A fearless Texas A&M senior posed with a alligator for her jaw-dropping graduation photoshoot after she developed a one-of-a-kind bond with the reptile during her summer internship at Gator Country Rescue in Beaumont, Texas.

Speaking about her experience with the nearly 14-foot long and 1,000-pound alligator, Makenzie Noland said: “I am not scared for my life out here, I know I am in very good hands.

””I am very happy to work with Tex [the alligator] every single day so I wanted him to be a part of this special moment,” she explained.Despite the intimidating look on the gargantuan reptile, Noland said he’s a gentle giant.
”I know on a moment’s notice it can turn bad but he doesn’t want to hurt us, he tries to watch our backs.

Whenever we go into any other alligator’s pond he’s up there looking at us, making sure we’re OK,” Noland said.

The lawmaker announced the defection to hundreds of supporters in Akwa Ibom, as long expected.

Senator Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom North-West) has officially dumped the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.

The former Akwa Ibom State governor announced his defection to hundreds of supporters at a rally held in his honour in Ikot Ikpene.

He said, “Why APC? You need to know that I’m a nationalist. In troubled times like this, when a country is at war, all hands must be on deck to service the federation. This is a difficult moment for Nigeria.

“In a period of election or in a period of national emergency, everybody should put hands together to support the governement to bring peace to people. I will like to be a conspirator who joins hands to conspire to bring food to the table of Nigerians.

The lawmaker’s defection has long been expected since he met with President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and APC national leader, Bola Tinubu, within the past six days.

Tinubu, APC chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, and Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, were some of the top officials who graced the rally on Wednesday.

Senate Majority Leader, Ahmed Lawan (Yobe North) was also present at the rally with over a dozen senators of the APC to support Akpabio whose defection follows on the heels of the mass exodus of APC lawmakers, including Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who dumped the party for the PDP.

There are so many bizarre cultures in the world so difficult to understand but still interesting enough to capture the interest of other people in its controversy.

The Yanomami tribe in South America are also known as Yanam or Senema are found in Venezuela and parts of Brazil. This tribe is not easily influenced by modernization or westernisation but rather still practice their culture.

This tribe has a weird burial ritual akin to cannibalism called Endocannibalism.

Endocannibalism is the practice of eating the flesh of a dead person from the same community, tribe or society.

The Yanomami are a native tribe that believe that the soul needs to be protected after the body dies.

They believe that the soul can only rest properly and make its transition only when the body has been burned and the body eaten by the living relatives.

Unlike the conventional burial ceremony of interment, this native Indian tribe burn the body of the dead person and paint their faces with the grime from the burnt body.

They sing and cry to express their grief over the loss of the relative.

In the second phase of the burial, they gather the bones remaining from burning the bodies and turn them into powder mixing it with the ashes from the burnt bodies.

They mix this into banana which is used to make banana soup, a local delicacy common to this tribe and give it to everybody to eat.

They believe that completing this burial ritual is the only way the soul can attain eternal peace.

But in a case where an enemy kills the relative or village member, only the women eat the ashes and after then a form of revenge is exacted on the culprits however the ceremony is done on the same night the villagers are to revenge through perhaps a raid on the enemy territory.

A couple continued to have drunk sex in a park in Leeds despite police being called by several people and a man confronting them over their actions.

The unidentified couple were caught in Roundhay Park on Sunday when there were children nearby.

One parent went over and slapped the man as he ordered them to stop what they were doing.

The cause of his prolonged nap is said to be down to drug consumption, suspected to be Tramadol

A suspected kidnapper in Owo, Ondo State not only failed to execute his plans alongside his gang members, but he was caught after he stumbled trying to hide the bike and he has been asleep since Sunday, August 5, 2018.
The reason for his deep slumber? A 400mg Tramadol tablet was allegedly found on him.

According to News Guru, the alleged perpetrator and 2 other gang members reportedly tried to kidnap a Pharmacy owner in Owo, Ondo state, who raised alarm before escaping through the back door. The panicking gang members immediately tried to escape.


While the two other gang members made off on the bike they came on, the apprehended kidnapper commandeered a bike using his gun, and almost escaped. But according to Ondo Police Public Relations Officer, Femi Joseph, “the arrested suspect tried to go away with the motorcycle, but stumbled while he was trying to ride the motorcycle and he was apprehended and has been sleeping ever since then.”

While the other two suspects remain at large, the apprehended suspect has been asleep since.

Adewuyi Daniel discovered his Art skills in secondary school and still decides to study Medicine at Obafemi Awolowo University.

Chasing a dream in the medical field and having a passion for Fine art seem incompatible as it is not so common to see medical students having interest in other fields.

However, Adewuyi Daniel is a rare talent among medical students in Nigeria.

In this interview with Pulse, the 200 level student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)talks about how he developed his pencil arts and why he decided to study Medicine.

Pulse: When did you discover your pencil drawing skill?

Daniel: I’ve always been the one whose hands never stops disturbing everything (there is a label for that in Yoruba).

But I actually learnt the reason what my hands don’t stop in the Junior Secondary classes when we had to draw a lot. I was always the best.

Pulse: Why did you choose to study Medicine when you are so talented with an amazing pencil drawing skill?

Daniel: I chose Medicine for three reasons: he Nigerian factors, the parental factors and the personal factors.

Most importantly, I love being among the few best, and you can say that about Medicine.

Pulse: Did you learn the skill anywhere or it is self-taught?

Daniel: I come from a talented family, every member of the family has something they know best which they didn’t even have to learn from anyone.

I guess that affected me too because I can’t say I learn the pencil art from anyone, but then, I can’t deny I have some people whose work guide me in making mine better.

Pulse: How do you intend to combine medicine and art together?

Daniel: I’m a very polygamous person when it comes to making things happen, I could multi-task and still do amazing. I want to have my art gallery which will be where I spend my off-hospital times. I’m not sure I want to have a hospital yet, but I can tell my eyes are on the office of the Minister of Health.

Pulse: What level are you now?

Daniel: I’m in 200 Level.

Pulse: So since there is a parental influence in your choice of course, does this affect your academic performance as you are not studying what you are passionate about?

Daniel: I’m passionate about what I’m studying too, and I don’t think I want to study Art or even anything in the Faculty of Art.

That’s why I mentioned the Nigerian factor earlier on. I have interest in the Biological Sciences, that’s why I joined the Science Class in Senior Secondary School.

My parent only influenced me to choose Medicine over any other Biological Sciences course.

Pulse: Medical students often complain about their course being one of the most difficult courses, how do you combine the rigour of your course with your creative work?

Daniel: Medicine is exactly what only the Medical students understand it is…difficult. When it gets to OAU’s Medicine, it’s like have no other thing in your life anymore but Medicine. Medicine likes to take the whole of your 24 hours every day. But I have my way. I manage my time brilliantly. I carry the work I’m doing around, and my tools too. Any tiny chance I have to stay idle, I just draw.

Pulse: How then do you relax when you jump from academic tasks to your passion-driven task?

Daniel: I’m introverted, so relaxation has to be with myself and my stuff, which makes it easy and possible to be anytime and anywhere.

Pulse: If you have to choose one between Medicine and Pencil Art as a career which will you choose?

Daniel: This was a very tough question the first time I was asked. It’s easier to answer now.

I’m a bi-person, I’m always having two things of everything, and I have learnt how to merge one with the other when I have to hold on to just one of the two. Whichever one if art and Medicine I’m choosing, the other is certainly everywhere in it.
