Crime / Group Cries Out Over Plan To Invade NEMA, Set Agency On Fire by NigerianTabloid: 1:19pm On Jul 11, 2018
The Coalition For Truth and Justice (CfT&J), a conglomeration of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Nigeria has cried out over a plot by some persons to invade the Abuja headquarters of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the guise of protests.

CfT&J claimed that plans have been concluded some persons parading themselves as contractors of the agency in collusion with some criminal gangs to stage protests to NEMA office over claims of failure of the agency to honour their pending requests for contracts payments they purportedly executed with NEMA.

Barrister Timothy Charles, National Co-ordinator of CfT&J in a statement issued on Tuesday, noted that the protesters are aimed at blackmailing and arm-twisting the current leadership of NEMA led by the Director-General, Engr. Mustapha Maihaja into honoring fake contractual obligations, inflated payment vouchers or making bogus payments on frivolous claims by contractors without recourse to due process or laid down procedures.

According to Charles, “the CSOs have it on good authority that the decision of the so-called contractors to embark on this shameful, unlawful act and blackmail of the DG NEMA, Engr. Mustapha is spurred by the desire of these elements to sustain the culture and habit of extracting fake payments for bogus or claims for non-existent contracts as done in the past .

“We have reliably gathered that it has been the tradition under the past administration of the ex-DG NEMA, Mr. Mohammed Sani Sidi, which was famed for payments of such questionable contracts, currently under investigation by the EFCC.

“Nigerians should recall that the EFCC is investigating various layers of sleaze perpetrated under the former administration of Mr. Sidi Sani. And the sum of N2.5 billion has been established by the preliminary report of the EFCC as embezzled, which report was submitted to the Governor Board of NEMA.

“The fraud which was allegedly committed by the former DG NEMA, six directors and other subordinate staff is still under investigation by the anti-graft agency.

“And the tentative report suggests that the EFCC is querying alleged diversion of foods and relief materials for IDPs; the use of fake companies and weigh bills to secure NEMA contracts by some directors; the incorporation of multiple personal companies by some directors to secure the agency’s contracts; fake vouchers for delivery of relief materials to non-existent IDP camps among others.

“These are grave financial improprieties and crimes, which are offensive to extant financial laws of Nigeria. It mainly violates and abuses the due process and accountability. It is also a taint on anti-corruption stand of the administration of President Muhammedu Buhari as represented in NEMA by Engr. Maihaja.”

The statement further revealed that the planned deployment of intimidation and arm-twisting tactics by these undertaker contractors to extract payments for doubtful contractual claims, adjudged fraudulent and currently under the searchlight of the EFCC is untenable and unjusticeable.

He added, “It is further confirmation of the sophisticated web , both within and outside the agency, which have drained NEMA of mindboggling sums of money over unverified and fraudulent contractual obligations.

“We perceive it as the continuation of the various subterranean schemes by the tentatively indicted former and serving officials of the agency, including directors who allegedly perpetrated the frauds under the Sidi Sani leadership to further subvert the cause of justice.

“We strongly object to any attempt by the current NEMA management to honour any of the pending contractual obligations with payments, until the EFCC concludes its investigations and certify genuinely contracts and payments which do not contravene the law before payment is effected.

“But in the interim, the CSOs will not hesitate to halt any activity by these contractors in connivance with some criminal elements designed to sabotage NEMA. We shall further expose them and the criminal records of their backers, if these suspicious elements do not desist from such an inglorious adventure.

“It is completely needless to seek to overheat the polity in order to benefit illegally and enrich themselves with bogus claims of contracts with public funds. Commonsense should have alerted these so-called contractors of the impracticability of demanding payments for contracts alleged as fraudulent and under the scrutiny of the anti-graft agency.

“The contractors with genuine and reasonable claims to any executed contract with the agency should be patient enough to wait for the outcome of EFCC investigations or after the appropriate scrutiny in the best interest of the country.

“Indeed, information at the disposal of the CSOs indicates that the planned protests by the contractors is a decoy to gain illegal access into the premises of the agency to set the NEMA office, Abuja, on fire. This is primed to destroy any evidence to truncate the EFCC ongoing investigations of the alleged contracts fraud in NEMA to let the suspects off the hook.

The group further called on all security agencies, particularly, the Police, the Department of State Security Service (DSS), the Civi Defence and others to be on red alert to halt the plan as well as , arrest and arraign the perpetrators in court for prosecution.

Crime / Boko Haram: Global Amnesty Watch Hails Troops Over Fight Against Insurgents by NigerianTabloid: 7:32pm On Jun 01, 2018
The Global Amnesty Watch, GAW, an international human rights organization, has spoken on activities of troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole currently fighting Boko Haram terrorists in north eastern part of Nigeria.

President of GAW, David Falt, while speaking during a visit to the headquarters of Operation Lafiya Dole, called on other international bodies to come to the aid of the country.

According to Falt, GAW decided to visit Nigeria in order to witness activities of the troops and condition of the Internally Displaced Persons in the region.

In his speech, the GAWA boss said, "The Global Amnesty Watch has been in town for sometimes now and having worked extensively to examine the war against terror in Nigeria, it will be out of place not to visit the theatre of operations to pay our complement to the Nigerian troops."

"The reality however is that I am here after an extended field trip of affected areas and attending the International Conference on Terrorism here in Nigeria. Participants and experts at the conference assessed the war on terrorism in the past three years, which incidentally covers the period the present administration has been in office."

"This is a method of evaluation I recommend experts in conflict monitoring and resolution to return to, on the ground assessment. Advancement in technology has internet connectivity means that international organizations are able to remotely monitor conflicts, conduct interviews and exchange documents and other information.

“But these are fraught with downsides, with the greatest minus being the ease with which they can be easily manipulated for mischief – satellite images that have been doctored, interviews with composite personalities that do not exist but were created to mislead researchers, videos, pictures and audios that have been edited to alter the contexts are few of the pitfalls that have compromised the reports of organizations that otherwise see themselves as reputable."

David, while expressing his reservation on the recent reports against the Nigerian Military by an agency, stated that the limited number of staff deployed as human intervention to mediate technology used on the field have proven even less reliable than the process they are meant to moderate.

The Global President applauded the Nigerian Military saying "One must commend the Army leadership for instilling the highest level of respect for rules of engagement and human rights in the course of fighting terrorists.

“Nigeria has done well in this fight. The kind of destabilization in other places with ISIS and al-Qaeda has been averted for Nigeria because the Army at some point did the right thing by adopting a Nigerian approach to a global problem that surfaced in your country. It is working, even though there are forces that prefer things turn out differently."

Falt charged the Army not to relent or else things will degenerate again, especially in the case of groups in their formative stages of becoming terrorist organizations.

"The world is looking up the Nigerian military. This is why the Nigerian military must shun every form of distraction when carrying out their duties.

“You must continue to ensure that troops comply with rules of engagement and respect human rights so that those working to place obstacle in the way of the war on terrorism would not have substantiation for their allegations. This much is owed to the civilian populations that have come to rightly depend on the military for protection from terrorists. We commend your protection and appeal that you do not let them down for any reason."

In his response, Commodore Aminu Hassan, the Deputy Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, said it was their pleasure to see credible organisations to always come and cross check facts for themselves in the theatre.

Crime / Group Cries Out Over Diversionary Persecution Of NEMA Boss, Maihaja by NigerianTabloid: 8:32am On May 31, 2018
A civil society organization, known as Coalition for Good Governance (CGG) has kicked against what it termed diversionary persecution of the Director –General, National Emergency Management Agency Engr. Mustapha Maihaja.

The group decried what it described as the endless, sordid and diversionary persecution of the agency boss by the House of Representatives’ Speaker, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, through a proxy, the ad hoc House Committee chaired by Hon. Ali Isa.

CCG alleged that the investigation was designed and cleverly crafted as persecution of the NEMA boss, Engr. Maihaja by the leadership of the House of Representatives led by Speaker Dogara.

Recall that months back, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had uncovered sublime acts of corruption in the management of funds accruing to NEMA by the immediate past leadership of the agency, led by Mr. Sani Sidi Mohammed.

At least, the EFCC fingered the former NEMA DG and of six his directors, who allegedly connived to dubiously siphon NEMA’s funds to the whooping sum of N2.5 billion.

Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, the Executive Director of CCG, Mrs. Jaiyeole Mohammed, said the conduct of the Hon. Isa led House Committee is partial, vindictive, dishonest, selective and malicious.

His statement reads below.

" The House committee conveniently ignored the subsisting case of fraud, which the EFCC had tentatively established against the former NEMA DG and the directors. It has devoted all its energy and wisdom in probing the tenure of Engr. Maihaja, while the indicted, suspended, but reinstated directors by the order of the House of Reps are still in custody of files containing critical documents that would aid EFCC investigation into the fraud.

"The twist is why would the House of Representatives take over a case being handled by the EFCC, the agency lawfully vested with the powers to prosecute persons involved in financial crimes? Equally disturbing is why the House committee has overlooked or abandoned a glaring case to concentrate its probe on the vague case against the NEMA boss? what is the motivation that has informed this suspect decision?

"Therefore, we feel it is nothing rather than to execute its vindictive mission against President Muhammedu Buhari, by nailing his appointees. So, in the pursuit of this agenda, the House Committee has cooked up frivolous allegations against the current NEMA boss, Engr. Maihaja, claiming he abused due process in some contracts awarded by the agency, running into billions of naira.

"The probe by the House Committee on the NEMA boss has continued, but unfortunately, it has found nothing concrete or incriminating to nail the current NEMA boss. But overtly and in the suspected plot of vendetta against President Buhari and his appointees, orchestrated by Speaker Dogara, the House committee probe has continued to bark meaninglessly.

" We wish to draw the attention of the public to the fact that House of Representatives led by Speaker Dogara is pursuing a personal and narrow interest in the guise of the probe of the present NEMA boss. It has not marketed itself as pursuing public interest. It is baffling why the House committee has not found it expedient or even necessary to invite the former NEMA DG and the directors fingered in the alleged fraud for interrogation, but it is becoming incensed over the probe of Engr. Maihaja.

"The Hon. Isa led House committee has also ignored petitions by Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) drawing its attention to the pending alleged fraud case against the former NEMA DG and the directors. This is extremely malicious and partial.

"Unfortunately though, the House Committee has turned unbearable heat and pressure on the current NEMA DG, Engr. Maihaja to the extent of threatening to arrest the DG, who on two occasions, could not honour the committee’s invitations, because of pressing official engagements, but deemed it necessary to send representatives while he was on official visit to Benue and other states.

"The NEMA DG had to accompany Vice President Osinbajo to Benue State in government efforts to tackle the monumental humanitarian problems in the state precipitated by the herders/farmers crisis. Strangely, this matter of grave public concern did not attract the understanding or sympathy of the House committee, because it is primed to deliver instant results on the destructive mission.

"We make bold to say, the conduct of the Hon. Isa led House Committee is partial, vindictive, dishonest, selective and malicious. We need no soothsayer to know that we are in very serious trouble as far as these self-seeking and egocentric leaders of the House are concerned.

" Flowing from this standpoint, we therefore reject in totality any invitation of NEMA’s DG by the House Committee or any appointee of the Buhari administration, until it advertises itself as ready to invite and interrogate those really culpable in the NEMA fraud scandal.

"The reputational crisis these selfish characters in the House of Representatives intend to create and nurture to tarnish the image of the Buhari Presidency would no longer be tolerated or accepted by the coalition. The blackmail and persecution of Buhari’s appointees in order to rubbish or stain the integrity of the President must stop now."

Crime / Boko Haram: Amnesty International Under Fire Over Fictitious Report On Army by NigerianTabloid: 8:08am On May 24, 2018
SOURCE>>>>>http://www.tabloidnig.com/2018/05/boko-haram-amnesty-international-under.html

Activities at the Abuja office of Amnesty International was temporarily brought to a halt as over 1000 protesters on Wednesday stormed the office to protest what they described as ‘plot to destabilise Nigeria.’

The angry protesters claimed that the international agency had concluded plans to release a report, which would accuse the government troops and civilian JTF currently fighting the Boko Haram terrorists in the north east, of routinely detaining, raping, starving and killing women, as well as minors.

This development came barely one week after the Nigerian Army panel of inquiry exonerated the military of colliding with terrorists in the country.

Addressing the protest, Comrade Danesi Momoh, the National Convener of the Civil Rights Groups, organiser of the protest, described the yet-to-be-released report as not only false but maliciously targeted at creating tension and unsettling the nation.

He said Wednesday’s protest march was merely a rehearsal, insisting that the International agency must quit Nigeria if it fails to stop such false information.

His full text below.

“Upon the expiration of today, at precisely midnight, Amnesty International is releasing a report, with which it plans to totally destabilize Nigeria.

“The false report will among other things claim that government troops and Civilian JTF routinely detain, rape, starve and kill women as well as minors. It claims that “Instead of receiving protection from the authorities, women and girls have been forced to succumb to rape in order to avoid starvation or hunger.”

“Several patriotic groups had only recently raised alarm that UNICEF is coordinating other international NGOs for evidence shopping as part of a major shift to start accusing the Federal Government and the military of sexual violence. This plot was being executed by UNICEF staff in conjunction with others under a purpose vehicle, Protection From Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Nigeria, with the mandate to tarnish authorities with alleged sexual crimes. Amnesty International has simply resumed the assignment it earlier handed over to PSEA and is now calling these agents of instability from PSEA its researchers.

“We are aware that staff of Amnesty International, UNICEF and the other member-organizations of PSEA were given quotas on the number of alleged sexual abuse/sexual exploitation cases to file towards the realization of these lies packaged as a report.

“ The decision of Amnesty International to only base its so-called report on 2015-2018 is suspect and confirms that whoever is financing its PSYOP in Nigeria is angry that the tide was turned against their Boko Haram agents since the current political and military leadership took over the helms of affairs in 2015. It is sickening that Amnesty International can now be using its report to praise the dark era when cities as far south as Kogi state were under siege from Boko Haram terrorists.

“In its long-established tradition of compulsive lying, all its interviewees are unanimous. What is playing out here is another Nayira Testimony of Amnesty International’s Nayirah al-Ṣabaḥ legacy. It should have by now learnt that there are discerning people that see through these lies even before they are told. We are aware that Amnesty International has learnt since the Nayira saga to obscure the identity of its so call witnesses so that it becomes impossible to verify its claims, which would invariably be found to be lies since that is what its agenda thrives on.

“We like to put our military, intelligence and security agencies on notice that this is a pattern we have become all too familiar with. Whenever Amnesty International issues this kind of report it means it has just concluded paying mobilization to its Boko Haram fighters, recruited new suicide bombers and provided psychotropic drugs and explosives – all geared towards helping the terrorists regroup.

“We therefore warn authorities to be vigilant for this spike in attacks.

“They must also begin to build confidence of the population because the war on terrorism has now spread to become the battle for perception as Amnesty International is intensifying efforts at maligning the country’s security architecture so that people will perceive the military in bad light and stop volunteering information that have been crucial to degrading Boko Haram.

“Nigerians are not going to sheepishly step on the conveyor belt of Amnesty International’s destabilization agenda to be like Iraq, Yemen, Libya and other countries where Amnesty International has successfully executed its contract of incapacitating the military through webs of lies spun in the name of upholding human rights.

“The protest march of today is merely a rehearsal. It is the beginning of the occupation of Amnesty International until it gets out of our country. With the tenacity the NGO has shown in its bid to destroy Nigeria, we will not pull back like we did the last time its lies made us to occupy its premises. We have had enough of its destabilizing lies and we say Amnesty International must leave Now!”

Politics / Traditional Elder Attack Benue Ethnic Leaders For Rejecting Buratai’s advice by NigerianTabloid: 12:11pm On May 15, 2018
Respected elder and Benue community leader, Chief John Apochi, has fired back at Benue ethnic leaders over their recent attack on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai over his advice on the ongoing clashes between herders and farmers in the state.

The tribal leaders of Benue state had recently slammed Buratai, who called for a review of the state’s grazing law in order to give room for lasting peace in the state.

Speaking yesterday through their Chairman Chief Edward Ujege, the leaders under the aegis Mdzough U Tiv (MUT), Idoma National Forum and Omi-Ny’Igede who commended the Army Chief for his concern and dogged fight against insurgency in the country, lamented that the call by Lieutnant General Buratai would embolden the killers.

Reacting, however, Chief Apochi said the rejection of the worthy advice by Lieutnant Buratai whom the group also praised for his selflessness and patriotism was a clear indication that the Benue leaders were playing politics and not ready to see the end of the ongoing crisis tearing the state apart.

Writing from his Lagos abode, Chief Apochi wonder why the so-called leaders of Benue ethnics groups spurned the advice by Buratai, who is not an ethnic leader or politician, but a professional, trusted and time-tested soldier like they rightly posited in heir statement.

Chief Apochi maintained that the political leadership in Benue State has refused to be truthful to itself and the citizens on the way forward from a delicate issue that should be treated without any form of politics or sentiments to achieve peace for all.

He wrote:

I am hardly interested in commenting on issues which have political and ethnic slant in my home state of Benue for obvious reasons. But I avoid it specifically because of the possibility of our people to easily misconstrue the genuine and good intentions by blending it with politics.

But I have decided to voice out on the seeming and raging verbal tussle between the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai and Benue’s ethnic leaders led by Chief Edward Ujege under the auspices of the Mdzough U Tiv (MUT), the Idoma National Forum and the Omi-Ny’Igede, representing the three major ethnic groupings in the state.

Briefly, the Army Chief has counseled the Government of Benue State to revisit the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law, 2017, which he believes has ennobled the violent siege of Benue state and opened the floodgate of killings in ceaseless crisis between herders and peasant farmers.

But the Benue ethnic leaders are not comfortable with this advice from the Army boss and in their open rejection of it, they threw wisdom to the dogs, embarked chicanery and buffoonery in a manner that projects these elders and leaders as more interested in the bloodbath in the land rather than enduring solutions to ending the crisis.

I beg to disagree with my elders and leaders on several scores. But first, let me repeat the obvious, a fact known to these leaders that the COAS, Lt. Gen. Buratai is not an ethnic leader or politician, but a professional, trusted and time-tested soldier, as the elders admitted of his character and personality.

It therefore mocks sound reasoning to have perceived and interpreted his honest advice from the restricted prisms of any of the aforementioned camps. It is even wrong and infantile, the insinuation that the Army Chief’s advice may have sprouted from pecuniary considerations or his clandestine desire to protect any ethnic group.

To this end, I wish to remind our elders and leaders that the carnage in Benuestate is fast assuming the character of a war. And in war situations, feuding parties do not have their minds on fixated solutions as these tribal leaders are pontificating. Several options are explored for peace to reign.

And under the circumstances we have found ourselves in Benue today, no sacrifice should be deemed too great to make or concessions too precious to offer for peace. They say, peace is priceless, but war is expensive to fund and manage.

In time past, we knew age comes with wisdom, but not in this generation anymore. When leaders begin to reason in this manner, it becomes apparent that wisdom has piteously departed from these elders. It is reflected in the current ridicule of the worthy advice from the Army Chief. It expresses the depth of our dilemma as a people. Or else, what is the essence of tenaciously holding onto something that is visiting death upon you?

It does appear to me that these ethnic leaders are blinded by acerbic fury, so they have thrown the baby out, together with the bathwater. The COAS didn't call or even contemplate the suspension of the anti-open grazing law by the Benuestate government, as postured by the ethnic leaders.

Rather in the spirit of “Live, lets live,” he canvassed for slight modification of the law to fairly accommodate the interests of all the feuding parties. I don’t think this is a bad bargain and the focus of the tribal leaders should have been on how to save lives, as against the promotion of crisis.

These tribal leaders should also be concerned with the near zero salaries and pensions payment and the resultant deaths arising from hardships inflicted on the people of Benue.

Why are they not concerned with the undercover forces fuelling the crisis? Does it strike anything in their senses the huge sums of money found in the accounts of the recently arrested Aliyu Tashaku, a Boko Haram member, while development and salaries are denied the people?

Unless and until these elders and leaders begin to sincerely and truthfully address these problems, the fire brigade approach is meaningless and of no effect. If you want to kill a tree, you cut the roots. This problem cannot be resolved by political grandstanding as manifest in the utterances and actions of these leaders. It is a sign of serious trouble for us and the youths should wake up from slumber to question these leaders. It is time to take their destinies into their hands.

Crime / Boko Haram: Insurgents Have Been Defeated – Anti-terrorism Group Counters UN Cla by NigerianTabloid: 7:30pm On May 10, 2018
An anti-terrorism group, the Coalition Against Terrorism and Extremism (CATE) has replied the United Nations over its recent claim that the Boko Haram terrorists have not been defeated.

A United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambers, had recently claimed that the that Boko Haram sect has not been defeated in the north-eastern part of the country.

Chambers, who spoke with newsmen in Maiduguri recently on the sideline of the two-day Lake Chad Governors’ Forum for Regional Cooperation on Stabilisation, Peace-building and Sustainable Development, observed that “Boko Haram is by no means defeated but certainly weakened. The fight needs to continue.”

Addressing journalists in Abuja, however, CATE executive director, Comrade Gabriel Onoja, said the reality on ground as by independent analysts as well as peace and conflict resolution practitioners on the field show that the terrorist group remains defeated.

Onoja expressed worries that the statement credited to the UN may be a precursor to the re-arming of the terrorists to cause more havoc.

He said the statement by Chambers may have confirmed initial fears of international conspiracy to make Nigeria fail, wondering why the UN is yet to disown the statement.

He said, "CATE is therefore looking below the surface in assessing the position declared by the UN and ibn Chambers’ because it implies there are steps being taken by these players to revive and re-arm Boko Haram to ensure that all possible outcomes tally with their perverted position.

"Irrespective of the twisted position that some key players may wish to adopt, our stand is that Boko Haram has been and remained defeated. The assessment that made us arrive at this conclusion is neither by the UN or the Federal Government of Nigeria’s standard but we rather rely on the reality on ground as can be attested to by independent analysts as well as peace and conflict resolution practitioners on the field.

“We urge the Nigerian military and government not to be caught napping."

Travel / PMT Launches 100 Brand New Buses From Its Auto Assembly Plant In Enugu by NigerianTabloid: 9:58pm On May 01, 2018
Peace Mass Transit (PMT) Limited, the leading mini-bus transport company in the country, has readied a total of 100 brand new buses for injection into its fleet.

The buses are all products of newly established PMT Vehicle Assembly Plant, located within the Emene Industrial Layout headquarters of the company.

PMT Executive Director in charge of operations, Collins Uche Udedi, disclosed that the new buses would be assigned to drivers and deployed to the PMT depots across the country before weekend.

Peace Mass Transit has an active fleet of 3,000 buses with at least 2,000 on the road daily. It regularly freshens up the fleet to meet customer expectations and also maintain its market leadership.

The launch of the 100 units of designer Peace Hiace is coming at a time most transport companies are closing down altogether, making losses and/or resorting to use of fairly used (Tokunbo) vehicles. There are no tokunbo buses in the entire PMT fleet.

PMT Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Chief Samuel Maduka Onyishi, maintains he runs the company more or less as a “ministry” and not strictly as business, and would therefore, always do what it takes to keep the company as industry leader, at all times.

“The brand new buses we are injecting cost almost N 17 million per unit, but I have a pact with both God and our huge clientele to offer the best possible services at all, times,” he stated after inspecting the newly assembled buses on Monday.

Chief Onyishi, Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) expressed gratitude to God and also Nigerians of all works of life who have kept faith with PMT for over 20years, urging them not to waiver.

“Our customers deserve even more and no less,” he added. “We will never take their patronage for granted because they have brought us thus far.”

He reiterated that the introduction of the new buses was a “strategic fleet rejig” and in no way signified or suggested older vehicles had any maintenance issues or were about to be discarded.

“Our maintenance culture is second to none, top notch and the team is manned by technicians and engineers some of whom are trained abroad. Any PMT vehicle on the highway out there, even those on local routes, are regularly checked in for maintenance, not when it breaks down, but when it becomes due. They also run on brand new tyres which are replaced on attainment of a certain mileage, not when they burst or are worn out”.

Special, distinguishing features of the new buses include, but not limited to EBS/ABS brake system combined, digital dash board, factory-fitted speed limiter, on-board TV, and DVC player for customers’ non-stop pleasure.

There are also multiple GSM charging points and luggage control. The buses are also fully air-conditioned and have seat belts for all passengers. Free on board WiFi services are still being worked out, according to Executive Director, Uche.

Politics / Group Reveals How Ortom Started Benue Crises by NigerianTabloid: 9:10pm On Jan 15, 2018
As reactions continue to trail the recent attack on Benue communities by suspected Fulani herdsmen were over 80 people were killed, a civil society group has slammed the state governor, Samuel Ortom for allegedly setting out to wipe out some ethnic group from the state.

The group, under he auspices of Good Governance and Transparency Initiative (GGTI), alleged that Ortom has been been arming militants, whom he instructed to cleanse out specific ethnic groups from the state based on the anti-grazing law that has remained a subject of contention.

GGTI, while deescribibg the ugly development in Benue state as sickening, noted that nothing in the recent history of Nigeria has exhibited such callous disregard for human lives, not even Boko Haram.

The group said it was laughable that Ortom is crying like a child deprived of breast milk by accusing others for the war he started.

Mrs Jaiyeola Mohammed, Executive Director of the group in a statement said Ortom clawed at shadows at every opportunity even when he has done nothing to retrieve the weapons he gave to members of the Livestock Guards and Civilian JTF.

He noted that all the highly condemnable things Governor Ortom has done in the past have now paled into insignificance considering their discovery that he planed to spend over 1 billion Naira to blackmail Hausa/Fulani ethnic group in several major cities of the world.

His words, “We have evidence that his contractors, mobilized with the 1 billion Naira Benue state money, have concluded logistics for Ortom's protests in the United States, Canada and UK respectively. The money is going into providing transportation and allowances to protesters in these countries and also procure favourable media. The protesters would be coached to present themselves as angling for the interest of Nigeria.

“The money is being routed through a former Nigerian Ambassador to Canada, who is to lead the protest in Washington DC. He has identified conduits for distributing the money to protesters in the UK, US and Canada for the purpose of inciting Nigerians, blackmailing and tarnishing the image of the Nigerian State and if possible destroy the reputation of another particular ethnic stock outside the shores of Nigeria.

“One of these protests has been scheduled for Monday January 22, 2018 in Westminster, London. We are aware of several events built around this protest and how a second group of faux protesters would impersonate a pro-Federal Government of Nigeria group to spark violence that would be interpreted as two opposing Nigerian groups clashing over the farmers/herders' crisis in Benue state. That someone can be remorseless to the point of hatching such satanic plot on foreign soil is an insight into the indifference with which he his own state, Benue, on fire. He has certainly crossed the last frontiers of sanity with this new plot for our country to look bad on the international scene.

“This sick plot is coming after Governor Ortom similarly expended his state money to trawl propaganda value from the mass burial for victims of his evil scheming. He failed to hide the fact that the mass burial was organized to incite the people of Benue State against the Hausa /Fulani ethnic stock failed to yield the needed calamity and chaos that was packaged to cover up his complicity in the instigated genocide in Benue State.

“We find both instances to represent the depth of depravity because if he had as much as spent half of the 1 billion naira for foreign protests on his state he would have been able to pay salaries and would not have needed to create and arm a militia to divert attention from his incompetence. Our hope is that Governor Ortom has by now realize and would eventually accept that his position as Benue state governor is no longer tenable given the series of evil manifestation that have come from him without flinching in repulsion at the monster he has become.

“There is still time for the Benue state governor to call his protest contractors to order, recover the amount they are yet to spend to the state's coffers and face the reality of the mess he has created. While he ponders how to end the festival of death he proclaimed upon his own people, we have some curious questions perchance there is still a human soul trapped inside the arrogant warlock that is demanding litres of human blood daily under the guise of farmers/herders' clashes:

“Why is Governor Samuel Ortom afraid of an investigation by the Federal Govt to unravel the immediate cause of the most recent crisis in Guma, his Local Government Area and Logo Local Government Area?

“Why is Governor Samuel Ortom bent on spending the tax payers' money on such a publicity jamboree against another section of the country even when those he claimed to love and buried their family members have not received a penny of their salaries for the upkeep of their families?

“What is keeping him from admitting his error, retrace his steps and put a stop to the carnage in Benue state to ensure that the rest of the country is not bunt in his evil play?

“Where would he draw the line and declare a stop to his sick obsession with blaming everyone but himself for crises he deliberately instigates?

“What will he do when the last of the state's resources dry up with his irresponsible spending on propaganda to defend his lost war?”

Politics / Biafra: Terrorists Behind Law Suit Against Nigerian Military - MOP Warns US Gove by NigerianTabloid: 11:03am On Jun 14, 2017
Movement of the People of Nigeria, a civil society organisation has frowned at the suit instituted by some persons against Nigeria's military leadership before a United States (U.S.) District Court for the District of Columbia.

THE NIGERIAN noted that a United States (U.S.) District Court for the District of Columbia had granted leave to 10 Biafran plaintiffs to sue Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, and 13 others for complicity in the 2016 torture and extra-judicial killings under colour of Nigeria law to retaliate for peaceful Biafran protests against ethnic or religious oppression.
Brought under the Torture Victims Protection Act and Alien Tort Claims Act Complaint, the plaintiffs are seeking millions of dollars as damages to compensate for their grievous losses and suffering.

Reacting, however, Chairman of the group, Innocent Oche Pita in a statement forwarded to THE NIGERIAN tagged the suit as a calculated attempt to rubbish the US judiciary for its liberal stand on human rights and protection of lives, abuse the law under which the suit is filed so that it no longer serves the purpose for which it was crafted, and to use it to cause strain in Nigeria – US relations.
According to him, “ Secrecy in a case that claims to be as grounded as the plaintiffs claimed is dubious as it implies that criminals can hide under such unanimity to further questionable agenda. The plaintiffs would only fear exposing their identities either because they are not real in the first place or that they are persons with criminal records in the US.”
He alleged that people behind the suit are not Nigerians and should stop dragging the name of the country's military to the mud.

He added that, “This is why we are worried that even non-Nigerians can be coached to give evidence since it is apparent that the people that filed the suit are not honest enough to show themselves.”
The group’s leader vowed that MOP will raise its own team of lawyer to confront anyone or any group that is out to rubbish the image of our great country or attempts to further diminish its citizenry in the eyes of citizens of the world.

“ Much as it is glaring that the US courts lack jurisdiction to try such issues, it is good to state clearly that there is no record or evidence that the Nigerian Military abused the rights of any citizen within or outside the territory of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and those who fear such are common criminals who had held the country by the jugular in the recent past through acts like banditry, kidnaping and gun-for-hire.
“The world is aware that Nigeria has suffered in the hands of terrorists and extremists and the Biafra agitators are another brand of terrorists that must not be admitted into the United States, Nigeria or any other peace loving nation. It will be wise for the Trump administration and the security agencies to discretely investigate the plaintiffs as regards their activities in the United State before they become the kind of nuisance that is presently threatening the United Kingdom and other European countries,” he added.

Science/Technology / Successful People Don't Jog And Sweat On The Streets - Buhari Tells Zuckerberg by NigerianTabloid: 3:49pm On Sep 02, 2016
“I am impressed by your simplicity in sharing your knowledge and wealth with those with less income.”

The President noted that the simplicity and magnanimity of the entrepreneur, who is among the world’s richest men, had also challenged the culture of lavish wealth display and impulsive spending that had become peculiar to Nigerians.

“In our culture, we are not used to seeing successful people appear like you. We are not used to seeing successful people jogging and sweating on the streets.

“We are more used to seeing successful people in air-conditioned places. We are happy you are well-off and simple enough to always share,” he said.

Politics / Buhari Is Foisting A Tyranny On Nigerians - Fayose by NigerianTabloid: 7:28am On Aug 25, 2016
Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State has resumed his verbal attacks on President Muhamamadu Buhari.

The Governor in a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, on Wednesday, condemned Tuesday’s invasion and sealing off of the residence of a former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, by armed policemen.

He alleged that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress and its supporters had turned President Muhammadu Buhari into a dictator by keeping silent in the face of perceived undemocratic acts.

Fayose said, “The fact that Senator Rabiu Kwakwanso is of the ruling APC should worry well-meaning Nigerians because it appears no one will be spared by these anti-democracy agents that have taking over Nigeria.”

Explaining that the invasion of Kwakwanso’s house amounted to an infringement on the right of association, the governor said there was no law in the constitution stipulating Nigerians to obtain a police permit before holding a wedding.

He added, “When they invaded the Akwa Ibom State Government House with armed men of the Department of State Services, I raised the alarm then and I did warn that Nigeria was being returned to 1984 when President Buhari ruled the country like a maximum ruler.

“When I said Nigerians, irrespective of their political parties, should rise in condemnation of President Buhari’s emerging dictatorship, many of our friends in the APC opted to keep silent.

“Some even hailed the DSS when it invaded the Ekiti State House of Assembly and abducted a member of the House.

“Nigerians should realise that with the bullying of Kwakwanso, a two-term governor, former minister of defence and serving senator, it is now very clear that the APC government will even be intolerant of opposition within the party, not to talk of external opposition. Men of good conscience should prevail on President Buhari to caution the security agencies to be mindful of foisting a tyranny on Nigerians.”

Religion / Honey Phoenix Evarist: "Omega Fire Ministry Pastor Sexually Assaulted Me" by NigerianTabloid: 3:56pm On Aug 24, 2016
AIT staff writes about how a pastor of Omega Fire Ministries sexually assaulted her in 2013.

AIT staff Honey Phoenix Evarist took to her Facebook page yesterday to share how a Pastor of Omega Fire Ministieres sexually assaulted her after the mum took her to the pastor for not acting like a christian.

Read her report below:

In 2013 my mum told me i needed deliverance because i refused to act like a "christian" she took me to a pastor of Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) he said i will do a retreat with him for one month so i went back home to pack my stuff.

This man would always enter my room without knocking. His hands would linger around my breasts when he hugs me...i was uncomfortable but i tried to bring my "mind out of the gutter".
We used to have night prayers and he would prolong the prayers till his heavily pregnant wife got tired and he'l encourage her to go to bed and rest...once she leaves he starts to tell me how much he loves me and how i dont need deliverance because there is nothing wrong with me,and how i am a nice girl who her parents misunderstood.

I was not all that suprised and i tried to take advantage of the situation. I would miss prayers or evening service because i knew he wont do anything about it.

But then his wife started to notice that i had too much freedom.and what suprised me was that he did not seem to care...he would try to kiss me when his wife was just one room away...he would wink at me when her back was turned...he would hold my hand at the back seat of the car when we are returning from night vigil. He was like a love struck teenager.

Tomorrow, 12th of August, 2016, makes it exactly 27 year since the exit of Nigeria’s first football martyr, Samuel Sochukwuma Okwaraji‎.

The sad event occurred on a tension-soaked Saturday, 12th August, 1989, during a make or mar Italia 1990 World Cup qualifier match, between the Green Eagles and the boastful Angolan side. The pulsating encounter was held at the now pathetic and rickety National Stadium, in Surulere, Lagos.

Politics / Shekau Reacts To Al-Barnawi's Emergence As Boko Haram Leader by NigerianTabloid: 9:21am On Aug 04, 2016
Boko Haram: Abubakar Shekau Reappears Again After ISIS Named His Successor, Claims He Was Deceived

The erstwhile leader of Jama’atu Ahl as-Sunnah li-Da’awati wal-Jihad popularly known as Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau has released a recorded message a few hours after the news of his successor was made public by ISIS via its magazine.

The Islamic State militant group on Wednesday announced Abu Musab al-Barnawi as its West African affiliate ‘Boko Haram’s new leader.

Shekau in the 10-minute 23-second audio message in Arabic and Hausa which SaharaReporters monitored in New York said he was deceived, but he will never stray from the ideology of the Jama’atu Ahl as-Sunnah li-Da’awati wal-Jihad which he said had a basis in the Quran.

Shekau in the recorded message said nothing would deter the sect from pursuing it's cause even if they are called ‘kwawarij’ meaning those that opposed arbitration as a means to chose a new leader.

The new Shekau message coming after one year of silence has clearly confirmed the ideological differences and friction in Boko Haram hierarchy and failure to resolve their differences which might have led to the IS declaring Abu Musab al-Banawi as the new leader of the deadly sect.

Authoritative sources have also confirmed that Shekau has been against IS advisors sent to train his fighters, he is also accused of hoarding food, ammunition and recklessly killing Muslims, allegation denied by Shekau in his taped message.

Shekau is said to be high-handed, killing off his fighters under the slightest excuses without recourse to in-depth findings of their misdemeanors, to completely derailthese his adversaries to derail completelyfrom the ideology of the sect as prescribed by the principles of Jihad.

The idealogical uprising in the sect in another premise is said to hinge on attacks targeted at Internally Displaced Persons, Mosques and other places of worship some Boko Haram fighters considered impure.

Abu Musab al-Barnawi, the purported new leader according to a famous journalist, Ahmed Halkida who has been following book Haram since its emergence said al-Bernawi is the son of late Mohammed Yusuf, the founder of Boko Haram who was extra-judicially murdered by the Nigerian police in 2009.

As at the time of this report, there is high indication that al-Banarwi will equally reply Shekau with his version of events.
Book Haram continues to hold several high school students kidnapped from Chibok hostage at an unknown destination.

Below is excerpts of Shekau’s words in Hausa:

“All blessings be to Almighty Allah, and his His Prophet SAW. I am Imam Abubakar Shekau

“This is the message to the world, to those who can understand Hausa and any other languages it can be translated for a clear understanding of the message, which is why we are sending this message to the world.

“The content of my message goes thus. We have heard news going round and attributed to people we had earlier pledge allegiance to. Even though we are not against them base on the message we heard in the world radio but we are still on our ideology.

“We know those we differ with, and I have written on this long ago. All we wrote have been documented with me, some eight pages and some nine pages stating their kind of ideology.

“Because I stated it clear that I am against the principle where someone will dwell in the society with the infidels without making public his opposition or anger against infidels publicly as it is stated in the Quran. Anyone doing such can't be a real Muslim thick and thin. This is what our ideology proved. And that is where I am, to them, a Muslim can dwell in the society and do his marketing compromising core foundations.

“I want the world to know that we are still holding our ideology and tied with the Quran, we will not derail and will not revolt but will continue to remain in the cause of Allah. Following Prophet SAW is compulsory for us, and we will follow it to the end.

“This is our stand, and we are still in the cause of Jama’atu Ahl as-Sunnah li-Da’awati wal-Jihad and Allah will help us. May Allah strengthen us to remain in this cause.

“We are still members of Jama’atu Ahl as-Sunnah li-Da’awati wal-Jihad, no matter what they call us, we remain what we are. No matter what we have our basis in Quran. No matter what they call us, what we aspire is to justify our ideology in the Quran which is ultimate because we have not derailed. We are on and in the future, we will not accept any emissary except the one we can attest he is sincere and truthful for Allah and His cause.

“In the first place, we sat and I was deceived, they said I should write my ideology to be taken if there is a mistake they will point out and bring back. They now deceive me, and it is base on some authorities and today I found out that there is one who is following principles of infidel which they want me to follow, and Prophet has stopped us against such. We are still in the cause of Allah and will never depart in the struggle to establish an Islamic caliphate and standing by Islam. We will continue to work for the cause of Allah no going back.

“Anyone that caused this, no problem, if it's possible may Allah show him the correct path and if it is not so may Allah protect us from his mischief.”
