Ignorant IPOB imp.

This is why I called you a criminal. You have decided to construct a road without direction.

You complain of Lagos having monopoly of ports but are the same cretins complaining about a project that will open SS ports to traffic and trade .

You claim you are championing SS grievances but are at the forefront opposing and castigating a major landmark project that will open up the remote SS coastal areas to trade and tourism.

This project is a major game changer for the good people of the SS which will surely open up economic activities in the zone but you that are claiming SS/SE ambiguity are opposed to such a landmark project.

I have listened to all your stupid reasons why the project is not feasible and none of them make sense .

The one that irks me the most is the one where you claim the pathway for the project is swampy and as such not feasible. This is the same excuses northern hawks gave as reason for the neglect of the SS in terms of infrastructural development.

Its obviously clear now that the Bitter leaf movement is now wholly composed of demonic IPOB grunts who see this project as an impediment towards installing their Bitter Obi and towards their biafran expansionism into the SS.

You claim other roads need fixing. Why was this argument discarded in your persistent demand for a second Niger bridge which you now enjoy ?

Has it occured to you that this highway will ease the stress on existing highways ?

You people are filled with demonic hate and jealousy.

Finally, just forget anything like Obi as president or any candidate from your region that you prop up tomorrow.

Niger Deltans are now fully redpilled on your hatred and jealousy towards them.

Nigerians now see your stinking hypocrisy.

THE EAST WEST ROAD IS BEING REHABILITATED AS WE SPEAK.

IT IS NOT ABOUT “DO THIS ROAD BEFORE DOING THAT ROAD”.

THEY ARE WORKING SIMULTANEOUSLY.

The mindset that brought us thus far is already taking a toll on our collective thinking in this country.

Let's change our engagement for once and do things differently. Yes rehabilitation works are ongoing on the East West road along Eleme here in Rivers State.

You should understand that this administration doesn't want to be different from previous administrations. In terms of road projects, some will remain abandoned after 8 years. The next administration may continue on that trajectory and how are we better off living such national lifestyle?

We are saying, don't spend this huge amount of money on a road that is looking like abandoned project realistically.

Finish up the bad roads first off, then you are good to go with a new road without having too many distractions. That's all.

There were abandoned projects all over the Country when the 2nd Niger Bridge was built
But you had no problem with it

That is why your sudden concern for them now is highly suspicious

That is the tradition that mustn't be allowed to fester. What sort of dream do you have for this country if I may ask?

You want to create economic waste here and there and someone says stop. Sought out the existing problems before creating additional problem. How is that bad?

Again, 15 trillion naira is not 2 billion naira. Let's finish with the lesser evil before confronting Lucifer.

Some of the abandoned projects would still remain abandoned for now as they are mostly elephant projects.

Let's do the one we are sure of. President Tinubu proofed himself when he was Lagos state governor, one year gone, 3 years left, let's wait and see

If you think this one won't end up like the rest, let's do some critical thinking here.

Let me start by asking you some basic questions to capture your thoughts exponentially.

Have you been to Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers state in your whole years of living?

You have already displayed at emboldened because you didn't even bother to read my comments, as usual fixated mindset, but for how long?

That the road didn't pass through the South East is never the issue. The issue is, there are abandoned projects all over the country including an East West road already serving the same purpose for which the coastal highway is designated. That East West road is in terrible condition and lives are being lost on that road everyday. Put it in order and channel the rest amount of money to areas that needed utmost attention. Not a project that won't be completed under 20yrs.

Again,15 trillion Naira is a huge money earmarked for a project that never followed due process. Perhaps it could have been less than what Dave Umahi wants us to believe.

Too many grey areas associated with the project are the reason for reasonable doubts.

I am just curious about the discussion related to Lagos - Calabar coastal road projects which from some quarters most especially South East have been disagreeing about it, is it about the exemption of South East from the projects?

If that should be the case, how did the project pass through both Senate and HOA that the senators and House of reps members from South East have kept mute.

My own personal issue with the projects is the roads not passing through any of the South East states. the question is why?

Let's actually know what you people are disagreeing about the projects

If you aren't bereft of ideas and only supporting criminals in power for crumbs, kindly show me where this road project will pass through in Rivers State.

Incase you don't know, that criminal venture named coastal highway is much more closer to the people of SE than SW on realistic terms.

So someone is actually celebrating a worthless rating that doesn't impact positively in the lives of Nigerians already decimated by hunger. grin grin

No fuel, high transportation fare, the middle class has been eroded yet, it's Fitch's rating that is the only achievement of Tinubu one year in office. cheesy

Why is noone asking the CBN governor what is responsible for the recent depreciation of the local currency, the Naira?

Has the CBN lost steam in her effort at "stabilizing" the Naira? Why is everyone silent on the recent depreciation? Are we fine with the current state of our economy?

Earlier in April, the Naira was appreciating daily that it almost braced the N1000/$ mark. At that time, some of us argued that the CBN may have returned to the era of defending the Naira. Not only did APC and Tinubu apologiists deny it, they called us names. Now that the whirlwind of depreciation has returned, coukd someone tell us what changed, except that the depletion of our external reserves became significantly noticeable.

Please, for all those that argued that the CBN was not defending the Naira, kindly help us ask Mr. Cardoso, what has changed that we are back to where we were before?

Were you not told to keep your dollars intact?

Were you listening to Reno o monkey the sycophant whom was praising the artificial naira appreciation?

Were you not told that Nigeria has to move from consumption to production if naira has to gain strength against the dollar?

Bro, No need explaining. I picked the elements of your argument to show you the hypocrisy that:
1. All roads don't have to be completed before new one starts.
2. Nigeria funded an expensive project when DSR was over 100%, why not now when her DSR is under 65%.
3. That an alternative road exist is not enough argument to stop new one, citing 2nd Niger bridge.
Anything short, we are being hypocritical.
Lastly, Dave Umahi took his time to explain that this is the cheapest road the govt is handling at the moment wrt cost per km for its size. Nobody has contested that! Yes it is 700km and overall cost is more. Nigeria doesn't have to complete it in 1 year, you know about project & finance scheduling. Common!
We need constructive opposition to APC, you guys just dey make them shine!

There is no hypocrisy here. If you are a tad considerate, you should know that lives are being lost on those dilapidated roads.

A sane govt ought to know what Nigerians are yearning for at the moment before embarking on a humongous project that won't finish under 20yrs.

And if I may ask, what special purpose is associated with the coastal highway the East West road can not offer?

I simply picked on the elements of your argument (as an emergency lover of Nigeria).
All existing projects must be finished before this starts?
Nigeria doesn't have money for this?
There's an existing road?
They all stands logic on its head.
If you couldn't complain when that was constructed, how did you find your voice now? Is there more to this coastal road project?

I really don't get it... The second Niger bridge was built because the old one has outlived it's usefulness. Still people were managing it on the fact that there was no alternative. The horrible state of that bridge considering when it built was the reason why another bridge had to be built.

Remember it is a bridge built across a River. Not a surface road on the land that is easier to rebuild or patch up.

So are you comparing a less than one kilometre bridge with a 700 kilometre road or what exactly?
Politics / Re: Ben Murray-Bruce Talks About The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway by Nightwolf1: 4:43pm On May 05
casualobserver:

Most of you are ignorant illiterates. Dave Umahi has stated many times that all federal govt roads are being repaired. The problem is we do t have the money to repair all the roads quickly so work is slow. He stated categorically there are just under 3000 awarded road contract and there is none where work is not on going.

Now a private company comes with a proposal to build a new transformational road with their own money. The road will cost $15b, the government will put down $1b, they will finance the rest and recoup their money from tolls. Mind you the entire budget for Nigeria is just under $30b. Should the govt say no?

Is the $15b for Lagos Calabar govt money? No!

Is they don’t build the Lagos Calabar road will the $15b go towards existing roads? No!

Are they repairing existing roads? Yes
But at a slow pace because we have no money!

If they don’t construct Lagos Calabar will it make repairs on existing roads faster? No!

Know the facts before you comment.
Existing roads are being repaired but govt has no money so it is slow.
The money for Lagos Calabar is not govt money and if you cancel the project the money will not go to existing g roads because it is not govt money.

No you are the ignorant illiterate here. You haven't fixed dilapidated roads yet you are constructing a new road that would take up to 8yrs to complete.

Why can't they channel the over one trillion naira for the coastal highway to fix the bad roads littered everywhere in the country since there is no money which had resulted in the slow pace of work on the other roads currently under maintenance?

Can you list the importance of the coastal highway let's see what is different from the existing East West road.
Politics / Re: Ben Murray-Bruce Talks About The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway by Nightwolf1: 4:25pm On May 05
Godfullsam:

The minister of works already states that the lagos-calabar project will not stop the repair and rehabilitation of other existing federal roads.

You guys are bent on crying unnecessarily.

The project has started already. No amount of wailing and criticism can stop it.
If this project was sited in the north, none of you will criticize it for any reason because the north are your slave masters.

That the project has started is not my problem. My issue is, fix existing roads with the same speed like the coastal highway.

Since last year the FG has been struggling to fix Port Harcourt Aba express road with a very short distance. It's less than 40 mins drive from Port Harcourt to Aba.

Besides, the rain is coming and with the kinda people in Govt, a perfect excuse is underway to abandon that project untill maybe forever.
