Some factors which doesn't cause acne at least on their own
these includes;
-heredity
-food: pizza, chocolate, greasy and fried foods, and junk food;while these foods may not be good for overall health, they don't cause acne or make it worse.Although, some recent studies have implicated milk and diary products in aggravating acne.
-Dirt: sweat does not cause acne.on the other hand, excessive washing can dry and irritate the skin
-Stress: This however does not play much of a direct role in causing acne.
-cosmetics: most cosmetics and skin care products are not pore clogging.of the many available brands, those which are listed as 'water-based' or 'oil-free' are generally the best choice.
-Hormones; unless a woman has abnormal menstrual periods and excessive hair growth,it is unlikely that hormones play much role in causing acne.

am a living example of pustules(pimples).at least now i know that all these talks about groundnut/peanut and so on causing pimple is false!
and i just learnt that cow's milk is associated with worsening acne!
i have being battling with this for years now, plz if you know any genuine method or solution,i would love to know.

Hmmm, there are some soaps that I know of that help to either lessen or eliminate acne. If you are near a place that sells Indian goods, try and see if you can find these soaps Chandrika Ayurvedic Soap and Medimix Ayurvedic Soap. These two soaps work wonders on the skin--even if you don't have acne.

Oh and by the way, for some people eggs can contribute to acne as well.

Sorry but I don't know where you can buy it nor do I sell it in Nigeria. I buy it from an Indian store here in New York. That's why I suggested that if you know of a place that sells Indian goods or products you could buy it from there. If you know someone who is Indian or travels to India frequently perhaps you could ask them to buy either or both of the soaps for you. If you do find someone who sells it, do no let them con you into trying to pay a lot of money for it because the soap is relatively cheap. Both soaps work very well, but Medimix seems to work the best.

I think if you buy it online it might cost more. The website for the store is http://indousplaza.com/?osCsid=a929dfe4ca4871a0b0164fa7e2bd9942 . At the moment, I think they may be making some changes to the layout of the website because when I looked up the soap in the search box on the site, nothing showed up. You may have some luck buying it on Amazon. Here's a link to the Amazon site to buy the Medimix Ayurvedic Soap >>> http://www.amazon.com/Medimix-Real-Ayurvedic-Soap-Herbs/dp/B001B62QJ0/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1292096261&sr=8-4 . For the Chandricka Ayurvedic Soap you can try buying it at this website >>> http://www.vitacost.com/productResults.aspx?ss=1&Ntk=products&x=0&y=0&Ntt=Chandrika or you also buy one bar of soap at Amazon for $0.75, here's the Amazon link >>> http://www.amazon.com/Chandrika-Soap-bar-Soaps/dp/B0007DGN1A/ref=sr_1_29?ie=UTF8&qid=1292097683&sr=8-29. Both the price shown on Amazon and Vitacost website seems to be very reasonable. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask and I'll be sure to answer them.

Oh and also, the Vitacost website shows the price of the Chandrika Ayurvedic Soap in case you want to buy it in a pack of 3 rather just one.

No problem wink. Hmmm, I have no idea if it would be delivered to Lagos since I've never ordered my soaps online. Each time I buy the soap it is directly from the store. You could try e-mailing them so you could ask them if they ship to Nigeria. If they say no, you still have the option of ordering from Amazon. On the link that I sent you, there is a page that sells the soap for 3 in a pack. Lemme know how things go or if you need more help.

Re: Fallacy About Acne(pimples) by InkedNerd(f): 6:41pm On Dec 12, 2010

Re: Fallacy About Acne(pimples) by nike4luv(f): 10:23pm On Dec 12, 2010
I would see a doctor, they have different creams for acne and they are superb, they prescribe the best type to use based on your skin condition so you might not be necessarily using what someone else is using. Im using 'duac' once daily gel and even after my acne days, i still stick to it. so definitely see a doctor smiley

nike4luv is right, you should probably see a doctor. I have a friend who uses Clindoxl and Isotrex and it worked wonders on her skin. Timi1990, try asking your doctor about those two medications. Hopefully, those medications can help with your acne.

Eh ya, sorry to hear that. Have you tried to changing your diet? For example, I noticed that if I eat food that has a lot of dairy or eggs, I break out a bit. It usually clears up though in about two days. Have you tried rubbing fresh lemons, apple cider vinegar, or garlic on your acne? FYI, it may sting a bit if you try it. Here's a link for some info >>> http://www.ayurvediccure.com/articles/acne_cure.htm and www.acne.org/ . What methods have you tried / used in order to try and get rid of your pimples?

the most effective acne remedies are antibiotics but not all antibiotics will help. it has to be prescribed by a doctor, nurse or dermatologist. I started off with erythromycin and now duac! Note- the medication may cause your skin tone to change

Eh ya. Sorry cry

If/when you get the address of this place, if you can, make sure you buy both soaps so you can see which one works better. If you can't purchase both, then purchase the Medimix one if it is available. It may not smell as nice as Chandrika but it definitely works better. Keep us posted on what happens kiss.
