Naomi appears to have receding hairline The supermodel’s barnet revealed a wide parting and a receding hairline, possibly caused by years of wearing hair extensions. Traction alopecia affects those who regularly have extensions or tie or braid their hair tightly. Hair straightening chemicals can make it even worse. Studies show one in seven children and a third of women who have these hairstyles suffer hair loss caused by traction alopecia. Other common hair problems include: 1) DANDRUFF – the rate at which skin cells renew themselves speeds up, so the scalp sheds more dead cells. A fungus called pityrosporum ovale may cause it, but irregular hair brushing can make it worse. Treatment: Anti-fungal shampoo. 2) PATTERN BALDNESS – affects mainly men and is caused by high levels of dihydrotestosterone – a hormone that makes hair follicles shrink – so hair gets thinner, grows less and eventually disappears. Men go bald around the hairline, then the crown. Women tend to lose it from the top of the head. Treatment: Propecia, a pill for men on private prescription, or Regaine, an over-the-counter lotion for both sexes. 3) ALOPECIA AREATA – patches of baldness, caused by a faulty immune system or by stress, fungal infections, thyroid problem and anaemia. Treatment: Regaine may help 4) TRICHOTILLOMANIA – an addiction to pulling out hair, affecting two million women in Britain. Treatment: Cognitive behaviour therapy or anti-depressants may help. To me o it looks like she's wearing a lace front wig that has just been attached in a very wack manner. In fact I'm fairly sure because in the 1st pic, I can see where the lacefront meets her forhead. He hairline seems to be a little far back but nothing out of the ordinary. I think the baldness effect is from someone overplucking her lace front wig to get more of a parting to give a more natural look; I've seen it happen. She obviously needs to consult Beyonce's weavologist. |
