I have been moved by the honest plea of some forum members who are having one or two issues with getting acquainted with some of the forum navigation.

Some of these people are willing to learn without hiding under ignorance or pride, also revealing their enthusiasm in doing so.

I have thought upon my self to provide some help to the best of my ability, even though im still learning as well. Im sure with the help of other knowledgeable members, the burden might be reduced on the Mods and admin with having to combine moderating job with tutorials.

I have brought out some of the posts of willing members below for the perusal of others.

My dear it depends entirely on what u mean. If u mean to remove an attachment, then u click on the modify button after u had posted, u can then modify ur post before resubmitting same

Posting a video

The first step involves u getting your video uploaded on you tube cos u cant upload a video through nairaland


First u need to go to youtube, search for your desired video, once you get it u can click on it and whilst same is streaming, u can copy the link and do the following things

Now i went to you tube and i searched for FC Bayern vs. Hoffenheim 4:0

It brought out the page and all i did was to copy the address directly like this

Next step is to edit for your video to get uploaded on Nairaland.

You would add some things and remove somethings from the address u just copied.

1) Click on the icon directly on top of 'smiley' it would bring out the below flash link

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBvCCmKKVXc (remove 'watch?' then remove '=' and replace with '/')


After doing that, u will have this http://www.youtube.com/v/UBvCCmKKVXc

Later u add this to your new link '?fs=1&hl=en' to form a new complete link i.e




https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBvCCmKKVXc?fs=1&hl=en Once u have done this, u are almost there.

3) copy the address/link u have edited/modified into the flash like this

4 ) the outcome will be the video. see below [flash=200,200]

you can equally increase the side of ur video screen.
Here's it.

The standard Nairaland flash is [/flash=200,200]/[flash, ] 200 by 200. Meaning the horizontal and vertical length are equal.

The first number is for the horizontal screen, whilst the other is for the vertical screen

i would increase the video side to 800 by 510. I would just insert the numbers into the flash [, flash=800,510, ] to form

Puttuing Images inside/within a post.


A lot of people still find this difficult to do. When they want to add an image to there post, they simply attach which might not be necessary.

Heres a way from another NL

Right Click on the smiley/picture.
Click on copy image location/address/shortcut (This differs. Depends on your web browser)
Post the link here. Like this

Highlight it and click on the image sign <<<< That sign.

madam sorry for the late response. Its same way you post image.


First go to this site http://www.gifbin.com/ or any other sit where u can get gifs.

Scroll to the picture or gif u want. Right click on it with ur mouse. It would bring out a dialogue small box that will show different options. You only need to click on 'copy image location'

Once that is done, come back to nairaland and click on reply post.

On the page, click on the icon on top of thiswhich is this.

Once u do that u would see this [//img][/img] what u have copied from the gif site would be inserted in here [//img][/img]

eg put this http://www.gifbin.com/bin/092011/1315301610_biker_dodges_otter_on_the_racing_track.gif inside the [//img][/img]

For those using their mobile browsers on some symbian OS phones to browse nairaland, Some of u might not have the full browsing experience. i.e being able to quote, view who's online, view others' signature/latest posts. etc.

Your best option is to download operamini.

Depending on your phone model/manufacturer.

You can download opera mini

from 3, 3.2, 4.3, 5 and 6.


Just visit m.operamin.com and select your phone model. You would be directed accordingly on which of the opera that would work on your phone

First and foremost. Why do u want to delete ur account? Are the posts u want to remove faulty?

On every of ur posts u dont like, u can modify/edit it from being viewed by people provided its not been quoted.

This is it. On ur post, u would see something like this [img]https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?action-post;msg=9152538;topic=753943.0;sesc=b6f4fefcf3ce393306739f41fb71c9b0[/img] click on it and earse or modify the post(s) by just putting a dot i.e , Afterwards, u can then click on submit.

i wouldn't support handler version cos it encourages cheat. the non editable from opera mini website is the preferable
