You cannot but trace this madness to pdp, even though other party members benefited. Pdp has been in charge of the country's administration since we returned to democracy 1999. They initiated and approved this madness and it will continue until we kick them out  angry

My annoyance is that why should some one like Deno malaye be making noise as is if he is innocent.
Since all the house members benefited from the 10b, EFCC should go arrest all of them.
The rate of injustice in this country is increasing day by day.
Lets be honest with ourselves.Am not exonerating Bankole but at least everyone who participated in the sharing of the 10b should be brought to book including the just elected speaker and iyabo obasanjo.
They are all thieves !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chief Alani Bankole, an Egba High Chief has said he was not worried about the arrest of his son because he was sure that at the end of the day, the embattled former speaker would not be indicted.

“I trust my son. He will not be indicted. You can quote me as saying so.”
“I am in touch and I know he was arrested yesterday. I am in touch with him. As his father, I know my son will not be indicted. That is all I can tell you now,” he told Daily Sun yesterday.
A close political associate of Dimeji who pleaded anonymity yesterday decried the tendency of the Nigerian press to be sensational in order to sell papers.

“ How can the papers say that he resisted arrest? Can anybody resist arrest? I know he has security comprising the police, State Security Service (SSS) and sometimes the army. But that is not enough to conclude that he resisted arrest.

“ Ask those who reported that he resisted arrest if the EFCC agents that went to his house saw him personally. The truth is that they were at the gate and they met and discussed with Dimeji's security men. What some papers did is what I call rabble-rousing. It is sensationalism.”

“Whatever we may say now is speculative until the EFCC comes out with what it wants Dimeji to defend. What we heard is that there are allegations leveled against him on the N10 b loan secured by the House. The truth is that members were to collect N28million each and it later turned to N42 million. There is no way the House can raise such amount of money before the President signs the budget.
“But before the budget was signed, the House decided to secure the loan. The President has signed the budget and members have collected their money last Friday and Saturday. They all smiled home. What noise are some people making? Why should Dimeji be afraid to face the EFFC?” he asked.

According to the source, there is also the allegation that his father, a respected Egba High Chief used part of the money to by NECOM House. He said: “This is a property bought by the family in 1998. It was bought with bank loan. The paper transaction has not been completed. At the right time, the truth will come out. Political associates of Dimeji are confident that he will in no time be asked to go home because all the EFCC needs is explanation from the former speaker.” [/b]

this egba land has in the past produced high powered criminals(names withheld). up the yorubas. like father, like son.

I understand that he used the money to finance his re-election campaign and that of one Rukayatu a divorcee politician in whose bossom he finds occassional comfort ,even thou she is older than he is; with the hope of winning and being re elected speaker so he could sweep it under the carpet like the innitial allegation.Unfortunately both he and Rukaya lost the election.Believe it or not if he was still the speaker this case wouldn,t have seen the light of the day.Lai lai !!

He could have given out scholarships but he didn't,he cld have fixed dilapidated infrastructures but he didnt,he could have at least acted like Robin Hood to get the backing of the masses but he chose to spend on his numerous concubines while the masses live on a less than a dollar a day.If Bankole is set free then the Nigerian System has no moral right to jail the ordinary man who steals 100 naira on the street just to save his dying hungry child.

I need more explanation from the whoever released the analysis on why or how #5billion loan became #10billion in less than 6months which means 100% interest rate in every 6 months. Melaye and co may also benefit from the largeese, but for now, there is no money in the House to pay their arrears not to even talk of the increments. And for those who take pleasure in pointing accusing fingers at Yoruba, let me give you what to expect for the next 4 years. The current speaker was the Deputy Chief Whip under Bank-Ole while the current deputy speaker was the Chief Whip under him. They were part of House leadership that gave Bank-Ole go ahead.

Does anyone realize that Nigerian youths are gradually turning to talkative and silent complainants over the way the country has been run by criminals in the guise of leaders?

Could it be that the so called leaders cast some form of spell on the youths and then sit back, relax and smile at their ever-growing stolen wealth at the expense of the wealth of the nation?

Brothers and sisters, is it not time to defy all odds and really do something instead of mere expression of how bad we feel over the situation? Someone may ask me what I have done myself, but a pool of workable ideas is better than one man's thoughts. Please what do we do?

I still do not understand why our law makers should earn this much on a quarterly bases. Can someone pls tell me what the money is really meant for? Nigeria cant afford to pay 18,000 minimum wage, but can easily pay this whooping sum to the law makers. This sums it up, Nigeria is a failed state, take it or leave it.

Bankole received 100 million quarterly. Four quarters in any fiscal year. He was speaker for say 3 fiscal years since Ette was before him. Hence, he received 3*4*100M = 1.2Billion, I think Forbes Mag shld create a list of most expensive parliaments in the world. It will be hard to top this not even in the US and/or UK, Dats why election is do or die affair. It is abt time to cap their salaries and wages,

You now can see why Nigerian democrazy is kill and bury.
You can see why they love and sing one Nigeria like birds. The cost of running Nigerian two legislative houses, their presidency, 36 governoship mansions/36 houses of assemblies suppases many nation's GDP.
