Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi has ordered the immediate retirement of all permanent secretaries in the state’s civil service.

This is contained in a statement signed by the governor’s Principal Secretary, Clement Nweke, and made available to the media on Sunday in Abakaliki.

According to the statement, only the Clerk of the State House of Assembly, Rose Nwokporo, is exempted from the retirement exercise.
“The affected officers are to complete all handoverexercises in their respective ministries, boards and agencies before the close of work on Monday, November 16.

“All commissioners, heads of parastatals and agencies in the state, are to ensure total compliance to this directive,” the statement read.

In a related development, the Ebonyi Government said the reported fire incident at the Government House in Abakaliki was only an ‘electrical spark’.

The is contained in a statement by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Emma Anya, and made available in Abakaliki on Sunday.

Mr. Anya urged citizens of the state to disregard the report, calling on media practitioners to be ethical in their conduct by verifying all sources of information.

“There was an electrical spark in the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Petroleum Products Pricing and Distribution, Bassey Chima.

“No portion of the office was damaged as the SSA was attending the burial of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Sen. Pius Anyim’s mother-in-law, when the incident occurred.

“When Chima was alerted of the incident, he ‘raced’ to Abakaliki and to God’s glory, staff of thegovernment house had `doused’ the effect of the spark,” the statement read.
Mr. Anya said only a photocopier and television set were slightly affected, and no portion of thegovernment house was gutted by the fire.

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, on Monday, asked the National Judicial Council, NJC to probe the Taraba State governorship election tribunal​’s judgement that sacked the state governor, Darius Ishaku, and announced Aisha Alhassan of the All Progressives Congress as the win​n​er of the April 2015 governorship election.In a statement by his spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, Fayose said: “such judicial rascality and conspiracy displayed in Taraba State must not be allowed to go unquestioned”​.​

He said having observed the Taraba State judgment and others involving the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, it appeared there were different laws being applied to similar cases by the election tribunal.

The governor said that “instead of calling for Fayose’s head that they can never get, the judiciary must in the interest of democracy and rule of law purge itself of cash and carry judges that are daily giving tainted and contradictory judgments”​.​

The governor, who said even though parties to the case have the option of appealing – up to the Supreme Court, “those who truncated​ democracy in Nigeria through military coup must not be allowed to truncate democracy again through manipulation of a section of the judiciary and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

“There are no gods in the judiciary and if Ghana, a smaller country could suspend 22 judges over bribery allegation and probe 12 others, the NJC must not play ostrich to these Salamic judgments being delivered by tribunal judges.

“Those judges, who gave the Taraba State judgment, which is totally against the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) and the one who took N15 million bribe in Yobe State must be investigated by the NJC.”

While also accusing INEC of being part of the conspiracy against the PDP, the governor wondered why the commission did not raise any objection to Governor Ishaku’s participation in the election when his name was submitted as PDP candidate, only for the commission to now cook up report against the PDP at the tribunal.

“There are serving governors and senators in this country, who took part in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election. After failing to pick the APC presidential ticket, their names surfaced as gubernatorial and senatorial candidates of APC in their respective States. Can INEC tell Nigerians when it took part in the process that produced those senators and governors as APC candidates?

“There are also those who left PDP to become APC candidates, can INEC tell Nigerians where the primary elections that produced them were held?

“This double-standard and conspiracy from INEC and a section of the judiciary against the PDP must stop because it is becoming more obvious that those who used the military to truncate democracy in 1983 are out to use a section of the judiciary to truncate our hard earned democracy, ” he said.

''Barrister Olusegun A. Alalade and Mr. Babasanjo Alalade blinds their youngest Sister
Barrister Olusegun Alalade (Mr.), who is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAN) and also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), two esteemed organizations, led a brutal attack with a group of hired thugs and hooligans, on his own siblings in their family estate at Ladipo Oluwole Avenue, Off Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.
Olusegun Alalade and Babasanjo Alalade, both, fraudulently claim to be Administrators to the Estate of Late Chief Daniel Okunola ALALADE, the former Asiwaju of Ada, who died on the 6th of January 2008. Over the years, these two tyrants have continuously looted and misappropriated funds within the Estate. Several family elders have been trying to resolve these issues to no avail.

Olusegun Alalade and Babasanjo Alalade, were served by a court bailiff from the Lagos State High Court on Friday 30th October 2015, for an action on Intermeddling with the Estate of Late Chief Daniel Okunola Alalade. This immediately resulted to violence from this learned fellow and Babasanjo Alalade.
During the attack which happened on Sunday 1st November 2015, barely two days after been served by the court bailiff, Barrister Olusegun Alalade hit the youngest child of the house, Ifeoluwa Oluwaloseyitan (Nee Alalade), with a large wooden plank in the eye and nose area. She has been blinded on the eye and left with several nose fractures while Mr. Babasanjo Alalade, attacked her husband, Pastor Abraham Oluwaloseyitan, with a machete to the head whilst he was trying to save his wife. Other siblings who were seriously beaten and assaulted, were left with several injuries.

Ifeoluwa has been undergoing several surgeries at the General Hospital, Ikeja, where her entire eye socket is been rebuilt. She awaits further surgeries from ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat) surgeons at the same hospital.
All would have expected a Barrister at law to follow due process and appear in court respectfully rather than resolving to a brutal assault on a lady and violence against their fellow brothers. It is suspected that Barrister Olusegun Alalade and Babasanjo Alalade has, again, been attempting to fraudulently sell the 3-acre Estate on Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja and other properties of Late Chief Daniel Okunola Alalade.
The Alalade family from Ada, popularly known to be a peaceful and united extended family, are all shocked and disappointed that one of their most read and educated sons could lead such an attack on his siblings in the home where they all grew up.
