I CAN ACCESS EVERY WEBSITES, BUT I RECIEVE THE FOLLOWING ERROR WHILE ACCESSING YAHOO " Web Acceleration Client Error (515.2) - Upstream TCP Connection Establishment Timeout" THIS HAS TURNED THE INTEREST OF ALL CUSTOMERS DOWN IN MY CAFE, I HAVE COMPLAINED MANY TIMES WITH DOPC AND THEY HAVE FOUND NOTHING DONE TO IT, THEY ONLY ASK TO BUY ANOTHER IP, STILL YET THIS PROBLEM STILL OCCURS, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS BAD AS HELL, NO RESPONSE AND NO CARE, VERY RISKY TO RELY ON DOPC CONNECTION. I AM GOING FOR GILAT OR LINKSERVE. IS THERE ANYONE USING DOPC THAT HAS SAME PROBLEM? PLEASE NAIRALANDER, I NEED ADVICE AND WHAT TO DO.

Ma office uses Unwired by DOPC, and the connection is tight!
I download extremly large files in a day. Yahoo! Opens well except GMAIL . .
I wonder what the problem is. . .

Although, it dosnt time out - have u tried pinging yahoo!

Fire up Command prompt and type "ping www.yahoo.com -t"
This will ping Yahoo till u're done!

I have been adviced to go on GILAT and I have seen many DOPC subscribers now diverted to KKON and SOA VSAT. I think DOPC has put almost all their HNS7000 VSAT customers on 1 IP which drags Yahoo! due to many access through 1 I.P, like 1000 people trying to access Yahoo! on 1 connection, ofcourse their would be Client Error. I have made enquiry for a better VSAT and I will be installing end of this month.

Since virtually all isp in NIGERIA are not customer friendly, pleaseadvice me on which broadband isp to use in a cafe of 8 system in my Badagry country home/village. Nairalandiers please am at your mercy

well it depend on how the ISP progremme their stuff, i have a cafe of abt 17 systems.we use 64kw broadband and it's ok interms of fastness you can't believe i have been using it for the past 5 years with out any problem,the name is COMMUNICATIONS TRENDS NIGERIA LIMITED

a bit of info for people facing yahoo problem- problem of not accessing Yahoo has nothing to do with ISP. This problem is generally faced by cyber cafes in all parts of the world. What happens is if any of the visitor in cyber cafe is sending spam mails; yahoo will blacklist the IP. So, then, nobody from the same IP will be able to access Yahoo. Same will happen in case of Gmail or any other reputed email service. Anybody facing this problem can call his ISP to get his IP removed from blacklist of Yahoo or Gmail. CAUTION: If you dont take due care to stop spamming from the cafe; your IP will get blocked again & chances of opening it again will be lesser.

I had a similar problem which got resolved by removing viruses from my computer. My understanding is the error indicates that the downlink bandwidth is congested. A DOPC engineer deleted viruses from my computer and the problem was resolved.  You could write to them on info@directonpc.com to reach them.

Infact you are not alone, my friend if you want to continue in your business , please , please please, get out of dopc, else they will ruin your life , they duped me of 325,000 naira, without reason i subscribed for three months and they shut me down in 8 days , without refunding one naira, brother they are just a group of fraudulent indians ganging up to dupe nigerians am sorry to say but its the truth, please get yourslf another isp before they run away with your money, please!

Where ever you run to makes no difference. I advice you stay with the one you know and understand them than to keep waisting ur hard erned money buying new hardware each time you change. You are still going to face another dimension of problems. Note, I am not speaking or working for them.

Can this guy tell us what day and time he wrote to DOPC and they replied? Stop talking shit. They dont reply your mails and even if you call them you will only end up wasting your hard earned money and precious time.

yea I have the same issue with u...d same subscription....d same web display but mine is worse because I cannot browse at all ...It seems as though if one is not in PH , Abuja or Lagos one may not be able to get good service from them....they have visited my site but d problem persists...I though private org give better services that Gov establishments; their service sounds like Gov services...

Internet access is improving in Nigeria now. From experience, KU - Band VSAT has poor quality of service when compared to C-band vsat due to environmental (weather) and other factors. Also, the operators are not sincere on contention ratio and technical/financial issues with their Tier 1 provider and problems from their own NOC. NCC should assist with fiber penetration in all the local governments in Nigeria especially with USPF money. Last mile connection of fiber through radio to customers premise is the best. There is no any explanation any user or staff of DOPC can give to cafe operators in 2013 about the performance of DOPC KU-Band VSAT is tenable. In Lagos, DOPC outdoor radio installation is working perfectly. Also, the wimax has improved since their alliance with SWFT.

I will advice anybody in states or local government where there are 3G services or visafone or any other cdma internet services to subscribe to them for now. They can combine two services (operators) together using 3G/4G routers and Load Balance routers.
