Sure I understand it's just that I believe u shld have given Silver a chance to express himself,  same as u just did for ur school.

UI may be the first but the best thats a hard call,  Countries like SA, Botswana, Zimababwe and even Ghana have universities with higher rating internationally.

As a matter of fact I think we shld all come together to find a solution to the wasting away of our institutions of higher learning all over the country rather than haggling over which is the best.

Offcourse there are schools within the Africa region that were rated better than UI,nevertheless it came out 1st in the country,57 in the continent with Great Ife emerging as #69.
As a graduate from UI, I have learned allot and believe me the school is good, especially in its science faculties .I can testify that.
I have enrolled and have taken classes from several colleges and universities in the USA,I don't only make a good student in class but a good tutor as well-that's how I make my money.If not for the potentials God made me to acquire at UI I don't think it would have been possible
Concerning improving the schools in Niger to a world standard level, only God would help us.Although the country has brains in the science field as far as I could perceive,our labs and general facilities are dead and the only physical way I think that is fixable is by fixing the DNA backbone of the country- I mean the politics

In his weekly memo, the Executive Secretary of the commission – Prof Peter Okebukola said that for Administrative/Management Sciences, Pan-African University is ranked first. Likewise, the university came tops in both the ‘Student/Personal Computers ration’ and ‘percentage of foreign staff’.
On the overall basis for Private Universities, Pan-African University can first with 7.63 points followed by Babcock University, Illisan Remo with a distant 20.81 points (lower points stands for higher ranking). Benson Idahosa University, Benin came third with 22.10 points.
On the assessments for all the universities in Nigeria, PAU came second with 7.63 points after University of Ibadan with 5.53 points. University of Lagos came third with 7.80 points while Obafemi Awolowo Univerity,Ile-Ife came forth with 7.95 points.

I think that university education is not about living on past glories but on ur students capability to be good in all areas of life.

LAUTECH though a state university is the best amongst equals, where was UI when LAUTECH professors clicked the best researchers in nigeria, Where was UI when lautech students work with the most experienced people in the world.

Education of yesteryears is different from present day education which is more competitive. UI should be ashamed being the premeir unviresity in the world still with the position 6000 or so inn the world rankings. UI law is not to write home aboutn as thier students are not well aborbed in law school . ( even OOu is far better) all federal universitiues live on past glory

You can not compare LAUTECH with University of Ibadan, for instance, where all the infrastucture more or less are in place and what they need to do is to maintain these facilities. This is still a growing university and because of that we still need much money for development and that is why we are planning for the endowment fund, so that we can put in place what we need for the university to accomplish aims and objectives.

Get it now The facilities in UI are in place and being WELL maintained.

Now, UI is the BEST in the country, i.e ranked 1st, if geojplau, or whatever his freakin name is, knows what hes talkin about!!! If UI is 6000 or so, where is Lautech, stupid! The best Univs in the world are among the oldest: Harvard, Cambridge, Oxford are all over 400 yrs old!!! So, ma man from Lautech, UI is definitely on its way to the top.

UI attracts the best patronage among top class students. Really talented pips dont get to come here, much contrary to their wishes! The classes are few cuz only the best of the best come here. The Only Univs that compare favourably are *SOME* Private Univs, e.g Covenant attracts some brilliant boys, etc.

Do you know how many top-ranking US univs have links with us? The Mac-Arthur foundation, Univ of Penn (An Ivy leaguer - if u know what that means), etc Plus Multinationals that have centres here, e.g Shell, NNPC, Schlumberger, UNESCO, many many many,

By the way, UI is the highest ranked in Africa (52nd or so) among Nigerian Univs. Guy, did you even read Onos post below, If you cant even interprete RAW facts, I fear for you and your school oh!
