the guy gave his opinion for chris sakes

im sure u didnt even read what he sed

u just dont like the fact the women are here praisin him!!!

KAIII instead of u to take a page for his maturity i quote

All depends if the girl in question's in proportion.

If she's a size 16 - 18, and 5'10", with a clearly defined waistline, hips and upper body, with a fairly flat stomach, then I wouldn't class her as fat.
On the other hand, a girl at size 12 - 14, 5'2", with no defined waistline, a fairly large stomach, big arms and legs could be regarded as fat.

The other factor that hasn't been mentioned here - it depends on who's looking, and who's interested. People view the opposite gender differently.

the senseless can never see sense in sensibility

the guy did not generalise- he cave his candid opinion what he would and wont class as fact

he even added the fact that everyone would be different in what they look for

what is soo impossible in a man thinking this?? many have said the same thing in different words

gosh you boiz need to grow up already!

Thanks, tubabie. smiley The pear/apple shape was what I was trying to refer to when I said height/weight (thus BMI) and "curvature" (haha) will help me make a better judgment.

lol i've never heard where female risk to fat-related diseases is determined by the fruit shapes.  grin The truth is even women who dont appear "fat" physically may be less healthy than muscle-bound females. At the end of the day its the abdominal fat/muscle ratio that counts. On that score i give it to you.

Fixed ! grin

I could just as well say that comparing your comments to those of ohsisi's for example simply proves the wide chasm that exists between real women and the numerous pre-adolescent girls on this forum.

See, gone are the days this type of comment would set me thinking. I've been here long enough to realise it has lost its value since every silly air-head now regurgitates it at the slightest whim. I wont be surprised if you and your ilk start misusing words like "maturity" anytime from now. Its like listening to a broken record. Its only funny because you just look at the caliber of folks making the comments and shake your head in disbelief.

For starters . . . the constant use of irresponsible swear words already diminishes whatever you purport to bring to the table.

Secondly, look at the sentence i highlighted in blue - the guy gave his opinion for chris sakes

Facts to be gleaned:

1. The guy (i.e. siena) gave his opinion.

2. I (davidylan) hence responded to that opinion with my own opinion.

3. NOWHERE is ayettymama involved in both situations. Siena did not indicate he had a problem responding to criticism of his viewpoint neither did i indicate at any point that i was interested in reading your response to my opinion.

bottomline is this - The issue here is NOT siena's statement nor my response . . . the issue here is your own inability to mind your own business. This unfortunately is the hallmark of the undisciplined . . .

Points of correction . . . pretty much for the sake of others not you . . .

1. The claim that my response is due to my "not liking the fact that women (really? I would class your ilk as pre-adolescent girls to be honest) here are praising him" is baseless. Siena makes tons of other comments that garner him "praise" that i rarely bother about. I simply responded to this on the basis that he is medically and FACTUALLY incorrect.

2. Lets define this over-used idea of "maturity". Based on your usage here . . . maturity = saying the things that women want to hear.

There really is no point flogging a dead horse . . . one can spot a malcontent a mile away.

Re: Boys: What Do You Consider As 'fat' For A Girl? by Nobody: 3:43am On Apr 03, 2010
To point out the inaccuracy in Siena's comment . . .

If she's a size 16 - 18, and 5'10", with a clearly defined waistline, hips and upper body, with a fairly flat stomach, then I wouldn't class her as fat.

A lot of folks (who call themselves women by the way) claimed this as their own idea of "maturity". Unfortunately this is completely WRONG. A woman at size 18 needs to be at least 6ft 4 ins to be medically classed as "normal weight".

Too bad you have to spend so much time dealing with the illiterate on these boards.

That shld have been your very first response to what was posted here initially as it never involved you in any way. Thanks for finally taking the right decision . . .

as regards the claim that i am "beefing myself" . . . it seems you have an over-inflated idea of your own self-worth. Tone it down a bit . . . responding to you is basically for the purpose of setting the facts straight, not a measure of your importance.

Where I am from, MEN SEEKS THICK WOMEN (BIG BOOTY, BREASTS, THIGHS, AND LEGS) If a woman has those assets I mentioned above, she is considered THICK, and if a woman is MORBID OBESE then she considered fat.

But, I have noticed that in Africa, if a woman is above a 12 she is considered fat which is shocking because size 12 -18 is average (most women are this size)

We do not use BMI system because each BODY IS DIFFERENT. There is ABSOLUTELY no TWO BODIES ALIKE. If you were to create a size 2 pants. You select five people to try the pants, you will have five DIFFERENT LOOKS. For example, a woman with big hips, big thigh, small hip, small thigh, and ample booty)

BMI was designed to give people an illusion of what they are supposed to be for their height/weight proportion even DOCTORS from where I am, do not use BMI system any more. It proven to be verY INACCURATE.

lol he simply said what you wanted to hear. I dont see the sense in what he said . . . no pun intended.
And then you had to call his post senseless? The guy gave his opinion for heavens sake, calling it senseless was so uncalled for, and at the same time the dude stated it clearly that it depends on who's looking, what you call fat might not be what i call fat medically or not, diff folks wt diff strokes

Seriously david undecided

Re: Boys: What Do You Consider As 'fat' For A Girl? by Nobody: 6:04am On Apr 04, 2010
Siena is right , though I understand where david is coming from, but we aint talking about health issues here,we are not talking about BMi's here, the OP asked a question ,if she wanted a lecture on obesity and body weight she should have asked for it, nobody is talking about scientific proof here or what obesity does to a pregnant woman or expectant mother,no one is talking about what goes wrong with fat people medically, its just a simple question of what boys consider as fat for a gurl, ok even if you wanna disagree do so, without telling the other person that his posts makes no sense

And then comparing people with other users on Nairaland(like comparing someone with osisi), is another no no, if it was done out of a joke fine, but seriously?seriously

Ive said this before, Nairaland does not define a person, nairaland does not make you, some people act like feminists here, some people act like gold diggers that wont settle for any average dude, people post like kids on this forum alot, some people use swear words like under 20's here, but dont be surprised that these pple aint like that outside their key board and computer screen, why do we  take pples posts here seriously and assume that they are something which they might not be`?
Re: Boys: What Do You Consider As 'fat' For A Girl? by Nobody: 10:39am On Apr 04, 2010
Wow! What happened to this thread? Everything's been blown out of proportion.

I can understand David's point, though I was merely answering the original poster's question from a personal / preference view, rather than a medical / scientific one. I'm not qualified to give medical opinions, so I won't do so, kudos to those who have medical backgrounds though.

Jenny, you've said it all in your above post, exactly what I was trying to get across.

BMI measurements should be scraped. Many super fit athletes are classed as obese by that wack measurement. It doesnt take into consideration Muscle mass. Muscle weighs more than fat but is more compact.

Lord have mercy!

600 pounds = 43 stone = 273 kilogrammes.
1000 pounds = 71 stone = 454 kilogrammes.

453 kilogrammes is almost half a metric tonne, about the weight of a small automobile. How can she want to be that heavy?
