no one is even talking about coach Eucharia, I am so proud of her. If to say she never marry I for give am a big kiss. Thank God a woman now coach our female national team and even won a major championship. I was always ashamed watching female coaches beating the butts out of our male coached female teams in the past, now we have arrived. What a progress! Those who appointed Eucharia, una do well oh.

If it was super eagles playing a friendly against some obscure country, it would have been shown live on tv stations across the country. But apparently a tournament of this magnitude is of no importance to NFF. So disappointing angry.

I'm so proud of the Falcons. . .they have done us proud. Coach Uche Eucharia has also proved her mettle.

I hereby advocate that we should let the women handle their affairs. If there are other ex-internationals/ex-falcon players that have taken to coaching, they should be put in charge of the U-17 and the U-20. Where are ex-falcon & 1st generation players like Florence Omagbemi, Nkiru Okosieme et al who were team mates of Coach Uche Eucharia?

What more can I say except it feels good to be a Nigerian today.

Up Falcons! Up Female Football! Up Nigerian Football! Up NFF! Up Nigeria!

I am trying to dig up info about her, but she is CAF female footballer of the century and the first female african coach to win an international event. Florence omagbemi is in the under 20 and ann cheijine is assisting in this falcons team.

Eucharia named Falcons coach

Posted: 2009-11-26 09:54

Former international Uche Eucharia has been confirmed as coach of the Super Falcons, Nigeria's women’s national team.

Uche was handed the job in a caretaker capacity after Nigeria's disastrous African Women Championships under Joseph Ladipo, but was suspended, and then fired by NFF President Sani Lulu this year.

She will be assisted by Bala Nikyu, Gidado Abubakar and Ann Chiejine.

Edat Agat was named coach of the womens' Under-20 national team. Former national team captain Florence Omagbemi, Wemimo Olni Olanrewaju and Christopher Alor will be his assistants.

For the Under-17s, Peter Dedevbo was named Head Coach to be assisted by Justine Madugu, Babatunde Sikiru Odubola and one other 'to be decided in a few days'.

I watched d super falcons 4 EG 2 match on local nigeria station osbc-ndtv satellite station at ibokun, Osun state. The station hooked up to salson presumably in South Africa. My dstv ss9 which was dedicated officially to awc2010 on access/family/compact for n1500/n2500/n4500 did not show it, rather it was put on ss7N cos dstv wanted to market compact plus/premium on n6800/n9500.

Pharoh:

Thanks. . .I'm so happy for the Falcons and Coach Uche Eucharia.

She has a wonderful rapport & relationship with her players. . .did you notice that after their victory over Cameroun and they had celebrated & gone over to the side to greet/thank their fans & supporters, she gathered them at the centre of the pitch for a "praise & worship" session? Nice!

Uche Eucharia has written her name in Gold and I hope in due course, we'd have women in charge of the U-20 & U-17 team and not just as Assistant Coaches. The USA & Germany, top female football playing Nations came to the last U-20 Women World cup with Female coaches. . .I'd like to see the same in Nigeria too.

Although Perpetua Nkwocha (34 yrs) has mentioned this is her last AWC, I think she still has one more AWC in her. . .she has a great slim physique and can still play in the 2012 edition. I'm glad she's mentioned she'll like to get involved in Coaching though. She should head over to coaching school when she finally hangs up her boots to get her coaching certificates.

NFF also has to take the female league more seriously, market it and get sponsorship for it. Since Pepsi dropped it's sponsorship of the Female league, the league has been without a sponspor. . .The female clubs like Delta Queens, Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angel and others must not be allowed to die like the pioneer female clubs like Ufuoma babes, Jegede Babes et al. . . Also Secondary Schools should be encouraged to have female football teams. We can't just rest on our oars cos the rest of Africa is closing up on us fast.

CAF also has to a role to play. I went to their website today and the impression I got was the AWC was one inconsequential competition. No live minute by minute commentaries, no videos etc. I didn't see Issa Hayatou even once during this competition (at least all our matches I watched). Most African countries have a league so CAF should organise a Women Champions League for the clubs.

Finally, after all said and said. . .I hope GEJ rewards the girls with more than handshake & scholarship offers cos the truth is most of these girls have forgone school to play football and besides," for Naija, rich man pikin nor dey play ball". LOL, I still recall Pelican Stars of Calabar used to be the dominant female football club in the Early 2000's and how a "certain man" came on board as governor of Cross-Rivers state and said he didn't recognise female football and told the players to go and get married. Na so Pelican Stars take die be that!. . .Pathetic!

Before I leave, let me just say the disparity between the Male & female team in terms of match bonuses is just too much. A few days ago, I was reading a news story online and the NFF was saying to the Falcons "Beat Cameroun and get $1500 Each". . .when Super Eagles dey collect $5000 even when dem lose? embarassed  E nor pure at all.  . . . . . .Haba!
