Looks like what Arsene will play barring injuries. I wish there's a way we can play RVP in a more withdrawn role. Il expect Gervinho and Walcott to make plenty movements in front of him like they've been doing.
I predict a draw or an outright win for Arsenal. I don't see Udinese winning this (unless ofcourse someone gets a red card again).

udinese 3-1 arsenal.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread (for Arsenal Fans) by dayokanu(m): 12:30pm On Aug 24, 2011
Are we going to see another red card today? Hopefully we do and to Sczezny who would concede a 20th min penalty and a red card to go with it

arsenal fans should be hoping for a loss.
granted, arsenal's season would be tacky but it's been like that for 6 seasons. . . .but this would actually make wenger and the arsenal board sit up and do the necessary changes to completely overhaul the team.

an arsenal victory would paper the cracks like it has been since 2005.
gaynners should open their eyes and think of the long term not the instant orgasmic feeling they would get by beating udinese.
beating udinese or not, arsenal have regressed massively. . . . .

Hoping for a loss? God forbid. A loss won't do us any good. Dropping out of the CL doesnt mean we will play less number of matches as there's still the Europa league to navigate. I'm not sure why anyone (asides ManU fans ofcourse) will wish we lose to Udinese.

Arsenal will qualify.

the goal is not about reducing the number of matches. . . . .the goal is to make the board sit tight and realize the standards have dropped considerably. all these years, the board can't be bothered about re-investing in the team cos wenger kept getting arsenal to the knock-out phases in elite europe. the board are happy with that and they keep the proceeds. . . .which is working against arsenal in the grand scheme of things. . .

getting eliminated tonight would trigger an outcry. . .
the board would then release the funds that would make arsenal stay in the top four this season to automatically qualify for the next champions league and with the quality squad this year, arsenal can then make a proper challenge for the league title from 2012 upwards.
failing that, your trophyless season run would hit 20.

If we are to believe everything Arsene says, then available money to spend has never been his problem. And over the past few months, he has repeated it over and over again.
I don't think dropping out of the CL at this stage will change anything. AW himself has said he is 'looking to bring in players no matter what happens tonight'. If I am allowed, Il add that, dropping out tonight won't make him change his mind on bringing in a player if he had no intention in the first place. I think after the last 6 years, we know that much about our manager. Moreover, its just 7 days to the close of market.

Asides the departures of Cesc and Nasri, there's not much difference this year from other years. Infact, we've brought in more 'first team' players this year compared to recent years. The quality of these players may be debatable but at least we've brought them in. One or two more 'super quality' additions to replace the lost players will take us back to where we were before i.e. a top 4 side  grin capable of topping the table till February  grin

side joke: even if we drop out, Arsene will tell us playing in the Europa league isn't a disaster. grin grin

Excellent points. This was what Proudly was telling Debo and co yesterday and they were on riot.

At this stage Arsenal needs a jolt and missing out of Europe completely would do it.

Most clubs have had something similar.

Man Utd in 2005/2006 crashed out of group stage last. That was probably what jolted Fergir and he knew Europe has changed. Gone were the days you would depend on Liam Miller, Barry Ferguson, Darren Fletcher Wes Brown etc.

He went for broke immediately copping Tevez, Hargreaves, Nani, Anderson and other multi million Dollar signings, Gone were the days you can do something in Europe without signing big.

Similar thing happened to Bayern we thought we could patch things up until we were 4th in the Bl and crashed to Europe, It was that incident that led to dumping our average signings and hoping they turn to gold like  Ali Karimi, Jan Schlaudraff, Vahid Hashemian, Tobias Rau, Roque Santa Cruz, Valerien Ishmael for  marquee signings like Ribery, Lucatoni, Klose later Robben, Gomez, Neuer.

Barcelona too bumped things up after many seasons in doldrums signing many duds like Rochemback, Christanvaal, Quaresma, Sonny Anderson, Giovanni, Okunowo, The Dutch brigade(Reiziger, Kluivert, Bogarde Cocu, etc)

Doing things the same way and hoping somehow miraculously clubs in Europe would go broke or all would have a major disaster to enable Arsenal win wont happen

Even if strict FFP comes into play, Clubs like Barcelona, Man Utd, Bayern, even Porto are better placed than Arsenal

Something has to change at EMirate and best case COACH has to change

the so called ffp is bullshyte. . . .
big clubs will get around it and still spend money.
if platini blocks them, it will be a perfect excuse for the big clubs to form the super league they have always wanted to do.

take the highest spenders)real madrid, barcelona, man utd, chelsea, bayern, etc) out of the champions league and uefa would be as broke as nigerian football federation. uefa need the big clubs, not vice versa.
camp nou's name can be sold to the qataris which would fetch hundreds of millions to barcelona. . . .same as the bernebau or old trafford. big clubs will continue to spend regardless of the ffp.

To be honest, Im not putting any hope on the FFP thingy. People always have a way to go round such rules. I am sure the clubs are currently brainstorming on a way out. I don't know why dudu believes so much in this law.

the lawyers are reading the scripts carefully now, looking for loopholes.
so many ways to play around it and continue the spending spree.

if the owner of man city buys 50 million man city shirts @ £20 pounds per shirt through a 3rd party. . . . .how would uefa know who paid what? city would have banked the money and all of a sudden, city's account is doped up by £1 billion which they would use to buy more players.

another example is city wants to buy messi. messi's wages is 300k per week.
city pull messi's agents aside and work it out to pose for the camera and say they are paying messi 50k per week. . . . .then employ messi's parents/relatives at the etihad stadium and pay them £250k per week. . . . . .how would uefa know who has paid what?

ffp is bullshyte. . . . . . .it's just a hoax for platini to continue to stay as uefa president.

I am saying even in the best case scenario for Arsenal even if Mao Tse Sung becomes UEFA president, FFP is about developing more youths? Barcelona, Man Utd Bayern, Porto, Lyon do better than Arsenal

Spending what you EARN without Sugardaddies? Bayern, barcelona, man Utd, Madrid, AC Milan, and many clubs earn much more than Arsenal, Have a larger fan base, have bigger stadiums, have better appeal to sponsors, Unless WenGAY starts money rituals or child trafikking, so They lose again.

Putting a cap on foreign players, Arsenal and Inter loses more than any club in Europe

So whats the content of this FFP that gives GAYYners any hope self unless they are just behaving like illiterates they are.

And like you said if the FFP doesnt make sense, The era of G14 clubs come back. I wonder what Platini would be high on to tell Txiki Berigistan, Beckenbauer, Fiorentino Perez, Adriano Galliani, Ferguson, or Rummenigge not to sign the next  superstar to their clubs.

They would impeach Platini via text message

ffp is mumuface's last resort. . . . . .he believes with ffp, arsenal will suddenly become great.
they have the wackest set of english players in their squad. . . . . .they don't make enough money as man utd. . . . . .they have no sugar daddy.
besides ffp would only rule clubs must spend what they earn. . . . . .the owner of man city will be stopped give city £20m to dope their accounts, but he can build 5 stadia for man city. . . . .so plenty of loopholes in the ridiculous ffp.

European clubs will break away from Fifa and Uefa and create their own super league unless the world governing body urgently addresses their growing concerns over international fixtures and finances. It would be the most radical development in the history of football since the first World Cup in 1930, ripping up the established world order of the game and seizing power from Sepp Blatter, Fifa's president.

The Guardian can reveal the background to Karl-Heinz Rummenigge's comments on Tuesday about a "revolution" for football: a European super league that would see the clubs seize control of their own affairs from the regulators.

There goes Duduspace hopes that Arsenal would become a big club.

Crashing out of CL in 2008 caused Bayern a momentary harm but long term good

Missing out of CL in 2003 caused barcelona a momentary harm but long term good

Losing £25m in a time where urgent strengthening of the squad is required via purchases will cause untold damage, not only to current earnings but future earning potential.

A loss in the CL could lead to a dangerous downward spiral - that is an unacceptable outcome for Arsenal FC.
