourinho team without Essien, Drogba, Ballack and Carvalho?. . . . . hehehehehehehe. . . . . Mourinho would go nuts! We would lose more than a few points. . . . kudos to Scolari for inventing a system that relies less on individuals and more on a style of football. . . . . thats why people like Belleti can fit seamlessly into the team and play fabulously. . . . this would never happen under Mourinho. . . . infact, without the physicality of Drogba and Essien in particular, Mourinho's football ethos completely falls apart. . . . . I have never known another manager who relies so absolutely on certain key players being fit for his system to work. . . . one or two bad injuries and the season implodes.
Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here by nateevs(m): 12:28am On Nov 14, 2008
@Ibime . . .

I do understand that what I pointed out doesn't tell the whole story. I just used that to state that the reason we haven't conceeded as many goals is because we are strong in midfield and is the same reason we score a lot of goals. We should ask if these teams we beat silly were not in the premiership last year. . . In case you forgot, at this same time last year . . . We had . .

Drawn with Liverpool at Home. . 1-1
Lost to ManU away . . . 0-2
Lost to Arsenal . . . 0-1
Drawn with everton . . 1-1
Lost to Aston Villa . . . 0-2

These were the supposed big teams. . then.

Meanwhile in the CL we had drawn with Rosneborg 1-1,
Had a shambolic performance against Valencia and struggled to win 2-1. ( I hope you remember this boring match) .
Drew with Schalke 0-0

We later on in the season drew 4-4 with Aston Villa, 4-4 with Spurs, 0-0 with Valencia, ah ha! I don't know if you saw the match but we almost did not beat Leicester city in the CC . . scoring 3 goals in the last few minutes to win 4-3. . managed to beat QPR 1-0

We then went on to draw 0-0 with Liverpool, lost 2-1 to Spurs and 1-1 with Portsmouth. .

And now you wonder, how the hell did we get to the finals of 3 competitions . . with all this crap!

Well the truth is, it is easy to single out poor runs and find all sorts of reasons for them. I like to take a fair view a large number of matches rather than a selected few. Guess what ? We did not have Deco and we were not playing any attractive. . and we still did not beat the big teams as at this stage last year.
In the midst of all this we beat Hull 4-0, thumped ManCity 6-0 beat Westham 3-0, and loads of 2-0 wins against all the small teams. . .

So have we done well this season . . Absolutely. . despite all the name-calling. Do we have the potential to do a triple final again? Absolutely.!!!!!!

Thanks for being realistic

There are lot of things wrong with that Chelsea team forget your results check your teams performances against strong opposition and compare it to 2 or 3 seasons ago lets even compare it to last season injury or no injury every team besides Liverpool have one or two injury woes so that point holds no water the air of invincibility has long left Chelsea you might beat the Sunderland's Blackburn's and Boro's but this Chelsea would always falter when the big boys come knocking

@nateevs
I have told you the league is not won or lost in mid-November so don't get too cocky

@HNIC

Bitter truth cry

I watched the Roma match with a United fan and i told him i need to see chelsea trailing by 2 goals, that i need to see this team coming back to draw or win. It was obvious we cannot come back. How could we call ourself a superb team and still lose a match in which the opposition scored within 10 minutes. Why cant we do something for 80 minutes?

Finally , i know u will be missing Essien somehow. , remember what we talked about at the beginning of this season about mikel and essien ?? Mikel is no good to me for now , when essien gets fit in january , hes going back to his position and mikel watch from the bench.

Are you saying JM never had injuries? Oh please, stop distorting known facts. JM had injuries from day one and he got 2 EPLs to his name. Drogba was always injured in the season, so was Duff, Robben, Joe Cole, Terry, Both Keepers. We did not have a right back, left back but JM coped. He always delivered trophies. We were never humiliated (well except boro).

Stop this your distortion. I can never have a sincere discussion of JM with you and Nateevs. Even Grant was better than JM in your eyes. How preposterous!

Every Manager relies on key players. Your post is completely laughable.

Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here by nateevs(m): 2:56am On Nov 15, 2008
I am a big fan of Mourinho. . I actually took time out to study his tactics . . and I had his various formations and styles of play in a book I used to keep. .but how can anyone start to compare Scolari with Mourinho? They started on different levels.
No disrespect to Mourinho, he spent about £250m over two seasons. . . Scolari spent £24m . . You can say he inherited players. . but so did JM in Terry, Lampard, Gallas, Joe Cole, good Johnsen, Robben and Petr Cech that formed a major part of his success. .

LPS has done the intelligent thing by not discarding players and sticking with a wining team. . . and to say we cannot win the premiership if we do not beat any of the big four is naive. . With the present table, if we draw against all the big teams and continue our domination over the small teams, we will win the premiership . . and why is it so easy for us all to start to conclude that we can't beat nig teams. . .
ManU have played 3 big games . . They've lost two and drawn one. . it's worse than ours. .at least at today's standings . . No one in his right mind say it is over for  ManU. . so why for Chelsea. . ?
This is hopelessly sentimental!!

@Somze,

Firstly, how can you say I think Grant is better than JM? Common man!
Secondly, JM did not start having the serious injuries with Terry and both keepers until his third season and he did not win the premiership in the season. .  and when the injuries came around, we could not compete.
So LPS staying on top of the table now is a big achievement. . and why is it so difficult for us to give him a chance?

@HNIC

Thanks for pointing out that rubbish happened under JM as well. .
