Ujujoan I have taken my time to go through u'r post. Gov. Obi may not be a saint but He have done well as Governor of Anambra state. The road network is wonderful can you tell a town in Anambra state that don't have access road, the upgrade of school now a lot government school can boast of computer lab, portable water and good learning environment, Upgrade  of General Hospitals. Development of a state is not an easy task. This is a state that have nothing to show. I must equally commend Ngige because he started the good work. And as a Governor he worked well in Onitsha and Anambra Central and that was why he is able to win Prof Dora and not because Gov. Obi is not performing. I'm working in Onitsha and I'm from the state

You live in Onitsha and still think Anambra has access roads     shocked  shocked

You reaaaaaaly need to get out more.

I was driving from Awka to Benin during the Easter and immediately I crossed the head bridge, I cursed Obi! The road from Awka to Onitsha is horrrrrible. Infact if you manage to escape the death traps along Enugu/Onitsha expressway, you'll be stuck in traffic from Nkopr to head bridge . . .  just because of the bad road!

Immediately you cross into Asaba, you'll think you are in a different country . . .  even the air feels different!

Go to Enugu and see what Chime has done with the roads . . .  Every corner of Enugu is accessible by road. Even the road to my office here in Government House is bad!

Onitsha is a dead area. Driving in Onitsha is like signing a death wish . . . .  potholes everywhere!

What schools are you talking about that have been supplied with computers? Have you visited these schools Guess what, I have! Obi made a business transactions with those computers. Imagine supplying computers to schools without electricity or even roofs! Most of these computers are still in their cartons or in the Principals' house. I'll get you pictures of some secondary schools in Anambra and you'll weep for them! Computers my foot.

What 'water' are you talking about? The BHs constructed with the first MDG funds? 99.9 % of them are not functional. I've done a survey and I know that for a fact. Most of the contractors did shoddy jobs because the government officials who were supposed to monitor these projects collected 'brown envelopes' and looked the other way!

As for the MDG water schemes being constructed in communities presently, well, we just have to wait and see how that turns out . . . .  undecided

Development of a state is not an easy task abi? How come it took Chime less than 4 years to achieve what Obi has failed to achieve in 5years!

What Ngige did in less time still speaks for him till date. Posterity will judge Obi. He rigged himself back into government last year and he'll pay for that one day!

You have to understand that I don't post based on hearsay. I work with the government in Anambra. My office is right inside the government house. I see the way things are run here and I think Obi is a huge fraud!

Good job,

Your comment about Rotimi Amachei is correct. This guy has done tremendously well for his people. The best thing that ever happen to Rivers people in last twent-five years. Rivers state  has best public school in Nigeria nay Africa compared only to school in United State- (No exagerration), so also primary health care center. Free texbook, free school uniform and shoes for the pupils. Elementary school has basketball court, standard football field with Tartan track. Two hundred and fifty  of such high grade school has  been commisioned, while he promised to build another two hundred and fifty schools in next four years.

My prediction is that in ten years time, Rivers state will move from Education less advatage state to dominate all universities in South east and South-south region

Quantity and quaity of roads network is unbielevable.

My prayer and hope is that he will not drop the standard in his second term in office.
This guy philosophy is social welfarism, which is distinct from Fashola capitlist-welfarism. Both of them are the stars of the Nigeria democracy. Two goods guys with different approach to solve infrastructure rot in Nigeria. My only worry is  what Rotimi Amachei is doing in PDP?

Well your philosophy will change depending on the kind of money you have, Rivers is getting huge money coming in for a couple of million people, Lagos is making its own money to provide for infrastructure

Rivers should be able to pay its civil servants 30,000 minimum wage even

Saudi arabia can afford to pay its citizen monthly wages without working, Scotland cannot

what he is doing in PDP?
where do you want him to go?
it is not like he is a saint.
while he and his team are working, his cabinet members are also amassing wealth like crazy.
They seem to have bought up most of the factories in Trans Amadi.
At least he is a huge improvement on Odili.
That one seem to thrive on sycophancy and delusion.
Those who are making so much noise about education should take a look at the Odilis.
He and his wife were as educated as they come and accomplished in their careers.
Yet governance couldn't be worse.
That family was a curse sent from hell to Rivers State.

Seems Peter Obi has been a failure.

This brings me to the issue of educational qualifications in Nigeria. Looking at all the state governors most of them have 2 degrees and some even in public administration or public policy . However all this degree have translated into nothing except misery for their state indigenes.

Ameachi only has a bachelors and one from Nigeria, same goes to Fashola with one degree and from Nigeria but their perfomance speaks volume of their intellect. It is hight time we stop looking at fancy foreign degrees as a yardstick of expected perfomance. Degrees dont mean anything when the inherent greed in our politicans overcome their intellect.

Slow it a bit.

I kind of agree with you that degree (and a box load of them) is not the panacea to good governance.

That said, it helps immensely. Most of these degree holders that fail, fail due to the quality of working environment they were immensed in for most of their lives in Nigeria and also lack of innate personal qualities.

On average, someone with a good degree from abroad that has worked in sane environments in sane countries will be more productive than ON AVERAGE someone in Nigeria that has not been exposed to best practice. The advantage the home-based has in terms of performance is local knowledge and that counts.

explain the misery called Odili.
With medical degree from Nsukka (when it was very good) and a first lady who is a an appeal court judge,he practiced in the state and his wife has risen to the top of her legal career.
Did they not have enough local knowledge?
